Is it bad that I don't play any songs and all I do is improvise? I mean, I do play TO songs, but I don't know any songs. The drumming is too simple for me and isn't fun tbh.
What do you listen to that all of the drumming is "too simple?"
Naw, it's just that I play it for a minute, and then find it boring to play the same damn thing for like 2 minutes more. I could just be listening to songs with bad drumming though. I know how to play the beats, as they're all relatively similar.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U2Kn-JDf6o Learn to play this than.
I'll learn it once I get some more cymbal stands. Thanks for the video though, looks to be about my level.
Vader. That's fucking what.
Vader is fucking awesome! One of my favorite songs from them is This is the war (Intro included): Awesome blasts and an awesome beginning. Always gives me the chills.
I fucking love Vader.
jesus fucking christ that video is hella loud give a bro a fucking warning
always have my speakers on a fairly low volume then adjust sorry v:v:v [editline]11th February 2011[/editline] -snip- fucking slowpunch
Played with my band at the local talent-competition today. Went good, even if I played on a rickety old Tama Imperialstar.
Wow. My new drum heads are already denting after a week. Next time I replace heads I'm going Remo. Before anyone says its me, the heads on my lowest floor tom have 0 dents and have been on there since I got the kit. And the Emperor I had on my highest rack tom before I smacked as hard as I can once and still didn't dent it.
yeah my floor head has no dents in it. not even a tiny one. i fucking pound on the thing too my high tom seems to take a shitload of brunt being the head that gets dented most on my kit
got to watch Tommy Igoe warm up in a band room at a high school :P.
Finally nailed Aerials and I just need to touch up on The Jester Race. Both fun songs to play.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pdGeRm1mkWs This is truly cringe worthy. Who would purposely hit this hard?
damn the skins are one thing. those are pretty cheap but the cymbals fucking shit. kid must be rich or something. they dont even sound like cymbals. they sound like shit
Recommend me some good songs to play with drums. I listen all kinds of music from the 40's till this day.
Anyone have any good tips for building up the left leg?
Three no secret to strengthening left. Just do the same as you would with right
Anyone have any good tips for building up the left leg?
Use it instead of right foot.
Lol well that was my derp moment of the week.
We all have them. I walked into a door today.
Made a small drum tutorial. It teaches how to make screeching/rusted gate-effects with your cymbals.
Also, a Dave Weckl cover. Was hard as hell! Also, I'm considering buying an O-zone crash. Anyone have any experience with one? I'm thinking about buying the HHX one
Also this may seem dumb but I always remember reading somewhere that Dave lombardo would gate his kick drum on recording. I'm clueless to what that means.

For Death Metal and stuff they use it because at a certain point the kick drum will sound to much like one note.
Almost like triggering/sampling?

Gate'ing is to isolate and clean up the recording of unwanted frequencies, so the only thing that's heard is the (in this case)drum that you've recorded.
