Just got the toms and a new paise 18" crash. Sounds like sex. Going to cover soon. Just have to get the endurance up to do that break. I always lose it at the end of it; I know the rhythm, it's just damn hard to keep up with the song [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] Using tight hi-hat to sound like the stack he used for the verse [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] What kind of Hi-hat should I get? I'm tired of my stock hi-hat, and I want one that can easily sound like a ride if you lightly tap it. What he does in the end of the song. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] i mean tap it with you foot
Also, just got back from our Indoor Percussion's first game. Was fun, we have another one tomorrow. My school is trying to get a endorsement. Need to convince our band director that we will not get a endorsement unless we start playing a lot more. They seem to think once a week is enough for Zildjian. why would you want a high hat to sound like a ride if you have a ride cymbal?

Most schools pay full price for their equipment.

My school has one of the best music curriculum's in the country, and all they have is a piddly drum kit with a cracked hi-hat and one cymbal.
why would you want a high hat to sound like a ride if you have a ride cymbal?
Listen to the song; also during fills. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] TMV does a shitload of that in their songs
Listen to the song; also during fills. [editline]25th February 2011[/editline] TMV does a shitload of that in their songs
i kind of hear it. but very slightly. i dont see the point really

I love that song, good luck! And Thaard, look into adobe for sound insulation, it's supposed to be really good. It's pretty mcuh compacted mud and water

I've got some Glava wrapped in sheets where I am now, and some huge bed-sheets hanging from the walls.
Has anyone had problems with their bass pedal not staying securely onto your bass drum? I moved my set the other day and I haven't been able to get it back to how it was before.
I'm going to get my 8" tom next month at last! I ordered my set back in October and I had to wait like 3 months for it. And then I realized that the extra 8" tom wasn't there. Apparently they didn't have absolutely any of them in stock so I had to wait half a year to get it... A month to go!
My school has one of the best music curriculum's in the country, and all they have is a piddly drum kit with a cracked hi-hat and one cymbal.
expensive cymbals dont fit well into any budget. besides, a crash\ride and a set of hats is all you need for a bare minimum kit.
what is with you and waiting. for you wait months for cymbals now you wait months for toms why.... where the fuck do you buy from
I know. I ordered all of those from my teacher at the same time (Meinl and Pearl are his sponsors so I got a little discount.) Apparently there were very few in stock of all of them and they had some problems in the delivery, so I had to wait a long time to get them all. Just gonna buy straight from shop from now on. Or order from somewhere else :v:
how much of discount
They're trying anyways.
Good luck Speaking of sponsorships, the best part about marching in a top 12 DCI drumline: sponsor sticks. Free, very dense, perfectly pitched, and free. And they're free. No more paying $15 for a pair of hybrids that might be broken before they get in!
how much of discount
Well it wasn't that much. Actually I could have got them at a lower price from Thomann's shop.
i need some help can someone tell me how to play the triplets on the double bass in this track? nobody on youtube wants to help, and no tabs actually tell me how to play it. all they say is to do 3 hits on the latter half of the beat when there is obviously more to it i dont care how its written. if its written in whatever that stuff darkrein reads then my instructor can give me a hand translating it to the kit. all i need is to find the info though
that isn't coordinated at all, it's just three hits and then an attempt at triplets. i fail to see how you mean "how to play these triplets" it's just.. you know three bass hits. but quite fast. but really that track is a mess.
New drum-cover, which may be my last in a long time.. :( Dave Weckl - Access Denied
well this person for example seems to have it down. but are the three hits simply on the later end of the beat? as in do they hit all after you hit the hat with the kick? or do some hang over onto the snare hit [editline]28th February 2011[/editline]
New drum-cover, which may be my last in a long time.. :( Dave Weckl - Access Denied
what is that ugly thing on the right that looks like a cymbal, and more importantly, why doesnt it make any noise

honestly that guys playing is a mess, he can't keep up his triplets at all. i'm really bad at writing this out for you, but it's pretty simple really, try to slow it down in your mind it doesn't really matter where the triplets are, if you can't reconise them like this, you should probably start out playing triplets really slow, and faster and faster, until you can reconise how they would sound at that speed. [editline]28th February 2011[/editline] the playing of that guy is as messy as his kit, looks like a pearl export with stock heads, and an extra tom that doesn't match, and a clear pinstripe on the snare, are you kidding me.
lars was a pretty sloppy player either that or the track fucking sucks i dunno
lars is pretty sloppy but obviously not on studio records, i can assure you that the track basically sucks monster balls.

My favourite crash.. It has seen better days..
also does doing pushupsincrease speed of single stroke rolls? im trying to figure how the fuck i went from struggling to do the sextuplet (right?) at the end of metallica's a week and a half ago to being able to play it pretty easily also funny thing about being solid in the studio toward the end of blackened before the snare delay +china hits, Lars goes off time during his fills but seems to recover from it flawless ly. i noticed it when i first started playing the song and just doing a basic run though not doing those fills
I just got a set of blocks and a cowbell, but I don't have a mount for either yet. I didn't actually want them very badly, but they were presents, so oh well.
i always thought your playing looked pretty easy on the crashes, how did you beat out those chunks
i always thought your playing looked pretty easy on the crashes, how did you beat out those chunks
Yea, I've never broken a crash in all of my years of playing. But this just suddenly disintegrated and started blowing chunks everywhere. I'm going to buy me something more rigid next time
