Took delivery of my Yamaha DTXpress IV today. Motherfucker is extremly sexy for an electric kit. Haven't played in 5-6 years so I'm easing myself back into it. Any good songs for a newer drummer?
haha :P Pics ? :D
Hmm.. Gimme a tic K done.
How much did you pay for it ? (I'm thinking to buy a electric kit)
How much did you pay for it ? (I'm thinking to buy a electric kit)
around $2000 AUD, but there's a special edition which has an upgraded snare and hihat plus a 3rd cymbal pad for an extra couple hundred. Good kit, the pads are nice and responsive and feel great to play. 1 thing though, It doesn't come with a bass pedal. BYO I guess
dude your new kits awesome :D
Haha, cheers. I'm in love. Next on the shopping list: A drum amp, MIDI I/O for my PC, and a double kick pedal!
I would sort of like an electric kit, because I could play as loud or as quiet as I wanted, I could play whenever I wanted without fear of disturbing people, and I could play as ambitiously as I wanted because if I was playing like shit no one could hear me anyway. Plus I could play along to music and record easily, which is what I love to do. However, I'd want a good one with mesh pads, and they're expensive. It's pretty much impossible to expand the kit, and I don't really have any room for one, unless I sold my existing one, which I would not want to do.

My drum room has such bad echo it sounds horrible, and I've found out the double kick I got is a lefty :downs: The things that go into drums..

Eh. It's wank factor. You'd never use all of those drums. Like, ever.
Especially since half of them are the same tom.

The play metal which wouldn't be my first choice but beggars can't be choosers! The lead singer asked me if I knew off time beats... I don't have a clue what that is any help for a drumma from a drumma?
Basically, I'm the best. I also think that Tavis Barker, Neil Pert, and Buddy Rich are the best. Here's my kit:

Well golly.
My set is a fucking embarrassment, Westbury 5-piece, and solar hi-hat+thin crash, but at least I have a B8 Pro ride...I really need a new set. Basically this except in sparkly silver (very gay looking btw)
New photo (cause I liked how the sunlight shone over the cymbals ) So far my setup is (left to right) Open hats (rim is a subdrop), Military-type snare (rims are..rims on this one), toms 1-3 (tuned down 2 steps). Cymbals are Crash (bell is a splash) and China. Oh, and both pedals are bass pedals (who needs motherfucking hihat control rite)
A wild Danny Carey appears!
