I'm unsure if this was discussed before, but Ron Artest is an NBA player.
In his early days in the NBA, he was an all star player for the Indiana Pacers. He won a defensive player of the year award from the NBA, and was liked by the league. Then came this:

I was watching this live by the way, since I am from Detroit and a HUGE Pistons fan.
Anyway, Artest was suspended, and would not be picked up by another NBA team for a couple of years. When he did, he was picked up in hesitation by the Houston Rockets, and was later picked up this year by the LA Lakers.
Like most of you know, the Lakers won the championship last year, and with Artest on this team they won it again this year.
Here's Artest's post-game interview (comedy ensues):

"I would like to thank everyone in my hood, [blah blah blah], my doctor, my psychiatrist.."
Here's his post-post-game interview (he's drunk on something here):

Artest is a horrible rapper, and he has tried using his NBA fame to sell some shitty rap CDs. Here is a single by him, recently released. If you don't hate him after this, then there is something wrong with you.

Frankly, with the brawl, and him attacking a fan the NBA should have split him from the NBA instantly and permanently. If this is one of the faces to represent the NBA, I don't intend to watch it any longer.
Why was Ron Artest suspended when in the video he's lying down cause he took a hit from Ben Wallace?
[editline]12:05AM[/editline]
LOL nevermind, didn't see the end. Fan got owned.
Wow.
Why are you trying to discredit Artest?
Did you have any idea how stupid Shaq was?
I would have hit him in the face if I was in that crowd, he doesn't deserve to make the money he does.

You mind as well go hunt down every other major league athlete.
Lakers are full of DICKS.

The lakes are full of dicks?
Also relevant.

I love the part where he punches that random fan on the court and then another laker comes out of no where and punches the same dude.
Put on my laker jersey then i go rape white

He played for the Sacramento Kings before he was traded to the Rockets. They were hesitant to pick him up but they still took him in.
God the NBA is a such a bunch of wusses
I mean all they do is push eachother like a bunch of wannabes
that was fucked up that he fouled him like he did, but the guy fucked up when he pushes him. I can't believe the fans were fucking throwing shit though, that is so immature when they're not even involved.
He's just happy that they won.
How to embarrass yourself, your team and your sport: By Ron Artest

That pussy Artest suckerpunched a fan and then backed off, letting his little friends take care of him
Ron Artest is awesome. What the fuck are you on about? And he isn't making that song to make money you dumbass.. You realize he is incredibly rich right? And it's only 1 song, it's not like it's an album.
And what in the hell is wrong with thanking your psychiatrist? I hardly see the issue, or the point you are trying to make here.

All of the above videos reduce the professionalism of the league.
The psychiatrist part was just funny I thought, everything else makes the league look bad.
First video, worst thing in the world is to go into the stands and attack a fan. By the way, that was the wrong fan. Later they caught the guy who threw whatever they threw at him, and it wasn't the guy he got up and hit.
Second video, like I said, just funny.
Third video, SO unprofessional. People are trying to do their job, to put his team on the newspaper the next day, and this guy is just making a fool out of himself, the league, and the press by acting extremely juvenile and almost drunk. "I wanna go the da club" is what he kept on repeating.
Fourth video, again, using his stardom to sell rap albums. Whatever reasons he may have with making singles and shit, it could be money, it could be more fame, I don't exactly know the reason behind it, but I know that it makes him and the league look bad. You may disagree with me, but his music is shit.

Lmao, you act like he called his friends over to do that.. 20 people instantly bum rushed that guy after Ron Artest hit him. Artest couldn't have hit that guy again even if he wanted to.
And watch how throughout the first 2-3 minutes of the video Ron Artest tries to avoid fighting, by laying on the accouncer table. He even lays down a second time after the first guy throws something at him. And after he hits the second guy to throw something, he tries to leave. Not to say punching fans is right, but he didn't start any of it..
@Above poster, third video, very unprofessional, I agree entirely.
Yea because the NBA is known for its high sophistication...
Artest is a breath of fresh air that speaks his mind. He came from a project in Queensbridge, NY and now has tons of money and won a championship. If I were him I'd be excited too, let the man enjoy himself.

You cannot even argue against the first video. I don't care if the guy in the stands his shoes at him, or a bag of shit. He goes into the locker room and wait until people and Wallace stop going crazy.
HE's supposed to be the professional, not the fan. HE's the one getting paid millions of dollars a year.

FYI, he is a professional. It's really hard to hold yourself with conduct and manner after you win your first champion or won a major event, you should try it some time. And you're calling a victory celebration unprofessional? You mind as well just declare fist-pumping and sudden body movements of excitement unsportsmanlike conduct for PGA golfers or dogpiles on a US Soccer player unprofessional.
Or Hell, lets just reprimand Michael Phelp's photo of him smoking a bong and take away all of his Olympic Medals and now we will forbid yelling and cheering when rivals are present at an event.

You're really bad at this.
They make millions of dollars a year, they better suck it up and act professionally or get the hell out. Plus there is no comparison between smoking a bong and hitting a fucking fan for no true reason.

There are so many wrong things in your post. I will take it apart.
FYI, he is a professional.
First and third videos hold the most unprofessional a player in the NBA can get. I don't get how thick you have to be to not understand this.
It's really hard to hold yourself with conduct and manner after you win your first champion or won a major event, you should try it some time.
Pay me millions a year and I'll be glad to.
Everyone else did it, and I'm not talking about the 2nd video, the 2nd video was just funny. I said that many times throughout the thread. The third is unprofessional, he had nearly an hour to compose himself for a 5 minute sitting. He's a grown ass man, not just a professional, yet he acted the way he did.
You mind as well just declare fist-pumping and sudden body movements of excitement unsportsmanlike conduct for PGA golfers or dogpiles on a US Soccer player unprofessional.
AGAIN, the second video I had no problem with, I JUST thought it was funny. Jeez.

Don't you dare compare Phelps with this joker.
Phelps won every thing on his own, or LEAD a group of swimmers to victory. Artest has cost his team many games due to his poor 3-point shooting, 18% in the first round, and barely going over 30% in the rest of the rounds. Shot 68% from the line.
He is BY FAR not the best player on the team, and certainly didn't lead the team to shit. Yes, he had that game winning shot, but he also score like 2 points in the third game. If you know anything about the game of basketball or the NBA, then you would know that Artest is more of a damage than a help for LA.
Anyway, don't compare the two. Phelps is a professional individual, this man is not, and the videos above are just a few examples.
