Craze is for sure in my top 3 DJ's.
That's true, but I personally love that. I feel like I have more appreciation for well produced/written music now. It's also fun pointing things out in songs that your friends haven't ever heard when they are showing you a song that they listen to all the time and you've never heard before. (what a fucked up sentence that was). [editline]13th September 2012[/editline] On an unrelated note, going to see DJ Craze next friday and wish that I was that good the whole night.
DJ craze the dnB guy? Is he still going? He was big in the early 90's. I've given up djing at gigs, seeing as everyone is a DJ now. I'll spend days making an awesome underground set but people just wanna hear what's popular. I miss the easy money though, used to get £120 to stand playing tunes for a few hours at my local pub. Illegal raves/freeparties good to play still though. Probably to do with the amount of pills that get taken. [editline]14th September 2012[/editline] Does Andy C or Hype etc ever play at shows near you? England has a huge dnb scene so all you gotta do is hop on a train any weekend and you're laughing. I'd advise you to see friction if you ever get the chance also!!
Craze is definitely still going strong man.. This is his new alter ego. DRT DWG. http://mediacontender.com/2012/01/06/dj-craze-introduces-drt-dwg-with-the-locd-out-mix-volume-1/

The other two times I've seen him he plays all kinds of shit though. This video is from the first time I saw him play, and the second time was similar to this too. Hype hasn't been out here that I know of, but Andy C was a few years ago (sadly it was at a bar and I wasn't 21 yet). We've had ak1200 and dieselboy through and subfocus is headlining next friday when craze is playing.
I'm pissed off with my name, i got this name in school when i was like 12, before the whole Brony thing. I can't use it as a dj name or a producer name because everyone is like. OH YOU LOVE PONYS AND SHIT. FUCKING PONIES. I fucking love accidental double drops... that feel when you realize it's gunna go.. Went to Full Cycle Vs V Recordings last night... @_@ Dj Die Krust Jumping Jack Frost Bryan Gee All doing classics sets. It was educational to say the least! Today i'm going out flyering for a mates night tonight so that'll be a laugh, another weekend of two nights in a row! hahah
I fucking love accidental double drops... that feel when you realize it's gunna go.. :D
Yeah that shit is always funny. Half assedly mixing two tunes and they happen to line up perfectly and then having them actually sound awesome when they hit is hilarious.
I wrote another mashup.
Does anyone here have any experience or know anything about the AKG K181DJs? I asked about headphones at my local shop and they said that they've had a lot of people (and their DJs) say good things about them. I read a few reviews online and should be able to try them out once they get a new shipment, but does anyone here know anything about them? I've narrowed it down to Sennheiser HD25s or the K181s. I would prefer the K181s just on the basis of price but I can get the senn's if i have to.
should I do an intro to DJing/glossary type thing we can stick in the OP?
Sure. Most people I talk to don't even know what a DJ even does other than "play music".
Was out in College for the first time since summer started and got talking to a friend of a friend who apparently worked in a bar in the city and it eventually came up that I DJ. Anyways, he ended up texting one of his buddies who spins there and he text back asking me to send him a mixtape. I'm not too confident about it seeing as I usually just play house parties and student nights where people don't care too much about my skills and I hate building myself up for this kind of stuff in case it doesn't work out. But I'm excited as fuck about it, I've wanted to play to more than 30 people at a time so badly.
should I do an intro to DJing/glossary type thing we can stick in the OP?
That would be excellent. I did make the OP a bit bland, didn't I?
I'll work on one later today and should finish it tomorrow. also, the gig I tried out for (it's a local burning man event) is on the 30th, we'll see in the next day or two if I got it.
Just PM me when you are done, and I'll update the OP. Recorded this for another competition to play at a Festival, voting hasn't started yet.
Vestax 06 or 07.
they seem like just what im looking for, thanks you mind me asking why you recommended them though? just so i can kinda learn what sets a good mixer apart from a bad one?
they seem like just what im looking for, thanks you mind me asking why you recommended them though? just so i can kinda learn what sets a good mixer apart from a bad one?
How clear all faders are from knobs, etc. (giving you plenty of room to move around), build quality (Vestax mixers use almost no plastic), and fader resistance. 06's and 07's have long been the standard for scratch mixers, and are the best you can get within the $200-$300 range used. It's hard to explain *why* Vestax (or any mixers) are good, the best you can do is read reviews, and look at what big name DJ's use (scratch DJ's/Turntablists, not club DJ's).
aight thanks a ton dude
Was working at brisfest doing sound and stage management weekend just got, managed to sneak off and see some awesome acts aswell. At one point I was sound checking the CDJs in one of the smaller stages and I just thought, sod it I'll carry on till the band starts.. So I had a little rinseout and some people came in the tent! ahahah! It didn't go perfectly though, I was in bedroom dj mode and listening to FOH to monitor the mix. Forgot about delay... IT SOUNDS IN WHY ISN'T IT IN!!! AHHH! Then my friends words circulated around my brain ala obi wan kenobi..Moooniiitooorr booothh in the headphoooneess! Then I was alright! Alot of fun! Aggy jump up though at like 3pm it's all they had hahahhah I'm mixing trap right now.. I know.. I know.. It makes me feel unclean but it's quite alot of fun to mix. I'll ask again since I didn't really get an answer, pair of Stanton T62's for 80 quid? Worth it?
I'll ask again since I didn't really get an answer, pair of Stanton T62's for 80 quid? Worth it?
Cheapest direct drive turntable on the market. For 80 I'd go for it, provided they are in good condition. I've never DJ'ed with a Stanton setup and NOT had issues with pitch locking; Be sure to test the quartz lock.
I got the Rekordbox app and it provides a sort of emulation of a Pioneer CDJ. I still need to practice with a real pair but it does still have the strange way Pioneer cue/loop points behave. Can someone explain this a little better? The DDJ-SX looks like one gnarly-ass controller
