Use Virtual DJ, bind your keyboard and learn to use your keyboard as a controller.

I really, really suggest saving up to buy your first controller. I had a Hercules DJ MK4 for a few months when I started:

This thing was paperweight-worthy. The knobs weren't aligned, the faders weren't calibrated, the buttons were sticky and hard to press, not to mention that they often triggered twice (pressing play might not actually start the track playing, etc).
My first controller was a Mixtrack pro (i still have it), I've switched to a modular setup but beginners should probably look for a basic all-in-one. I wish I'd have gotten the Reloop Mixage but it doesn't work with AMD processors for some reason. Look into the Mixage, it's more compact and metal.
Im thinking on a mixtrack pro
I've recently really started getting into Dj'ing, and i'm thinking about seriously pursuing it as a skill to improve. What's a good a turntable to start with? I'm looking for something under 200. And Are there any good turntables where I can still scratch and all that, like with records, and still have alot of fun, but use songs on the computer on it? I don't want to put money towards vinyls all the time or anything.
If you want to use a turntable and a computer you need a timecode setup, which is definitely not going to happen for $200. You're honestly not going to get anything other than a midi controller for under 200, and even then you're not really going to get anything all that nice. DJing is expensive when you start getting good reliable gear. Get a midi controller and play around with that and see if it holds your interest. If it does, and you still want to go timecode, start saving because cheap turntables aren't worth it. Timecode is awesome though, so I definitely recommend it if you do find that your interest holds enough to warrant dropping a few grand on equipment.
What's timecode?
Vinyl records that allow you to control software on your computer. Essentially it turns your turntables in to a midi controller so you can play mp3s but control it like vinyl. Look up traktor timecode and serato scratch live if you want to see it.
Yeah what kmart said, as I understand it the timecode record itself plays a tone that the computer software interprets via a special audio interface, and uses to control playback of MP3 or other files. You can use timecode CD's too but personally I don't get the point of that. Again you aren't getting timecode for anything less than a grand, unless you find a really good deal on some used gear.
Just get a midi controller for now. I originally planned to "upgrade" to a timecode system but I found I liked using pure MIDI better.

but you'll find out what the best solution for you is once you try a few different setups
unless you find a really good deal on some used gear.
This is a very good thing to point out too. Used shit is awesome if you make sure it's been taken care of well. You can find some amazing deals. I got a pair of technics SL1200-m3ds in perfect working condition for $250 a piece because someone I knew had bills to pay. If you live in a bigger city keep an eye on craigslist.
You can get good used stuff for cheap all the time. A guy on craiglist sold me a 19" rack cart which on its own would have been in excess of $150, filled with two CD players which currently go on eBay for $200 each, an amp which I sold for $50, and some EQ's and other shit which I still have, all for $100 because he'd found it in a storage unit.
Would a pair of Stanton T.62's be worth it at about 300 dollars?
If it's for the pair, I guess so. They go for around $200 each new. I don't know enough about turntables to say for sure but Stanton is generally a good brand.
Good to hear that some of you guys here actually get gigs, those are some great opportunities and if you put some real nice effort into it, maybe it'll pay off in the end.
So I got some new music in the last few weeks, so I finally had enough tracks to make a new Set yesterday that doesn't consist of the same tracks over and over again.
Some Minimal Tech-Housy stuff I guess, I'm really bad with genres. Fitting description would be plain chill but pumping, or something alike:

Bad link
I got my first setup a few months a go, I fucking love mixing vinyl. I just wish they weren't such a drain on my money. Hopefully getting a better mixer this week aswell, because the iM1 is pretty basic. I plan to add a CDJ aswell eventually.
I'm not a Dr Dre beats fag either, I got them for free.

Usually local record stores have newer vinyls. Heck, even some stores carry pop. There was a store I lived near and they had Lady Gaga on 7 and 12 inches. And hi.
I just made a mix also. It's my last forever probably. It's not so great but it's much better than what I did a year ago.

Would you guys suggest a Numark Mixtrack Pro for a beginner DJ?
Yes or no?
Definitely yes
Yes, get it. If you have an intel processor you might look at the reloop Mixage IE too, it's smaller and metal. I found the MTP is kind of big for me but both are good controllers.
Bumping with two mashups I created.

Porter Robinson - Language
Nicki Minaj - Starships
Owl City ft Carly Rae Jepsen - Good Time

Leon Bolier - US (Original Mix)
Deorro & J-Trick feat. Treyy G - Booty Bounce (Original Mix)
Rita Ora - How We Do (Party) (Laidback Luke Remix)
Afrojack and Steve Aoki ft Miss Palmer - No Beef
House Of Pain - Jump Around
I'm no DJ, but someone should definitely mashup Fire Hive and The Devil's Den, I tried it in Deckadance and it sounded perfect.
Got any recommendations for a beginner deck under $400.
Numark Mixtrack Pro
Bought an F1 around a week ago, it's mega fun. Haven't used it live but looks really cool just using it in the dark. Chucking up samples and bits and pieces from loads of songs is really easy, and you can import samples from Maschine which even let's you remix your own tunes in Traktor. I love it.
I'm probably gonna get one after I get a couple extra bucks, I've wanted to try doing some routines forever.

Just a quick mix. Next i'm going to do an hourlong one, any tips?

In all honesty, I think you need to learn how to beatmatch/mix tracks properly. You're not syncing the BPMs up at all and transitioning in the span of about five seconds.
If you're using digital, use sync/beatgrids to start you off. If you're using analog, learn to beatmatch (ellaskins has some good tutorials on youtube).
A basic transition between tracks is just cutting your EQs from the other track, slowly moving the crossfader over (timed with beat counts), and swap the EQs (i.e. bring up lows while cutting the original's lows, repeat with highs and mids). What it sounds like you're doing is just slamming the tracks together.
