So basically, these are bigass glasses hooked up to a computer in your pocket.

If they had faith in their product they would have shown actual footage then concept design in their promotional material. I haven't worn, meta glasses but I'm quite familiar with the technology, the computer vision won't be as good as kinect and everyone knows how well kinect games work. If you want a product that will best work with AR they pretend to offer then go with what game from valve's AR department CastAR. It's a different system pico projector, retro reflective matting, IR gird cord, and rf gird. However before that method was created a version pretty much exactly like meta glasses were prototyped at valve and it turned out, one, it was too expensive to use the same glass screen as google glass and meta, two, a computer vision approach from a normal camera has too much latency which the last time I saw meta is using. I've seen you around the Oculus rift thread in general games, and the rift is going to be a good vr product when it comes out for consumers to it's fine to have faith in the product. If you want something to go outside get google glass. If you want the best AR that will come to market in the future go CastAR If you want the best VR that will come to market in the future go Oculus rift. (not idea on valve vr, check in next month). The reason why meta, castAR, and most likey Oculus rift are going to be wired is because due to the low latency and number of pixles needed you can't have a wireless system like the wii u pad. There's a chip that can make something like castAR or Oculus rift wireless that uses several bandwidths to get the data, however only one person in the room and most likely the only wireless device in the room would be those glasses or goggles.
