You're 19. Time to grow up, buddy. As if they took your paychecks and won't even let you out of the house at your age, haha [editline]03:07PM[/editline]
Benji seems to be the only mature one here.
maybe if i pay a compliment to a mod he might like me :qfg:
My mum and dad weren't/aren't that strict when it comes to drinking, before I was 18 my mum was happy for me to drink and would sometime buy me alcohol. I think my mum would probably go mad if she caught me smoking, she's found king skins and lighters before. But never any tobacco or weed. She'll normally say yes, but if she doesn't I just nag her till she says yes :v:
If anything your parents should have been throwing you a booze filled party. Party up at college
My parents were at my 19th birthday party. They got nearly as wired as I did.
My parents were at my 19th birthday party. They got nearly as wired as I did.
I'm jealous!
My parents have bought me alcohol since i was 16, saves so much hassle of asking people to buy for me
Did your parents also happen to try to ban dancing in your town by any chance? [editline]08:39AM[/editline] But yeah, in a way, it kind of is your fault, not that I feel bad for ye
Parents can suck sometimes. Other times they're quite good about it. My mum is good about it but she did similar things when young so it's not surprising she's tolerant.
My parents buy me alcohol whenever I go to a party, but I think it's only because I don't actually drink that often.
One of the reasons I'm so upset is they've known I smoke and drink, they've seen my bong and pipes and such and they never stopped me. Then all of a sudden they do a complete 180. If I'd expected this kind of reaction, I prob wouldn't have tried.
If your parents are really that strict, you should have known better not to do that in their home. You're 19 years old now. Get your own place.
Most of us go to college at the awesome age of 19. This usually involves mooching off your parents until college is over with. DID YOU GO TO COLLEGE BENJI!?!

Did you try asking them if you could have a party involving this stuff? If they really were all that cool with it I think you'd tell them you were having a party with that stuff. Also, your parents would likely be held responsible for all the underage drinkers if anything happen. Honestly, if I was a parent, I wouldn't let my child throw a decent party in my house. I'd be cool with a small party, but other then that I'd rather have them do it elsewhere.
dude seriously, your 19 and they still ground you for drinking. im 18 and i drink in front of my parents and come home drunk. but that because legal age here is 18. but sill, not gunna lie. that a lil sad. sorry for ripping on ya.
I don't know what to say... ...I guess I'll go with, "Grow a pair."
I was on vacation and I asked for one beer from my parents and they wouldn't let me. I'm 19.
This sounds like something I'd read on FML.
So I was having a party the night before my 19th birthday. All was good, we had a ton of booze in my basement. I was sure nothing could go wrong. Then, as we were all partying outside, my parents searched the basement and found EVERYTHING. Now, I'm just turned 19, I'll be grounded for the nect month until I leave for college, and I ruined my own party. Just needed to vent. FML
That's better
no, that's worse. those sites should all die in a fire. [editline]09:51PM[/editline] oh yeah, getting your shit confiscated sucks. i got lucky and my parents only give me speeches about how theyre worried or whatever, they let me smoke though.
i mean come on dude follow kyles advice and grow a pair
Alright guys, for those telling me to grow a pair, what do you suggest I do? Since I don't drive and live in their house, I kinda rely on my parents, especially since they're going to pay for me to go to college.
First, I'd ask them what their problem with you drinking is. Are they religious?

And pay for your own college.. Im gonna. Its not that fuckin hard.. Get a job or a student loan, as well as apply for as many grants as you can. The only help Im getting is some possible help from the VA because my dad has some health problems from agent orange in thailand, but thats not guaranteed. And what Im generally sensing from this is that your parents were more angry about the fact that you didnt tell them about a bunch of minors drinking and smoking in your house than the actual drinking and smoking. Maybe if you ran it by them they wouldve allowed it.
I live in the suburbs pretty far from anything, and I don't have my license. The college I'm attending is $50,000+ a year, and my parents haven't let me get a job until this summer because they 'want me to focus on schoolwork'. And no, if I'd told them there would be people drinking and smoking at their house, they wouldn't have let me have it.
The first rule to growing a pair is stop making excuses.
Fuck, I just got caught. I feel for you dude. Except I'm much better at getting out of this kind of situation than you are it seems. Worst thing that happened to me is I got a delicious bud of AK47 taken away. It's their house and you're their son, parents will and deserve final say in all you do until you do not rely on them for dependence. Everyone telling you to "grow a pair" are clearly fucking morons.

Being honest is all part of the process of getting their trust and them giving you some leiniance.
Gaining their trust wont get you shit if they are simply against the use of drugs. It's not even like you are being treated unfairly. It's purely their decision if they want that shit in their house or not.

Don't be stupid and be careful, what they don't know will not hurt them, unless like I said, you're stupid.
Sure, anyone can do that. I thought we were talking about how he did it in his parent's house and how he has to live under their rules.
