Ha, the websites overloaded so people can't even donate :v:
This was his plan all along
but he isn't a fucking dick, is he?
Possibly. We don't exactly know. I think this is the first time he's taken a break from screaming at un-scary games to do something good.
Could he actually get away with taking all this money under the guise of donations and keeping it for himself? I don't think he'd risk it. He already makes a very good amount. You guys are just looking for another reason to hate him.
"Non Profit" charities generally get away with it. Some have markups as high as 80 to 90 percent, with little of the money donated actually going to where it's supposed to. The industry for it is huge.
It certainly beats a 9-5 job
Daily content is hard as fuck. You have to do all that shit yourself, and come up with stuff that people will enjoy. It takes a lot of balls and hard work to make a good daily channel.
since you obviously don't know that running a youtube channel aren't all that easy.
I could go on right away record amnesia and yell in the mic like a retard, render it with vegas and I would still get yelled for copying this douche. I hope one day he will mishap and lose all his sheeps.
On the subject of him using his own money. One has to wonder-out of all the money he gets from his videos, how much of that does he even use?

The most preparation you could use is just background knowledge on it.
I could go on right away record amnesia and yell in the mic like a retard, render it with vegas and I would still get yelled for copying this douche.
sounds like a very personal problem, what did he do to you? i don't find his videos entertaining but i don't lose sleep over it
On the subject of him using his own money. One has to wonder-out of all the money he gets from his videos, how much of that does he even use?
Probably very little. It's a low effort and low cost to high quantity and high reward business. He'll record maybe a couple hours of him playing and screaming a day and be able to make a couple thousand of dollars on that with little to no actual work or thought put into it.
Again, feel free to dislike the guy because of the content he produces, but it's stupid as fuck to use that to justify claiming that anything about this video or effort is bad in any way. Nothing PDP is doing in this video, or with this goal, is doing any harm to any body, and he's doing a lot more to help than a lot of Youtubers out there. He knows he's got an enormous cult following that will do anything for him, and he wants to appeal to them to help a crisis that's occurring. I don't like his videos, and they don't require much effort, but that has nothing to do with this and people are rating it dumb just because it's PDP. Hell, you don't even know how much he's donated himself.
Even when he's trying to help charity, Facepunch still finds a way to criticize pewdiepie.
He's raising money for a charity which helps people without a basic life neccesity and people are still parading around "yeh his videos are shit". You're worse than him.
On the subject of him using his own money.
Not really, no. Lets plays don't require planning most of the time and you can just talk and use catchphrases. If Gabe did this you'd all suck up to him and instantly donate your entire bank account, but no, because it's someone who appeals to a younger audience and most of the time makes jokes that don't fit your ~~superior range of comedy~~ you find any way possible to hate him Give him a fucking break! He's using his popularity for charity, can't you see he's trying to help people?
why did he add the massive filter RAPE WHY [editline]12th July 2013[/editline]
He's raising money for a charity which helps people without a basic life neccesity and people are still parading around "yeh his videos are shit".
bad lets plays dont. good lps actually need preparation, and most of the time the commentary is done in post, not live.
Good thing he's what we would describe as bad then. His content doesn't take that long to produce, yeah it's not as simple as "record, render, release". But it's still not as long as people who put effort into their channels and receive nothing. Though this is a good use of his fans weirdly obsessional love for him.
bad lets plays dont. good lps actually need preparation, and most of the time the commentary is done in post, not live.
its not a lets play if its post commentary
bad lets plays dont. good lps actually need preparation, and most of the time the commentary is done in post, not live.
and this kids, is why good lets plays take more time than improvision to make
why did he add the massive filter RAPE WHY [editline]12th July 2013[/editline] Considering how he is, I cannot, for the life of me, take him serious, at all
post about it in GDi
Possibly. We don't exactly know. I think this is the first time he's taken a break from screaming at un-scary games to do something good.
Think harder
PewDie was nominated to run in the internet phenomena "King of the Web", coming first in the leaderboard as overall king. PewDie intended on using the prize money of $7,500 to donate to WWF to save the tigers. It was until "WhatDaFuq Show" had a meteoric uprise on the leaderboards, stirring up the bro army, causing controversy, claims of cheating, and verbal bashing on both sides. Though placing second on his first try, he is also the first campaigner in the history of the King of the Web to gain support and forwarded votes from so many campaigners within the top 10, including Syndicate, JPMetz and Scary Snowman. Nevertheless, he still placed first as the "King of Gaming". Two weeks after the last nominations, PewDiePie was crowned King of the Web, getting a $500 voucher at Game Stop and receiving $7,500 in cash. PewDiePie showed his generosity through one of his "Fridays with PewDiePie" episodes and donated all of the money received into WWF to save the tigers.
I don't like his videos, but he is a good guy.
since you obviously don't know that running a youtube channel aren't all that easy.
I'm a producer on skit-intros on a lets play channel and helped start it up along with contributing every now and then, the most effort we put in was finding different video plug hubs to set up the recording hardware without having to change a bunch of wires. You get an idea on what you play, it's good to have some background knowledge on what went on in the production or cool things about the game, but most of what goes on is simple reaction or just talking.
Think harder I don't like his videos, but he is a good guy.
his humor is shit, and he is an ok guy, but in the end, sadly, he attracts really shitty people

It's not easy work, it takes time. Time he puts for his fans, he absolutely deserve his money.

Editing is very time consuming, if nothing else.
his humor is shit, and he is an ok guy, but in the end, sadly, he attracts really shitty people
Which doesn't mean he is a bad guy, does it?
his humor is shit, and he is an ok guy, but in the end, sadly, he attracts really shitty people
He attracts 12 year olds all 12 year olds are annoying cunts, fact of life wouldn't say they're shitty people

Though this is a good use of his fans weirdly obsessional love for him.
There are many more Youtubers who have large fanbases (maybe not as large as PDP's, but large nonetheless) and make videos that require very little effort in the way of planning and preparation. Regardless, how does the subjective quality of his humor and the effort he puts into his videos make him any worse of a person? So he releases videos that take little work, obviously people out there find him funny, any humor is subjective so it's not like you can claim superiority. Regardless of his personal attitudes and behaviors, what he's doing here is a good thing, no matter which way you slice it. You all act like any other Let's Players are any better. I don't like his videos, but in general, he's doing a lot more to help charities out than say Game Grumps or Continue!.
his humor is shit, and he is an ok guy, but in the end, sadly, he attracts really shitty people
convincing shitty people to donate to charity sounds like a good idea
