If you have the ability to make a difference by donating to it on your own, that's fine. It's great to spread awareness on things, but you shouldn't have to push it onto your supporters. Just say you donated on a video or show your receipts from it. Critikal does that with the money he makes and that's fine.
He's not forcing anyone to donate. How is this any different than the videos on TV about the animal abuse charities, or about the drinking water for Africa? Oh right, just because it's PDP, a video, a short video, asking an LPer's fanbase to donate to a charity to help victims of lack of water, is a bad thing.
I'm not doing it at all. I'm saying that the guys not a fucking professional and shouldn't be treated as if he puts work into his videos, since SweFox claimed he did.
But he does.
Where does he push it on his supporters?
A disabled guy came up to me and asked for a donation to charity fucking trying to guilt trip me cunt punched him square in the face
Pretty cool. Hope people donate.
But he does.
I think people just don't realize how hard is it to make content that keeps the fanbase interested. Just because the content looks low effort, doesn't mean it is. The number of subscribers he got is a clear proof on that.
I clap for anyone who's able to sit through 70 videos of a guy playing happy wheels.
People enjoy it, who cares not like you have to watch it
Does it really matter where the money comes from? The answer is no. But any reason to hate this guy is great I guess.
It's nice even though I am not optimistic and think that he rather does this to improve his image and become even popular.
I clap for anyone who's able to sit through 70 videos of a guy playing happy wheels.
There are people like that. They watch those videos. They ENJOY those videos. The creator gets money. Everyone is happy. Except one bitter guy that can't accept people like different things.
People enjoy it, who cares not like you have to watch it
And I don't. I'm just saying that SweFox is wrong when he claims that effort is put into his videos. All he does is photoshop a face for a thumbnail, use an attentiongrabbing title, and play a videogame while reacting to every little thing on screen. It's not work.
It's nice even though I am not optimistic and think that he rather does this to improve his image and become even popular.
Of course! But the money is still donated, isn't it?
It's nice even though I am not optimistic and think that he rather does this to improve his image and become even popular.
Or that he simply loves helping people. You know, there are people who love helping people. I love helping FP users for example.

The number of subscribers he got is a clear proof on that.
Please don't tell me you're using the popularity = quality argument? The number of subscribers vs. the effort involved in his work are totally mutually exclusive, unless his subscribers start requesting higher quality content (which they wont if it stays at the same level as they subscribed) then his effort isn't going to change much. Likewise, people who put tons of effort into their content failed to make it big on Youtube because of various reasons. Look at RWJ, his shtick was taking other peoples content and recording himself being a fucking moron who can't produce a single good joke. A little bit of editing after a few takes here, a couple of transitions there and bam. Content with no effort. He put a few videos out a day, that's still very little actual effort, just more work. PewDiePie records himself being a fucking moron with video games, screaming at things that shouldn't be screamed at. And uploads that to Youtube with minor editing. It's low quality content, but he found an audience that enjoys rape jokes and dumb shit, so he got popular. Still, at least he's putting the popularity to good use here, more than some of the bigger channels seem to do.

I'm saying that he doesn't work and all he does is play videogames, it's not a hard job and im simply explaining why it isn't to a person like SweFox who thinks otherwise. [editline]12th July 2013[/editline]
No.
Great reaction.
Great reaction.
You don't even know him.
You don't even know him.
I don't have to shake a persons hand to be able to talk about what they do. There's this thing called sensory analysis. If we can view things and hear things, we can sum up whats in front of us.
You don't even know him.
You don't need to know a person to make educated assumptions about how hard their job is. Just saying :v:
You don't even know him.
Well neither do you. :v: His humor is the lowest common denominator kind of stuff in my opinion, but frankly someone is always going to be there to use it. If PDP didn't exist someone very similar would take the limelight.
eh i still don't think he's a great guy but yeah i can get behind this
Well neither do you. :v: His humor is the lowest common denominator kind of stuff in my opinion, but frankly someone is always going to be there to use it.
No? I would say yes.

One video like that is hella easy to make, but he uploads a video everyday. Daily content is hard as shit. Doing that every single day is hard.
No? I would say yes.
Congratulations? You know an internet celebrity. Good job.
Congratulations? You know an internet celebrity. Good job.
Thanks.

Recording a ten minute to twenty minute video every day isn't hard, considering he doesn't have a job aside from youtube.
Oh it's this kind of thread again.
wow, it takes one thread to take people from hating pewdiepie to liking him.
Get this. Lets players record their gameplay in multi hour stretches and split them up into multiple parts to maximize their content distribution, mainly so people check in each day for new things. It's not hard to record for two hours and split it up into six twenty minute segments that are put out once a day. You can work once a week and act like a king.
