He's watched far too closely to rip off a charity like that, it would effectively be social suicide to run away with any of it. Pewds is a complete moron there's no denying that, but if his followers are willing to throw money at a charity because he said so, then I guess I support that.
LP'ing honestly isn't that hard, time consuming yes but it's just playing video games and chopping up videos and such. In my opinion pewdiepie's success boils down to luck and that he was one of the first-ish? LP'ers. I don't really like pewdiepie's sense of humor it seems to me like it's aimed at 12-14 year olds, and his overuse of rape jokes, he doesn't genuinely get scared, facecam etc. Anyway content of the videos he makes aside, I think using his fame to help a cause is a pretty good thing to do.. even if he is a bit of a scumbag.
I think we can all be thankful that he didn't get a Rust key however.
Oh god no. If his fans found here. Fuck.
Just saying, this guy has done charity before, he uploaded a video of him donating something like $7000 of his own money from winning king of the web Just because you don't like him, doesn't mean he's that much of a cunt he'd steal money. I don't like the guys videos, but I admire that he actually does partly use his fame to do good things
I'm gonna throw this in for good measure.
He's donating to charity, can people shut the fuck up about how shitty his videos are for one fucking minute?
I think we all agreed that his actions are admirable, it just turned into a discussion about his content. CALM DOWN MATE
He's donating to charity, can people shut the fuck up about how shitty his videos are for one fucking minute?
If you read the arguments that have been going on for several minutes, you'll see why I'm posting shit like this. It's to do with me explaining to people like Raptor and Swefox that he doesn't really have that much integrity in his work, while they're claiming the opposite. And I'm saying that great, you can donate to charity and do something like what Critikal does, giving receipts and donating a percentage of his money, in this case all he makes from youtube to charity. telling your fans to do it when you can do it as well is kind of lazy. I'm all for awareness, However, he's not donating all that, other people are while following his link. You're not using your own money to donate if you have ads enabled on your fucking video. You're not operating on a loss and still profiting.
Good on pewdie for trying to raise money, I don't watch him much anymore. I like an LP'r who can do good with his popularity. And right now my interest has gone back to Markiplier. He has raised almost $80,000 for charity already and with only a fraction of the subscribers pewdiepie has.
Why do so many LP'ers use that font? :v: also, pdp is awesome for doing this, he's not exploiting his fanbase or anything, just encouraging them to donate to charity

I just don't respect having a charity video, ads enabled and while donating money per every 500 views on the video is noble, you're operating on a profit for the video rather than donating it all to the charity.

I live a pretty comfortable life and could easily donate to charity but I don't. :v:
He's not even asking people to donate, he's saying for every 500 views he'll donate $1, how is this a bad thing
It's been fun arguing, but it's one of "those" discussions. You know the type, just like those MLP threads. Two sides that can't end the discussion, because one or both of the sides had no intentions to actually discuss the matter when entering the argument. I realized I won't change my opinion, no matter the counterargument, so I rest my case before the thread goes to shit.
He's not even asking people to donate, he's saying for every 500 views he'll donate $1, how is this a bad thing
That's like saying thanks for giving me 1000$ I'll use 100 for charity and wipe my butt with 900$. Alright I am out of this thread its pointless to defend a guy like him but it seems you keep doing it so w/e.
Two sides that can't end the discussion, because one or both of the sides had no intentions to actually discuss the matter when entering the argument
That's a cop-out. I've been totally willing to actually argue and debate this but the pro-PewDiePie side haven't actually put forward reasonable arguments, just "but...but his work is hard!!!!". You have to extrapolate on that, why is his daily content harder to produce than others? What does he do that makes his work hard?
If he was a real hardcore baddass mother fucker he'd donate 100% of it. Now that demands respect. We need influential people to be displaying charity, along with love, health, forgiveness etc. If you have the opportunity to make a video, and automatically you have thousands of people who will watch it, then it is your job to send out a good message. Otherwise you're a burden to the human race. You need to shine the light. Teach love, awareness, health, and so on.

I'll be sure to edit all my posts and say "LOL PEWDIEPIE IS HITLER AND UR 12 YRS OLD"
I dunno I'd say I've been pretty openly discussing things, arguing both sides As far as discussions go this thread could've been much worse
Yeah, that's why I'm leaving the discussion, I was up to no good.
I dunno I'd say I've been pretty openly discussing things, arguing both sides As far as discussions go this thread could've been much worse
Yeah so let's talk about guns, should only be a 5 minute discussion. [sp]GOOD GOD I AM ONLY JOKING DON'T ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT GUNS![/sp]
Gun laws for the transgendered Egyptians and Syrians complaining of hot weather in the UK discuss
Gun laws for the transgendered Egyptians and Syrians complaining of hot weather in the UK discuss
*Dori rated dumb.
i will never understand how some people are able to obsessively hate another person for such trivial reasons its almost like they have nothing better to do with their day
i will never understand how some people are able to obsessively hate another person for such trivial reasons its almost like they have nothing better to do with their day
I just don't respect people who have charity videos with ads on it and we just have to take their word that they'll donate. He's still operating the video on a profit and I think that if you make a video for a charity and have ads enabled, you should be expected to put up the full money the video makes, rather than just a dollar every so and so views.
i will never understand how some people are able to obsessively hate another person for such trivial reasons its almost like they have nothing better to do with their day
It's kinda like if I tell everyone that money goes out to charity every time they visit this site, but then I get paid for every visit also. People want to do something good, so they'll click it because money will go out to charity. But I'm taking advantage of that because people like being charitable. I shouldn't be making money off people's charity.
