I don't know why, but in the beginning he provoked it by running towards it, that's why its trying to get near him. The coyote doesn't know better that the man just wanted to film it. And it also is a female by the looks of it.
I'm pretty sure that's his pet. I remember seeing this video sometime ago, and he stated in the comments that it was his, and he's raised it since it was a pup.
It wouldn't surprise me if domesticated coyotes exist. In fact with some of the exotic pets I know of, I'd be more surprised if they didn't exist.
First let me say that it might be possible, but coyotes are harder to domesticate than wolves, but easier to socialize. Now, there are half-breeds of coyotes and dogs that are domestic, called coydogs. And there are also wolf/coyote hybrids. In fact all red wolves are part coyote. Video taken in northern B.C Bites and gnaws on my boot. Will not stop coming after me.
Get outta here lil guy :3
Coyotes around here are actually considered extremely dangerous, they have attacked multiple people and even killed one aspiring artist, they've lost their fear of people I suppose, they're bigger here too because they interbred with wolves. We have a cull for them here, I think it's $50 or so if you destroy one. [editline]5th October 2012[/editline] "On May 15, 2012, a 14-year-old Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia child's motocross boots helped him survive a coyote attack" "On September 21, 2012, a sixteen-year old New Waterford, Nova Scotia girl was attacked by a coyote while she was walking to school. She had heard some growling in the bushes, but, seeing nothing, continued walking and was hit from behind and knocked down. Just at that moment, a car happened along, and the motorist sounded his horn, scaring the coyote away. The Department of Natural Resources hired a professional to trap the animal." " In October 2009, Canadian folk singer Taylor Mitchell was attacked and fatally injured by three eastern coyotes (also known as the coywolf) while hiking the trail alone around 3pm on a sunny day. It was believed to be the first fatal attack by coyotes since they were first seen on Cape Breton in the 1970s. An earlier coyote attack took place on the trail in 2003, when a teenaged girl hiking with her family was bitten on the arm."
