They're one of the best semi-auto pistols ever made.
As good as they are in function, they're expensive, rather limited in their capacity and Browning has gone nowhere with it's design (no added features like rails etc) which is a bit of a shame for such a great pistol.
Well the current rail system is about the replaced anyways by N.A.R (NATO Accessory Rail) wich will soon also have a system for an integrated power source.
OH god that deagle looks sexy

It's badass too.
It can come with the following type of ammunition:
.218 Bee
.22 Hornet
.223 Remington
.30 Carbine
.41 Magnum
.44 Magnum
.454 Casull
.480 Ruger
.500 S&W
My dad has one, its pretty comfortable to hold, i prefer it over the Springfield XD
So many pretty guns. Few questions though. Read in the Denver Post last week that hunters in Colorado bag 17,000 deer and elk every year, and their population continues to grow.

That is a sexy pistol.
Honestly a Hi-Power would probably be the only 9mm pistol I'd ever buy.
I would just like to say the M14 Socom rocks, speaking from personal experiance of course. M16 is a POS

Of course when you have a shitty mag things don't work so well, but that's true for any weapon.

In Norway around the area Bergen there is a steadily growing population of Deer since all people around there care about is moose (seriously, the one thing you don't wanna hunt in Norway is moose, EVERYBODY HUNTS MOOSE!)

I'd honestly rather have an M16 than that heavy ass thing. The M16's closed action is far more reliable than the M14 ever was.
Not that the M14 is a bad gun by any means, the M16 is just a much smarter choice.

It depends on where you live. Here in Virginia we have a shit load of whitetail deer. It's to the point where they are now a danger. I know tons of people that have had an accident caused by a deer and the trend is rising. There are also a bunch of coyotes and Canada geese. In fact, I just went hunting today. My dad and I took four geese and one duck by the end of the day. All of it is being cooked for Christmas dinner tomorrow.

They've lightened the M14 up quite a bit with the synthetic stocks, while they've only made the M16 heavier with the addition of rails.
While the action on the M16 is solid, since the upper and lower receiver are only held in with two pins they like to wobble a lot and it leaves a small space for a lot of dirt and grime to come in. After a solid day in the field I pop open my M16 and remove the buffer to find nice wads of sand and dirt in there. And if any of that sand finds its way near the gas tube or the bottom side of the bolt (which happened often through the mag well) it is a lot more prone to jamming during rapid fire.
While the M14's action is a lot more "open" it literally just chops through whatever gets into it. I've had clumps of mud behind the action and it just smashed it out.
As for it being a smarter choice, I suppose it all depends on your doctrine.
Personally I like the feel a lot more too. The M16A4 feels wobbly and weird, while the M14 is nice and solid. The recoil really isn't much of an issue either if you're a 1 shot one kill kind of guy.

Most of them I see on Gunbroker go between $800 and $1200 which is expensive if you just want a gun to plink or keep for defense but not for a collector. They are such beautiful and well made guns that were so ahead of their time. The price is justified in my opinion.

What advice would you give to a civilian who is on the fence about buying an M1A? Probably one by Springfield, at that. I really want one and it'll be within my price range here in a year or so but I don't know. It's that or a Sig 556. Don't get me wrong, I love my AR-15. But I just want something a bit more powerful. I find M14 rifles very sexy too.

Well personally I'd get the M1A, for the same reason you said. I've never fired a 556 before but personally I'm not a big fan of the 5.56 Nato hence why I'd stay away from it. Now if you were getting a 550 that would be different. I don't care if it's a 5.56, thats a sexy weapon!

My Colt 604 is rock solid, never had a jam and it's mostly military surplus parts sans the lower receiver. And I'm not talking about M16A4s here, that thing isn't really representative of every M16 out there. My personal preference is the A1, and the M4 is by far the lightest military rifle I've ever held.
I guess it does boil down to personal preference, but neither of the rifles are a "POS".
I wished I lived in America just so I could own a gun. Such beautiful pieces of engineering.

Wow...
My friend got a Romanian Dragunov today for an early Christmas present and he was kind enough to have me come over and put a few rounds through it with him. Man I loved shooting that gun.
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
I was hiding my purchases from my dear spouse.
Some space on the garage shelves now was clear,
In prep for the UPS man, soon to be here.
The children were ready for tomorrow’s trip to the range,
With a stop at the show first with some guns to exchange.
SWMBO* was sleeping, in her teddy of camo,
With her 1911 and hollow point ammo.
But out in the driveway, arose a loud warn,
Of a UPS driver honking his horn.
I lept from the couch to see what was the matter,
Ready to cause, some burglar’s blood spatter.
Away to the front door I flew like a flash,
Causing my beer to fall down with a splash.
Giving a magical glow to all objects below,
Was a winter’s full moon, but in Florida, no snow.
No burglars were outside, instead my good luck
Brought the wondrous sight of a delivery truck.
With my usual driver, a strong fellow named Smitty,
Already stacking my packages in a row, all pretty.
Amazingly fast, out of the truck’s rear they came,
He announced their origins by calling their name.
Here’s one from Centerfire, and another from Bud’s,
To add to my collection of C&R guns.
Ooo, parts for my shotgun, from Scattergun Tech,
When my wife sees the bill, she’ll throttle my neck!
Here’s my upper from Adco, MD Arms sent some drums,
To assist my Tromix Saiga in making my right shoulder numb.
A small box labeled Gemtech brought home my new can,
And still boxes kept coming, out the back of that van.
The biggest was Brownell’s, the smallest, LaRue,
Spike’s sent some AR parts, and Magpul did too.
From the rear of the truck, came Smitty with a bound,
And he lifted some boxes, without making a sound.
He had a Marlboro on his lips, a uniform of brown,
And a David Ragan hat that he wore like a crown.
Up the driveway we went, with the cartons in tow,
Hurrying to get the boxes stowed quickly, so SWMBO won’t know.
“Put that box on that shelf, and that one over here,
Thanks a lot, Smitty, got time for a beer?”
“Not tonight, friend, I have too much to do,
But I sure wouldn’t want to be in your shoes.”
With a frightened expression, I felt my heart race,
When he pointed at the window; in it my wife’s face.
He jumped in his truck, with a laugh and a smile
Jammed it in gear, and spun the rear tires.
I heard him exclaim, from the front of his truck,
Happy Shooting to all, and brother, good luck!

Just an FYI, it's not a Dragunov, it's an FPK, also known as a PSL 54C and ROMAK 3. It's basically just an AK 47 in 7.62x54r. The Dragunov is of a completely different design.

But seriously why hasn't Browning modernized the Hi-Power with any rails of anykind? I mean, they've done it to the Buckmark. Why not the Hi-Power? That just dismays me. :saddowns:
Because I'd seriously leap at the chance to own a tacticool Hi-Power, that would be the cherry on top of the perfected milkshake.

Ok good to know, but still it was awesome and I did notice it looked an awfully lot like the reciever of an AK

Yeah, they're very nice rifles though, I've always wanted one.
I really wish they would get rid of that retarded import ban on Russian and Chinese guns though, I want a real SVD :(
My newest rifle. A Tikka T3.

I put on Burris Scope that Santa gave me for Christmas I had to play with the mounts, the scope is a bit short, but I got it to fit. I went to the range that very afternoon.

At 100 yards sight in only took about 10 round. It shoots a bit high but I think I got it down.
but can you shoot it with no hands like that?
