I have like 4 guns only :smith:
2 Sporterized Krags, 1 Mauser with a Remington stock and a Contender with only one barrel.
I think my next gun should be a shotgun of some kind, too bad there are so strict rules for them (can only apply for use for clay shooting and hunting, and I really want one of those AK-looking semi-auto shotguns)
Like my garage creation? I'm keeping the 22" full choke barrel on it because it groups amazingly tight with 00 buck at 100 yards. It makes a shotgun reasonable to use at medium range... It's light as well, far lighter than the PSL even with that loaded 20 round drum. It's also extremely reliable. I put a auto-adjusting gas plug in it and can run winchester bulk birdshot or 3inch slugs equally well without having to make any adjustments.
Sexy. Have you seen the Guerilla Sniper Rifle by Rifle Dynamics? They sort of 'improve' the PSL by shortening the barrel and doing some other stuff. Considering the work you've already done on your rifle it might not be worth it though.
I'll bet money mine will group tighter at 300 yards than theirs can. With a barrel that short they're losing about 1/3rd of the velocity of the round as well. (19" vs 26.5" you decide.) All a PSL needs is the front handguard floated and everything polished up. If you want to go the extra length you could ditch the compensator and put a thread protector on then have it target crowned. They're also fucking up the bolt by their definition, it's designed the way it is to allow room for dirt to get out of the way.
I'd be confident at shooting 700-1000 yards with mine as it currently sits. Theirs would really not be too effective with steel cored LB ammo beyond 300 yards. It'd lose all its momentum and reach the target around 1200fps, and hit with the force of a 9mm pistol. Where as mine will keep that power up way way past 300 yards. I wouldn't mind the poly stock set on mine and refinishing it with duracoat just to make it a little more durable. I just bought a 440rnd can of LB soviet steel cored today.
I also dislike switching out the optics on the gun. Re-production optics aren't going to be nearly as good as the original IOR german optics. Sure, if you have shitty eyes it might help, but 4 power is plenty enough for me to reach the maximum effective range for the round, plus it isn't going to be nearly as shaky as some super high powered heavy optic.
Any of you know of stocks that have both a stock and pistol grip in same piece for Saiga shotguns?
Kinda like this:

Takes 15 minutes to do it with very very basic tools.

The reason I asked for that type of stock is because of legal reasons. In Norway "standalone" pistolgrips on shotguns are illegal, however, if you have the stock and pistolgrip in one piece, it's legal.
So at my local gunstore they have a small, albeit nice, antique firearm collection. Right now I'm deciding between three rifles out of those. One, a Nagant with soviet markings, dated 1938 I think; an 8mm Turkish Mauser, and the classic Enfield rifle. Now I know the 7.62 and 8 ammo is much easier to get a hold of here in the states but fuck I just love that Enfield so goddamn much. So I'm asking you guys, do any of you know a reliable source of .303 Brit and does anyone know the general quality of Turkish Mauser rifles?
Turkish Mausers are sometimes hit and miss, some are great, some aren't. The ones I've seen are pretty nice though, so I can safely say they're basically just your average Mauser.
I'd go for the Turk if the price was right, it was mostly matching and the condition was good.
[editline]2nd January 2011[/editline]
Also what do you mean by "the classic Enfield rifle". There are ten Enfield variants that I can think of off the top of my head.
Each one being basically a completely different rifle.

plastic guns are gay
I actually want the carbine version of that gun.
it looks like a bb gun
So does the F2000, P90, SCAR and alot of other lethal weapons. (but those three look like they are made by Tupperware)

i dont think so
I'm stripping off the shellac on my K98k. I love how it looks now.
I noticed some wear on the end bayonet lug-holding cap pinned on the front of the stock. Looking at it, it looks as if it's brass. Can anyone confirm this, or is it just my eyes?

It could be rub marks from something. Brass rubs off on steel like graphite on paper.

Just a few bucks more and you can have this:

If it's your cup of tea, the quality is certainly worth the price.

I think it was Mark II but I'm not sure. I'll have to check it out later, I won't be able to get back to the store for a week or more probably. Also the Turk seemed to be in good shape. The finish was alright for a rifle of its age. I pulled the bolt back and it had a ton of wobble to it though which worries me. Don't know if all the serials are matching. Current price is $250 but I might be able to haggle down.
The bolt on my Turk Gewehr 98 is wobbly too, but when it's in and locked down it's solid, and that's all that really matters.

With an instructors license, FN ran a deal on them for $350. Was thinking about picking one up, but I spent the money on a DSLR instead. I dunno anyone who'd want to buy me pistol ammo anyways.

Yeah, on second thought it looks like a huge waste of money.
Thinking of getting a PAL at some point in the near future, interested in hunting. Though I want an antique rifle of some sort, how much do k98/k98k's go for these days? Also looking at M1891/30 (or another variant)
This applies to Canada obviously, so would it actually be possible to find a k98 or a nagant for a good price here and get the ammunition? Hoping somebody living in canada might have an answer.

I have nothing against pump though. This thing is for sure on my list of guns I really really want to own.

Id be really tempted to take it to a trap range to see what all the FUDDs would do :v:
Also it has two 7-round mags, so you can have buckshot in one, and slugs in the other.
Edit: Hell, this thing would be cool if it just had the one magazine.

Bullshit. I need a license to own a god damn .22

Its just a damn cool idea. Ive always like the idea of bullpup shotguns, it only makes sense for them to be bullpup considering that they are most effective at close range.
Plus this thing has the added benefit of a 14 round magazine. Its just straight up awesome as hell.
God damn it Kel Tec just TAKE ALL OF MY MONEY AND GIVE ME RFBs AND KSGs AND ANYTHING ELSE THATS REALLY COOL THAT YOU PLAN TO MAKE IN THE FUTURE.

Probably the front sight being so tall. Thats what does it for me anyway.
