That was the K98a, typically issued to Stormtroopers and the like, everyone else used the full length Gewehr 98.
I take it they are rarer and more expensive than the k98?
Wikipedia says 5 million produced for G98, compared to 14 million for the k98k. :saddowns: I had known what the g98 looked like, but I was always under the impression that it was simply the "K98," too bad less were produced, I like the g98.
How about No. 4's or SMLE's, I figure those must be numerous in Canada given that it used to be the service rifle.
I might go for factory setup, but I still want a pistolgrip. I'll figure it out when I have cash for it.
Much better balanced if you stick with the sporter stock... The bastardized pistol grip things throw the balance of the gun way off and make it awkward and uncomfortable to shoot.
Other option is the saiga SVD style thumbhole stock. I had one on my saiga before I converted it, and it was a little better than the pistolgrip adaptation tacticool garbage.

I EDC a glock 23RTF or a glock 20C depending on my mood.
Pictures are kind of redundant, you know what a glock looks like.

Sit a 10 gauge next to a 3-1/2" 12 gauge.
I doubt you'll hold that opinion any more.

Yeah, the 98a wasn't in production for very long.
Canada actually had their own rifle in WWI, it was a piece of garbage with an almost 100% failure rate. This was the Ross rifle.
I actually saw a MKII Ross a few years ago, I figured it was worth buying just for historical reasons but didn't have the money.

We've put like 300 rounds through it and it jammed like twice, it's amazingly fun to shoot.

Either that or we have a GREAT airsoft scene in the UK. Sure it's not real guns but it's more fun than playing an FPS online and almost as good a substitute for going to a range.
I don't have a problem with the desert eagle, I have a problem with the 50AE.
It has less potential than the 44 magnum version, and a much more expensive harder to find round. In 44 mag the desert eagle does what it was intended for perfectly and it's almost cheap to shoot. In 50, it seems to lack power for hunting and doesn't appear to have an edge on the 44 magnum at all.
I'd like to see you stockpile 500 rounds of 50AE without breaking the bank... Especially just buying from a local gun store.
Can't argue, but we didn't decide what to get it chambered in, we bought it off someone. Although we got an asston of cheap ammunition for it. Regardless, it's a "just-for-fun" weapon, I don't need it for home defense or anything, so finding cartridges isn't exactly an issue either.

My UK Legal EDC Gear (Aside from obvious essentials like phone/wallet/keys) -

Usually it's the Leatherman Wave and 120E for work, and the E2DL for general day to day.
Technically the Spyderco UKPK is 100% legal for EDC here as the blade is under 3in and it's a non locking design, however if I were caught with it on my person, I'd more than likely get charged for carrying with intent.
The Leatherman Wave is Illegal for EDC, although legally I am allowed to carry it to and from place of use with good cause as long as I go there DIRECTLY (so not even allowed to stop for food). I use it at work daily and only live a 3 minute walk away.
If however I were living in the states with a CCW License, I'd probably CCW a CZ-P01. I am a Glock fanboy by heart, but the P01 shoots like a dream compared to a Glock 19, mainly due to the more comfortable grip and heavier weight (better recoil absorbtion). If you're carrying a weapon daily, you have to be comfortable with it and confident using it - after shooting both, I was not only a better shot with the CZ, but it felt more comfortable to handle. The downside though is the increased weight.
The barrel looks like a piece of copper "piiipe"

That looks more like carbon fibre, what possible use would a solar panel have on a barrel?
I decided to sell all my guns a bit back because I live in a very safe town and the nearest firing range is an hour away. How much does a Remmy 870 go for second hand meticulously maintained with a few hundred rounds through it? Two dollars and fifty cents?

I've not heard many good things about the 4th gens. Also I personally do not care for the RTF frame...

I think that it carbonfiber to save weight actually, my teacher used a lathe to remove mass from some barrels, and then added carbonfibers to make stiff enough.
I hope to god that the scope on your Saiga is for slug rounds.
The 12.5MOA ring actually was the exact size of the shot spread with 00 buck at 100 yards.
The top edge of the ring was where it'd drop slugs at 100 yards. It actually worked quite well. It was a 1-4x scope, not some high power one.
Keep in mind that's a 22" full choked barrel that's undersized at exactly .720 bore. It groups very tight. (Yes, you can run slugs through a full choked barrel, just not a screw in choke.)
I don't have the scope on it any more to save on weight, it does good enough with the pistol-like sights. Nice having a drum fed shotgun that weighs less than most rifles.
