I take it you're an expert then. Please tell me how the giant fuckoff milled receiver somehow defies all logic and avoids making it front-heavy, since obviously I'm talking shit.
It's nowhere near as unwieldy as a Minimi, but it is fucking heavy for a rifle of its size.

Riiiiiiiight?
You can apply for any gun actually no matter the age limit, just as long as long as you are an active shooter in a club that has an active regimen with that kind of weapon.

We didn't have any earplugs, but we had paper napkins!

Only handguns and practical shooters stuff are restricted to 21 IIRC.

Very big, very heavy pistol with only 2 rounds and 1 shot...

Its not that heavy, most of the weight is in the gunlock and housing groups which are at the back, the fully loaded magazine also puts more weight on the back, the barrel group including the gas plug and handle are pretty light. Lugging it around is not much of a chore, i'm quite happy with it considering we were originally issued with the FN Fal, which was heavy as fuck.
Honestly, I've never seen that last sentence before. Might be because I've never seen so updated versions. I'll bookmark that tough.
I didn't even read any of it I was fapping to the pics.
I'm assuming you killed whatever lined your chair with that rifle. Would I be wrong?
I have no idea what's on that chair or what it was killed with; it's my parents' (specifically dad's) chair. I shoot on their property, as there aren't really any good full-size ranges around here.

That's gorgeous.
The stock on mine was actually refinished, which is why it's so shiny. Underneath it looks almost exactly like that, and once the top layer begins to really wear off I plan on returning it to its original military finish (i.e. not able to signal passing aircraft when it's sunny out).

Oh hey :australia::respek::australia:
I dunno man, I have muppet arms which probably doesn't help but when it comes to standing shoots I find it a real pig to hold steady because of the weight of that brick of a receiver right over my hand. Prone is fine and though it weighs about as much as a pair of M16s it's not a problem to carry, but actually shouldering it for any period of time gets tiring fast. It's comfy to hold and shoulder though, and since you do most of your shooting on your guts or kneeling out field it's not too bad.
It could be the weight distribution, but an unloaded SLR feels about the same weight as the Steyr. It'd get a lot heavier with a 20-rounder on it, though.
Which corps?

All this talk about Lee Enfields. I want one so bad. Like, I cannot express the need I have for one of those rifles.
How do you guys like yours?

Some info from Mosin-Nagant users would be appreciated as well.
Went to the gun show to pickup some random bits and pieces... Came home and drilled/tapped my receiver for a rail and installed a bipod that matched the gun quite well.

They look nice together.
Lucky bastard, i'm jealous.
Doesn't the bipod make it harder to get the mag out as quickly as before.
Doesn't the bipod make it harder to get the mag out as quickly as before.
Not really, the mags on a PSL really don't rock in like an AK mag. They do, but you pretty much just push them up in the hole.
On the subject of Soviet DMRs, I wonder if anyone's ever converted one of those civ-marketed SVDs (the Tigr I think) into an SVU? That would be pretty sick.

It's fucking awesome. They really are wonderful shooters and they're nice to look at, too.

I'd like to meet someone stupid enough to convert a $3,000 rifle.

I'd do it.
I've never been afraid of hacking up expensive guns lol.
Biggest problem I can see is getting the side rail moved forward and mounted solidly. That'd take extending the side of the receiver.
sorta related to firearms, so i thought i'd share.

I took my level iii kevlar soft armor from a groin pad to the range. Shot it at ~5 feet with god knows what handgun (it was some glock, didnt really look. I rented it) with 9mm FMJ. No penetration , but it flew to the back of the range (ripped off the hangar). It would give you a nasty bruise, but it probably wouldn't kill you.
edit:
i think I posted this earlier, oh well.

... You're supposed to support it with a ballistic medium.

Even with the armour, I wouldn't want to be shot in the groin.

isnt it true that if the bullet hits hard enough you can die from the sheer force of it even if the body armour blocks the round?
isnt it true that if the bullet hits hard enough you can die from the sheer force of it even if the body armour blocks the round?
Yes and no.
Not with handguns. Usually only heard of that happening with 12 gauge slugs.
isnt it true that if the bullet hits hard enough you can die from the sheer force of it even if the body armour blocks the round?
Generally no.
Most of the smaller rounds wouldn't be strong enough to break a rip and spear it into your organs,
and most of the larger rounds would just go through the armour.

Hahaha oh yeah I forgot you guys have really dumb import laws, driving the price on anything full-blown Russian high as all fuck.
Welp.
Any facepunchers that happen to have been to the Academy Firing Range in Palm Springs?

Anything newer than an SKS anyway.
Except for SVT's for some weird, fucked up reason.
