Cushions are allowed and I use one right up under my right foot to elevate it some. I need to raise my score... Out of 300, I've hit 95 prone and 87 standing. My kneeling on the other hand... Well, It's terrible because I cant focus.
I can't lean on my knees at all, I had knee surgery a few years back so now the top of my shin bone sticks out like a bitch.

Seeing as this thread is more about firearm discussion, what are your opinions on the Ruger 10/22?
I love mine. Its a blast to shoot, is infinitely customizable, and is ridiculously simple to clean and maintain.

And Ive never had a single jam with it.
Just picked up a Ruger SR556 today.

Seen those Minimi dressup kits that even turn it into a belt-fed? The thing is fucking ridiculously easy to customise.

UGH. FUCK. Add one to the knee surgery crowd; it took me a little over six months to get full range of motion back, and it's still got fluid sitting outside the joint (i.e. where it shouldn't be). I can use it just fine, but some days it hurts like hell and I'm really apprehensive about kneeling on it or bending it too fast now because it's still sensistive. I was worried for the longest time that I was going to have to discharge over it, all this because I accidentally slammed it sideways into a mound of compacted dirt while getting up.
Fuck knees forever.

I climbed up onto the brick pillar that holds one of the front verandah posts, such a feat would have been impossible pre-surgery lest I risk a dislocation.

You think a 10gr steel dart is going to be a humane kill? God you're an evil person.
They were designed for shooting through trees to wound snipers and give away their position. They aren't very lethal, at least if we're talking about a humane kill. Sure the person/animal may die a few days later though.
No not those, I'm talking about the fin stabilized sabot shells designed specifically for hunting where rifles are banned, genius. "Dart" is just easier to type out than fin stabilized sabot shell. It is nearly a full sized slug, but the sabot simulates rifling and the fin prevents the round from tumbling.
A handful of 8/9 guys does not constitute "most people in the ADF". In my experience opinions are mixed, I personally do like the F88 despite its many drawbacks as it's comfy to shoulder and fire and easy to handle, but the reliability issues are known facts to everyone and they do happen.
Just so we're totally clear,

Really anyone could do it. Doesn't instantly make you an expert cause you signed some papers, people in the army can be dumbasses too.

I'd say it makes me a bit more qualified to pass judgement on the rifle I carry than a random civ who's maybe shot it once or twice, actually.
Aside from which, it wouldn't have come up if he didn't automatically assume anyone criticising the Steyr (which is so far from the best rifle, or even best military rifle, around that it's not funny by the way, and I say this as someone who likes it) couldn't possibly have ever fired one. I'm glad you're keen to jump on the bandwagon without checking context, though.

Picked up this lovely for $215 a few weeks ago. Fun little plinker, but the trigger seems off. Still, not a terrible deal in my eyes.

So many people bought those things that there are gunsmiths that specialize in lightening the trigger pull on them.
Also I know it costs a fortune to send cameraphone pics to my email but I took this pic of my Mini-14 581 series and my JC Higgins 593.23.

The lighting was really bad so it took a couple seconds for it to take the actual photo, any slight movement was registered. I took a dozen or so pictures and that's the only one that turned out sort of OK. It's a camera phone after all.

:sigh: Poor eagle...
Then I realized that we may have a problem... I forgot to set something behind the target box to make sure the bullet wouldn't go flying off into the distance and kill something.

Trigger sucks ass, but can be fixed by removing a couple springs in in the frame where the rear pin is..

You unironically bought a Sigma and are unsure as to why it has a shit trigger? Hooooo boy. This is why we consult friends (as in, knowledgeable friends) before we buy guns.
The Sigma has a horrific trigger, you may as well just palm the thing off to somebody and buy a secondhand Glock (far better quality for the same layout) if you can find one for a price under ~350. You could get the trigger worked on but really it's not worth the time, money or effort for that thing. You will have a hard time finding a quality striker-fired handgun useful for carry for less than that (which explains why you picked a Sigma up so cheap, ba dum tish). I have many, many friends with whom I would trust any decision as far as buying guns with my money goes, and they are unanimous in their insistence that anyone who does own a Sigma should sell it immediately for something better. It's pretty much the epitome of why S&W were doing really badly for a few years until they brought the (excellent) M&P line in.
Also, what calibre is it in? 9mm is fine and underserving of the "WON'T STOP A FLY" bullshit that fudds carry on with, .40 S&W is a stupid calibre that falls between 9mm and .45 ACP in size yet has the advantages of neither, and .45 ACP is good but carries a bit of a price premium most places.
Bean-O: put that bayonet back on your SKS at once mister :argh:
Glock 17 and 200$... Good trade for a Springfield Armory Socom 16?
Bean-O: put that bayonet back on your SKS at once mister :argh:
I can't get the bayonet lug screw out to put the bayonet in and then screw it back in place. But I do still have the bayonet in a box along with some other original parts. I don't have the upper handguard and the grenade launcher had to be removed for it to be CA legal (presumably before it entered CA).

Edit: Oh wait, which are you intending to trade to? I'd rather the Glock and cash myself.

Move to a state that isn't fucking awful then. I hear the Pacific NW states are nice, if I ever move to the US that's where I'm going.
