Being Dutch I only have an air rifle right now (A weihrauch HW-35, still a pretty one) However I'm planning on moving on to getting a license for the real deal later on when I have more dosh. Will I be ever able to get anything above .22/.22lr or 12/20gauge? :shobon: Cause all I can do right now is read and talk in this thread and go on /k/.

Dutch gun law is typical of the Western European approach. Firearm possession is not subject to any constitutional protections, but regulated simply in the Arms and Ammunition Act (Wet Wapens en Munitie). Weapons, including firearms, are divided into four categories, and for each of the categories a certain maximum punishment is set for "voorhanden hebben" (possession), and "dragen" (carrying in public). Only citizens who are hunters, members of shooting sports clubs or legitimate collectors may obtain licenses for firearms. In the case of shooting club members they will get a license for category III weapons (a firearms category which includes all non- full automatic firearms up to .50 cal.). Possession is generally limited to 5 firearms per license. Collectors may obtain a license for any category of firearm, including full automatic arms, but stringent rules apply to achieving collector status. There is no limit to the number of firearms a collector may obtain. Generally the collector license does not cover shooting these weapons.
Read that shit. Now read it again. Alright. 1960's-era-Military-grade Chinese-SKS is ordered. Cheap-as-muck: $189 for the rifle, sling, bayonet, lube and they threw in a free tee-shirt and hard rifle-case. (Listed on their site for $40!). I think that's a pretty sweet deal. ...Now to replace the magazine and buy some ammo...

They're not the best money can buy, but for that price, it's pretty damn good.

I'm trying os hard to find a ten round fixed magazine for my newly acquired SKS... mine comes pinned at 5 rounds...
Oh. It was meant like "now read that shit. look at that. goddamn 50 cal. damn motherfucker", not "read this shit fag"
Which actually surprised me. living in such a "guns are bad" country yet they allow people to jump around with 50 cal if they have the right piece of paper. What would you even do with a 50 cal.

to those getting the Chinese sks. If you want mags, then get these Tapco 20 rounders: Depends on the area of course...
I'm trying os hard to find a ten round fixed magazine for my newly acquired SKS... mine comes pinned at 5 rounds...
Aren't you limited to 5 rounds by law?

they're good mags even if they do look like shit
It's the principle, man!
There is a reason poorly modified guns are known as "Tapco-fucked"
This is tapcofuck: [img_thumb]http://www.ifatactical.com/files/1772952/uploaded/SKS%20T6%20Lower%20Rail%20BK.jpg[/img_thumb] This is not: [img_thumb]http://img97.imageshack.us/img97/1705/imgp0570m.jpg[/img_thumb].
I'm trying os hard to find a ten round fixed magazine for my newly acquired SKS... mine comes pinned at 5 rounds...
You are only allowed to have a rifle magazines if they are capped at five rounds. Any rifle magazine higher than five rounds is illegal for any licensed individual to possess.

If so how did you manage to buy that gun while not knowing even the basics of Canadian gun laws... Shit ain't right.
I don't understand the feverish defense of SKS's. They are not historically significant in any fashion. They started production in 1945 and were overshadowed just a few years later in 1949 with the AK-47. The only historically significant fact that makes the SKS interesting is the fact that the AK-47 raped it so thoroughly that massive numbers of the things wound up on the surplus market. If people want to mod the gun with modern tech, then let 'em. Now if they wanna take apart something like a Kar98k that saw service in WWII and is in good condition, then sure rip into them.

It's seen use in a good handful of wars and is extremely common next to its automatic cousin, the '47.
The first gun on here is a Finnish 20mm Lahti L-39. Anti-tank and improvised Anti-aircraft weapon. Used during the Winter War it proved highly effective against Soviet armor. I love this gun and have been studying up on it for awhile now. A newer version of the 20mm is out named the 20mm Ansio. Similar look to a Barret, this monster stands at 6' 8'' and is available from 59 to 130 lbs.
I dunno man, something like this is still wrong: @ Gunfox
Horrifically wrong.
I don't really care about people sporterizing their guns. Like gunfox said, if it didn't see service and is just some milsurp gun, what's wrong? I don't even cringe when I see a sporterized mosin. I just think it looks ugly as fuck, but whatever floats someones boat. Especially since most of the changes are easily reversible. I don't see a point when people drill into their mosins to add a scope. I'd rather do it a way that can be reversed.
