Something else I think. I'd agree on the principle of actually buying things for a practical purpose, but if you want a fun range toy then go hog wild I guess. I wouldn't buy one, but that's because I can think of loads of other things I'd have more fun with.
I have an M1 Garand, not shot before(I think) Because I have never shot it. But it's still secksy :hawaaaafap:
How could you possibly own an M1 Garand, yet never use it?
How could you possibly own an M1 Garand, yet never use it?
probably daddy's
I'm just going to say it's rather unlikely that it's never been shot.
Hay guys, am i doing it rite?

When I get my gun, and I try that to post pictures and be ironic, with my luck it will probably go off. Even if its unloaded.
Anyone here get a chance to shoot a Browning M1919A1? Real fun gun to shoot.
rated useful because it's true
I like how kiddies go "I have x" and then post pictures and brag even though its not actually theirs. It was pretty fuckin' rad. [editline]8th February 2011[/editline]
So, pay more for a gun with more recoil, less versatility, and in a bulkier size. I hate living in the suburbs during the winter, I have no place to shoot outside that isn't inaccessible from snow, and the only indoor range only permits handguns.
My turn to show off my pen collection. Check out the elegant beauty... How much do those pens go for?
I'm just going to say it's rather unlikely that it's never been shot.
This. Milsurp has almost always been shot, if nothing else than at the factory to check accuracy and make sure it doesn't explode or anything. Hell, I know all our F88s are fired numerous times at the factory before they even reach the Army. Also, I could pull the trigger on my No.4 all day inside the house and it wouldn't go off. It gets triple-checked by me and then confirmed by someone else (wherever possible) before it comes indoors, and I keep it decocked to avoid wearing the mainspring out. The sear doesn't engage the cocking piece when it's decocked, so pulling the trigger does literally nothing. :science: Trigger discipline is important, but it's pretty stupid to get worked up over people putting things through the trigger guard to stand weapons up for a photo. If there's any chance of it going off then (i.e. it's loaded and cocked), I'm pretty sure trigger discipline is the least of their problems.
Most original Garands have been near shot to death too, they may have fallen out of favor for the latest and greatest after the Korean war but then they found their way into training and the like. A lot of people seem to forget this.
Hey guys, anyone wanna sell me a minimi? No? Ok :smith: If I ever somehow own one I will be the happiest man alive.
Join the Australian army, we got plenty. Or just hop in the cadets... i shot one there.
Hey guys, anyone wanna sell me a minimi? No? The Minimi also gets really boring to shoot really fast.
Join the Australian army, we got plenty. I'd actually be interested in that because it's really the first in history. It'd be great for shooting skeet. I was just calling the S&W stupid because it's a higher-end maker, stooping to novelty guns that they aren't going to be able to sell. 28 gauge is a excellent water foul and skeet competition round, but there's nothing more than birdshot available for it. Birdshot from a 10 gauge is still exceptionally weak against anything bigger than a small dog. [editline]8th February 2011[/editline] Also anyone considering a judge needs to read this. You have total energy pretty much equal to a 380, with a .410 slug from the judge http://www.americanrifleman.org/Webcontent/pdf/2009-6/200961143754-thejudgerules.pdf The new PDX1 round is only moving at around 750fps, and is just as weak. 3" 000 buck is going to have decent stopping power inside of 15 feet. That's the only round that can be realistically considered for self defense, anything else is going to have excessive recoil and absolutely no terminal performance at all. In any case, do you think a 36 caliber ball weighing only 75gr and moving only 800fps is going to do much? That's around 32acp power range. So you have a massive super heavy revolver that can only match 5 shots from a 32acp, but with heavy recoil and no usability past 15 feet.
I'd actually be interested in that because it's really the first in history. It'd be great for shooting skeet.
It'd be a great fudd-troller at the trap range :v:
Is that a Colt SP1?!?
No, because it has the forward assist...
No, because it has the forward assist...
The front receiver pin has the indent for a screwdriver. Plus it's a slab side. I'm pretty sure it's an SP1. He could have possible switched out the upper, which explains the handguard, but we'll really never know unless he just says yes or no on it

I don't abuse my rank, and i try to make ever other NCO not abuse theirs. I try to get rid of this stupid "I'm going to go on a camp and shoot people like i do it COD, CSS, Halo". I pay my respects to Army, Navy and Air Force officers and NCO's. If you don't tell your recruiting officer or your training officer that you were in the cadets you won't have a problem.

Please enlighten me because even my 12 ga. is pretty damn powerful even with birdshot.
Hand cannon? No, I believe that would be called a Wrist Breaker
By your logic a 450 Marlin in a handgun would be a wrist breaker even though it isn't (but it doesn't make it anyless painful to shoot). It cannot break your wrist unless you have jelly bones, which is unlikely. The worst thing that can happen firing one of those big guns is you not holding onto it properly when firing it, thus sending it flying back into your face. Anyway those Taurus revolvers have some really nifty recoil reducing trickery in the grips which is kinda cool.
