Anyone own a CZ-82 or have any experience with one? I'm thinking about buying one soon, mainly just for a plinker/backup, but I also like the look and history of the gun. Plus you can get em for around 200 bones. Any incite or reliable links with good deals would be nice. This is what I'm lookin' at.. http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=F3CZ82
Get something that actually looks good, such as a Tokarev TT-33, they operate look different but have similar characteristics.
I think I have a way we could make some machine guns exempt of the need of a tax stamp. Legalize all water cooled machine guns made before 2000, and require them to be rendered irremovable from their tripods or wheel mounts. They'll still cost quite a bit, and no one's going to shoot up a mall with a MG08 unless they drive their truck through the damned place.

That works I guess.
Anyone know if Czech contract K98ks are any good? Not the VZ24s but the Mausers the Czechs built for the Germans while they were under occupation. I've found one with the enlarged winter trigger guard that's all matching, good bore, etc for $250. Do they have the Nazi markings and whatnot? Were they actually used by the Germans in WW2? I'm considering either that or trying my luck with an Russian Capture Mauser.

Some of the time with Russian capture you get these slav chopped up Mausers with all different non matching parts (some may even be damaged slightly), and they usually dunked the rifles in this shitty glossy glaze/varnish so the wood will probably look weird. Not all Russian captures are like that, but a vast majority are.

Might want to make sure that they aren't.
Get something that actually looks good, such as a Tokarev TT-33, they operate look different but have similar characteristics.
I made up my mind.. personally I just love the look of this: I ordered the same grips too.. Can't really go wrong for 200 bucks.
Wrong. There is a widespread misconception that a number of treaties have banned use of the .50 BMG against human targets, and recruits have been advised by generations of drill instructors to only aim a .50 BMG at an enemy soldier's web gear or other equipment worn on his body. However, the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's office has issued a legal opinion that the .50 BMG and even the Raufoss Mk 211 round are legal for use against enemy personnel.

Then the M2's we have mounted on all those vehicles would also be illegal to engage human targets with. And from there we could extrapolate all kinds of craziness. So no, you can shoot people all day long with .50 bmg and the conventions won't be an issue.
America's Army 2.0 lied to me :saddowns:
I played around with a PSL at a local range, it was quite fun, guy said that it was pretty easy to find spare mags for it as well. Though weren't you just telling us how we should save for a better weapon than going with a Romanian clone? :P
Because those weren't victim to the Clinton AWB, and didn't get dremeled. Plus, what is a PSL a clone of? It's an RPK basically.
Mmm... 600-700 bucks for a semi-auto rifle that can pull either 1.5MOA if it's a good one and 4MOA if it's a lemon. Call it Russian Roulette but you can't call it a rip-off. And it isn't meant to be a sniper rifle. The SVD isn't either. They're both DMRs.

It's also an RC, so there's a good chance yours would be too. They're pretty much the same quality as any other K98. True sniper rifles are pretty pointless to own unless you have the skills to back one up. A few years of shooting experience and some training isn't going to cut it. The whole MOA thing usually ends up being pretty pointless anyway. I hear so many people brag about their guns being able to shoot 1MOA while they can't even hold a hand sized pattern at 100 yards. I don't think many people realize 1MOA=1" at 100 yards. For fucks sakes, a tiny wind gust around the 50 yard mark could throw you off 3MOA...
Yeah, I might want to stay out of /k/ for a while... http://filesmelt.com/dl/kWTF.bmp

Just ordered an Italian Vetterli rifle made in 1890 for $225 and a Japanese WW2 helmet (forgot the exact designation). Shit yes. Decided I'd get a K98 or Type 99 some other time and go for something older than fuck. [editline]08:53PM[/editline] Tetsu-Bo, that's the name of the helmet.
Just ordered an Italian Vetterli rifle made in 1890 for $225
Now that is an archaic gun. I bet the steampunks would jizz over it.
Now that is an archaic gun. I bet the steampunks would jizz over it.
Hah, why do you think I bought it? I just need to find some low power 6.5mm Carcano rounds so I can shoot it. It's one of the Vetterli rifles that the Italians converted to fire 6.5MM Carcano from Carcano en-bloc clips in WW1. Here's the shitty pic of it from the gunbroker auction: The close ups look much better, and from what I can tell it's in good condition.

That pic with the girl with the M16 in her poonany got her 'inspired'.

Would mounting an optic on an SKS be a good idea? I generally don't use glass, but I was thinking about getting some shit off CTD and throwing it on there for the hell of it. It's a shitty Chinese one and I was looking at a Yugo or even some sort of AK to replace it. [editline]04:26PM[/editline]
No class my friend, no class.
Sorta agree on that statement. But... then again, I never really like Italian weapons. German ftw. Needle gun is pretty damn sexy.
