AMD 65.. what makes this weapons special? anyone know anything about it? and the M39. Isn't this supposed to replace the M14 EBR..?
The AMD was Hungary's version of the AK. Still the same basic gun just with a vertical foregrip, muzzle brake and despite the way it looks the stock is much more stable than the underfolder. Also when it comes to "phasing out" that means phasing out, not dropping everything and switching overnight. That kind of a process takes years.
ah, thanks!
By the way if you want they actually sell semi-auto variants in the states. You just have to live somewhere other than California, DC or NYC. http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/storeproduct446.aspx
Needs more Smith & Wesson 500 Look at the size of that bullet :fappery:
Fuck assembly lines.
Lol Chechen rebels. You know who to go to for guns when the apocalypse comes though.
Hey guys Mosin Nagant M44 Best rifle of WW2
M44 is an utter piece of shit compared to both the m38 as well as the m91/30. It is heavier than both of them, even though it is a carbine. Oh, and it's also ugly as fuck. In my opinion however, Mausers are better than Mosins in ever way, but don't take this the wrong way, I love both of my Mosins too, I just like my Mausers more.
Try to keep this thread away from the political bullshit.
But that picture is obviously a christian conservative who voted for George Bush, and is in all probability from Texas, and he has a huge gun in his hands with which he will kill non-christians and liberals. There has to be political and philosophical discussion in this thread. He's also fat, so inc fat american jokes too Rate dumb if the south makes you sick
I really want to buy a K98 but I'm too lazy to spend the $175 and get my long gun liscence. [editline]05:21PM[/editline] Lol no. Overpowered round with a lot of recoil. Mass produced so quality wasn't often a factor.
This shows you don't know much. You just called the 7.62x54r an overpowered round with a lot of recoil. The K98 fires an 8x57 which is not only even more overpowered than the 7.62x54r, but also has more recoil. And to be honest, it is not an overpowered rifle. With a bolt action rifle, you usually want a bit more power in it than with a semi-automatic rifle. Obviously being hit with a .223 round will USUALLY take you down when hit in the chest, head, neck, abdomen, anywhere around that area. But being hit with an 8mm or 30-06 in that area will surely bring you down, even if it doesn't kill you it will absolutely knock you on your ass.

I'm considering buying a medium sized rifle. Any suggestions?
Like I said in the last thread, Shooting .45 1 handed is a pretty stupid idea, unless you have a good grip on the SOB.
I tried it once, the funniest part is I actually had more consistent grouping one-handed.
And then God gave us the M-16 to kill all the dino-saurs and homo-sex-uals. And it was gooood.
I'm considering buying a medium sized rifle. Any suggestions?
What are you going to be using it for. If it is going to be a gun you're using for hunting specifically, either a surplus Mosin Nagant 91/30, Yugo/Czech Mauser, as the ammo will come cheap. Although for hunting you might want something along the lines of a Remington 700 chambered in .308 or .270. However if you are looking for a range gun that you can shoot and supply yourself with a month and a half or more ammunition for $80, definitely go for a surplus rifle as stated above.

Then again, cleaning is a bitch.
Like I said in the last thread, Shooting .45 1 handed is a pretty stupid idea, unless you have a good grip on the SOB.
The recoil on most .45's isn't really that bad. It does kick more than a .40 or 9mm, but it's not like it is going to hurt you or the gun to shoot it one handed. And before you pull out the "break yer wrist" thing, people can shoot pistols chambered in .50ae one handed without breaking their wrist, contrary to popular belief, so I doubt a .45 will hurt you that much at all. [editline]01:41PM[/editline]
Meh, I always viewed the AR-15 as a good first rifle.... Then again, cleaning is a bitch.
Good luck finding an AR-15 for under $800, and that would be a generic, probably used AR-15. For buying your first rifle, you do not want a complicated semi-automatic. Even a simple SKS would a bit too iffy for buying as a first rifle. A bolt action on the other hand, you can pretty much do whatever you want to it and it will still fire. Not to mention you can buy 1000 rounds of 7.62x54r or 8x57 a lot cheaper than probably 750 or so rounds of .223.
They have a huge fucking stockpile of like a dozen Mosins at a local dealer for like 200 buxx each. This is a good deal y/n?
They have a huge fucking stockpile of like a dozen Mosins at a local dealer for like 200 buxx each. This is a good deal y/n?
Nah, order them online and have them shipped there. You can usually get them anywhere from $80 - $150 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?groupid=90 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?groupid=95 http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=A76254P300 I believe those links should be useful. However, while shooting with corrosive surplus ammo like this (which is what you'll be firing through pretty much any surplus rifle, Mosin/Mauser/Some7.62x39rifles), just take a rip off of a rag and douse it in windex, and run the rag through the barrel of your rifle.

Only practical use I can see for it is buffalo and grizzly bear hunting.
but i can hold these right away and my hands get all greasy because of it russians are greasy apparently.

Unless he's thick as stone he'll fold like a cheap card table. Big 5 sporting goods frequently has them on sale for 99$ if you don't mind cleaning out a lot of cosmoline which is easier said than done in my experience.
Does anyone else find a .45ACP round easier to control than a .40S&W? I for some reason feel like I can get shots off a bit faster with a .45.
this is a terrible wikipedia copy/paste thread for creepy gun nerds
Yes how dare people have hobbies grrr
Hey guys Mosin Nagant M44 Best rifle of WW2
No, just no, I would much rather have a M91/30 over any other models. But the Mosin Nagants were by no means the best rifle of WWII. Just because they were mass-produced dosent mean anything. And to whoever is saying the 7.62x54R is overpowered should do some research before saying such ignorant things.
i wish i had a gun
this is a terrible wikipedia copy/paste thread for creepy gun nerds
Jealous because his parents won't let him fire any real guns.
Chechen rebels are so fucking awesome at making homemade guns: Anti-material rifle: Grenade launcher for captured GP-30 grenades, even has a safety latch: 7.62x54 assault rifle, mag made of welded together SVD mags: SMG: Talk about resourceful.
