Sounds great. What is 20 gauge like? I've fired several 12 gauge shotguns. Is 20 gauge more expensive?
Less recoil not as expensive IN MOST CASES.
Hey guys!
I will soon be able to own guns (I live in Norway).
I have decided that a double-barreled side by side shotgun is my kind of gun. I have fired a lot of different guns, so I know what I want.
The shotgun will be used for "plinking", or target shooting, but I don't really care about accuracy.
I prefer classic looks, but I don't want to pay much for it.
Any suggestions?
when you get one shoot it like a gangster

"You thought you could get rid of me eh?"
So guys in my local gunshop there what looks an awful lot like a Colt 1851 Reb Navy pistol, it has a leather holster and a powder horn with it, it's going for 80$, I'm almost 100% sure its a replica, but it looks decently old, worn and is a little rusty, but even for a replica 80$ is damn good, think I should get it? will probably take pictures tomorrow.
Black powder shooting, especially with revolvers can be a bit of a chore. Lots of fun but the gun must be cleaned until it is spotless or it will rust.

How's the bore?
Pretty good actually, outsides just a little rusty.
it's very likely, as you deducted, that it's just one of those replicas you can buy in the vacuum-sealed plastic hanging from shelves in places like Bass Pro Shop
it's not worth the effort involved imo unless you're really into that sort of thing

I'm still not 100% on it, I'm good friends with the guy who runs the local history museum, he's really into civil and revolutionary war re-enacting, prolly gonna have him come look at it and tell me if it's worth half a shit.

You can probably tell yourself by looking for a manufacturer's stamp, it's not worth dragging your friend there for. It's probably rusty and cheap because the previous owner didn't clean it very well after firing it (black powder guns corrode easily).
If it was an original no way in hell would it be only $80.
Oh I know it's not an original, but I didn't get too long to look at it, was stopping by in between classes, didn't get a chance to check who made it, that'll be the deciding factor in it really, some companies make really nice ones, and my gunshop doesn't usually traffic in lack powder weapons, I was surprised to even see one down with the other used handguns, but I need to get another good look at it on a day when I don't have class.

$80 is 1/4th of a Sig P6, keep that in mind before deciding if you're just wanting to buy something period

Deff. not making a decision before the gunshow this weekend, got a decent amount of cash saved up for it, however myself being under 21 it's rather difficult for me to get a pistol, I've got a little .22 revolver, bought it off a friend about half a year back, but in my state the only way I can legally get a pistol is by buying it from someone who's not a dealer (usually got a few of those at gunshows) or blackpowder pistols, and I've always liked them, but I'm looking for something tasty at the gunshow first, last one I went too there was a guy (who I bought a shotgun from) who had a kinda beat up CZ 97B for about 300$, never know what you can find.
So I finally bought that Mauser I've been salivating over for months. Get to pick it up tomorrow. $190 at Big 5 plus $100 for 340 rounds of Romanian surplus ammo that I ordered online (which came yesterday).

Google Chuck Mawhinney. There is a very famous incident he was involved in with a night-vision-equipped M14.
Damn, what I need is info on the private manufacture of guns. Specifically I have a sub machine gun of my own design that I would love to build but can't be bothered to make a semi-automatic trigger group for it. Sadly the days of Hiram Maxim and John Browning are long gone I think.

Not really, but from what I've read you need expensive licenses (thousands and thousands of dollars)
If it were me, I'd just make a semi.
I could, but then what's the point? I'm just wondering if there's some kind of loophole regarding private manufacture without intent to sell and without the use of any original parts save for an unmounted .45 caliber barrel. The gun I have in mind would probably be easier to make than a Sten.
That and the gun would be one of a kind and stay that way, I could probably get away with making the gun now and no one would ever know it existed but then I'd be breaking the law and such a story would reflect badly on gun owners as a whole.

I need a good plinker and a good target rifle for precision shooting, this could fill both niches!
I've talked to Rhodesian bush vets that have used both FAL and G3 and the general census is that the M14 is the superior of the two.

Meh, six of one, half a dozen of the other or however that stupid saying goes. Each have their relative pros and cons. Generally speaking though, decent FAL knockoffs/clones are pretty cheap and you can do terrible things to them :fap:

That would look so god damn awesome if it weren't for that fucking dumb looking frame with the rail on it. If that had a normal 1911 frame I would be all over that thing like white on rice.
Edit:
Haha, what the shit, it fires some proprietary .50 round.
