I think it's easier for me because it's been spread out over 2 and a half years...the most expensive single purchase I've made for this gun has been the upper half, which ran me $400...
It's so beautiful. *manly tear* I'm building a 20, 24 or another 16'' this year. Probably wouldn't drop 2 grand on one, maybe 1350> on a 20''
I'm planning on putting together a assault rifle that shoots 12.7mm armor-piercing rounds. With a minishotgun attached under it. And then attach the whole bunch on my M60 machinegun Which is attached on 23 ItK 95 "Sergei" Anti-Aircraft Cannon :smug:

Hey...I'm super cool if I...talk like this...
Making a shot from 500 yards isn't much of an accomplishment for a sniper.
Don't Marines have to be able to hit a man-sized target at 600 metres with just an ironsighted M16 anyway?
Don't Marines have to be able to hit a man-sized target at 600 metres with just an ironsighted M16 anyway?
no marines carry around M2 brownings with acog sites and masterkey shotguns.
no marines carry around M2 brownings with acog sites and masterkey shotguns.
What noobs, why don't they carry around akimbo Model 1887s?
Hey guys should I get a Winchester 1867 in 8x58RD or a Winchester 1873 in .44-40? I want a gun that's cheap to shoot and fun to shoot. Neither are required by law to be registered since they're made before 1890. [editline]12:31AM[/editline] Wallhanger. :v:
As far as I know 8x58RD and .44-40 aren't easy to get, so you better get a get a 10/22, as .22 is much easier to come by. Then again, I don't know much about guns of that age [editline]02:54PM[/editline]
9000 NOK/1450 USD IMHO, it's worth it, I'd prefer a real gun like that instead of a CZ .22 that I was intending to get as my first "real" gun [editline]02:38AM[/editline] I'll most likely keep at my friends house (as he has a gun safe) though.
If it doesn't go as a firearm, you probably don't need a gunsafe either, however, it's really neat to have one. When I'm at Gunsmith school, I have to keep my guns at school, because the apartment I'm renting doesn't have a gunsafe. (but school is like 150 yards away from the apartment :v:)
Ah it wouldn't be an m4 without a load of magpul shite on it. http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-deact_ak74m.htm This site is brilliant, I got a Saiga 12 bore semi from them. It's a work of art. And theres so many versions, also you can get a SVD if they have em in stock, it's a single, mind. Although it's still an SVD.
Ah it wouldn't be an m4 without a load of magpul shite on it.
Magpul shit is good shit. Their magazines are especially good shit.
Magpul shit is good shit. Their magazines are especially good shit.
UBRs are also very good shit
UBRs are also very good shit
Yeah, but mine was too heavy for my taste, so I traded it for an LMT Sopmod, which is a full pound lighter
Hey guys Mosin Nagant M44 Best rifle of WW2
Are you kidding? The M1 Garand practically won us the war. [editline]02:29PM[/editline]
Don't Marines have to be able to hit a man-sized target at 600 metres with just an ironsighted M16 anyway?
It's 1000M but the target is like 6 feet in diameter.
It's 1000M but the target is like 6 feet in diameter.
Bullshit. Snipers are lucky to hit a man sized target at a kilometer. You cannot expect every Jarhead to be able to hit that.
Bullshit. Snipers are lucky to hit a man sized target at a kilometer. You cannot expect every Jarhead to be able to hit that.
6 feet in diameter. That is pretty big. But I am pretty sure it is 500-600 meters. For Marine snipers it may be 1000 meters. But 6 feet is still huge for a target and is still pretty difficult to hit, but not nearly as bad as a man-sized target. And by 6 feet in diameter I have to assume that you mean a circular target that is 6 feet in diameter.
6ft in diameter is big, yes. But not when it's over 3,200 feet away...
Are you kidding? The M1 Garand practically won us the war.
Holy shit. You actually believe that hyperbole?
It's 1000M but the target is like 6 feet in diameter.
Are you insane? Longest range on the Marine Known Distance range is 500yrd, you fire 10 rounds in the prone within a time limit of 10 minutes. The target is a human silhouette measuring 20in across (average width of male shoulders) and 40in tall. The target also has two circles on it. A hit within the torso of the silhouette is counted as a score of 5, within the first circle a 4, within the next a 3, and anywhere else on the paper of the target a 2. The full course of fire for the KD Range is: Stage 1:

15 Rounds (5 in the Sitting, 5 Kneeling, and 5 Standing) in 25 minutes
200 Yard Slow Fire
"Able" Target (Able targets are standard circular range targets)
Stage 2:

10 Rounds Sitting in 60 seconds
200 Yard Rapid Fire
"Dog" Target (Dog target looks like a human silhouette in the prone)
Stage 3:

5 Rounds Sitting in 5 minutes
300 Yard Slow Fire
"Able" Target
Stage 4:

10 Rounds Prone in 60 seconds
300 Yard Rapid Fire
"Dog" Target
Stage 5:

10 Rounds Prone in 10 minutes
500 Yard Slow Fire
"B-Mod" Target (the human silhouette I described above)
Minimum passing score on the KD range is 190/250, with 3 brackets of marksmanship. Full rifle score of a total of 350 points is the KD range score added with the Table 2 range score. Maximum effective range of the M16 on a point target is 600m, maximum effective range on an area target is 800m. This is not to say you can't shoot point targets with the M16 at long ranges, just that the average Marine cannot engage a point target accurately in excess of 600m.
Are you kidding? The M1 Garand practically won us the war.
No weapon won us the war, effective use of them in strategy and tactics did.
You have $1700 to spare, right? Before adding a couple hundred dollars for ammo and cleaning.
In Canada costs us $399 for one of em :smug: [editline]01:48AM[/editline]
No weapon won us the war, effective use of them in strategy and tactics did.
What this guy said
In Canada costs us $399 for one of em :smug:
What manufacturer are you talking about cause I've never seen an M1A for that cheap. Most I find start at $1400 and go up.
What manufacturer are you talking about cause I've never seen an M1A for that cheap. Most I find start at $1400 and go up.
Norinco. Chinese company that is banned from import in the US cause "Communism is evil lul". And despite the stereotype that all Chinese made things are shit, they have strict quality control and all the firearms they make are actually really nice. And retardedly cheap too
No weapon won us the war, effective use of them in strategy and tactics did.
Pretty much. But suffice to say, if it wasn't for the Eastern front, the war probably would've been much more in favor of the Germans.
Norinco. Chinese company that is banned from import in the US cause "Communism is evil lul". And despite the stereotype that all Chinese made things are shit, they have strict quality control and all the firearms they make are actually really nice. And retardedly cheap too
From what I've read it's sometimes hit or miss with these, particularly with the older ones. But they are hard to find in the US because they're currently banned from import. Another problem that arise from these Norinco M14/M1As is that they aren't fully compatible with widely available USGI parts for M14/M1As. I'd still go with SA because I'd like to support a US company more than I would a Chinese. But if you don't have the money for the SA the Norinco isn't a bad choice, just not one I'd be willing to make.
Automatic weapons should be banned for Civi use. And no you crazies, your government isn't going to try to kill you. Jeez. Semi autos and shotguns are perfect for self defence use. The last thing we need is people buying automatics and spraying at a criminal while hitting 5 people behind their target.
And you're an idiot who makes wild generalizations. Thanks for trying to shit on the thread.
Ok seriously. I didn't generalize in my post. I just contributed to the thread. Why so hostile man? Calm down sparky. I'm just putting my point out there.

Yeah, because turning my enemy into gibs is so much better than shredding a limb to keep them the fuck back.
Ok seriously. I didn't generalize in my post. I just contributed to the thread. Why so hostile man? Calm down sparky. The worst that's happened is Prohibition Era violence and that was resolved by making alcohol legal again. Your logic is bullshit and yes it is generalizing because you basically say every person who has one is going to start spraying at criminals like they're Rambo. You're using the "What if" argument that gets people nowhere, you can't give out substantial evidence so you start making up bullshit scenarios that make it seem like you actually have a valid point.
