Yeah, you only need to register any live weapons on the tank. Most tanks are sold with the weapons gutted with a very powerful torch though.
I found evilking's problem....he is from Finland, and BBC has this to say:
Finland toughens its gun laws By Tom Burridge Reporter, BBC World News America When Finland experienced two school shootings in just 10 months it sparked a national debate about the country's relatively relaxed gun laws, now the government hopes new legislation will reduce the number of guns in the country and make another mass shooting less likely in the future. In 2007, 18-year-old Pekka-Eric Auvinen walked into Jokela High School in the town of Tuusula where he was studying. He shot seven pupils and the head teacher, before turning the gun on himself. Nine months later another student walked into his college in the town of Kauhajoki and shot nine pupils and a teacher. These were Finland's first ever school shootings. Many believed that Jokela High was a one-off. But after Kauhajoki people began to question the relative ease with which someone can get a license to own a gun. Even as Finnish politicians were drafting new gun laws another shooting took place. This time there were five victims at a shopping mall in the city of Espoo, near the capital Helsinki. Those laws are now being considered by parliament but they are attracting strong opposition. Shooting is a popular sport in Finland and the right to bear arms is enshrined in the country's constitution. 'Too many guns' According to the Small Arms Survey, an independent research group based in Geneva, Finland has 45 guns to every 100 people. That estimate gives Finland the fourth highest civilian gun ownership levels in the world. FINLAND'S NEW GUN LAWS
The age at which you can get a license for handgun will go up from 15 to 20
People may have to provide proof that they practise sports shooting at a club
Finland’s licensing authority will be able to ask for information about an individual’s mental health before issuing a license The government says there are too many guns in Finland and estimates its legislation would cut the number of gun licenses issued in half. Hand guns were used in all three mass shootings in Finland. It is no coincidence then that the biggest change to the country's gun laws would be the age at which you can get a license to own one. Critics point out that the gunman responsible for Finland's second school shooting was 22, so the new law would have made little difference. The Ministry of the Interior is confident that by reducing the number of hand gun licenses issued it will make another public shooting less likely in the future. But target shooting with hand guns is one of the most popular pastimes in Finland and opponents say the laws will stop young people taking up the sport. The owner of the Helsinki Shooting Club, Otso Vainio, describes the new laws as a "knee-jerk reaction" to the tragic events in Tusuula and Kauhajoki. "What you're doing is just treating the symptoms instead of the underlying problem," he explained. "If someone is planning to go out on a rampage and commit murder suicide and they're truly dedicated to that which is a terrifying thought, there's no way we can keep them from getting their hands on a firearm." Shrine therapy Marko Koskinen was 21 when he was shot dead at his college in the town of Kauhajoki where he was studying in 2008. In Marko's old room his dad Jarmo built a shrine to remember all of the victims. "It was a kind of therapy for me. I wanted to collect all the pictures and I go there very often and every time I go there I think why did we have to lose all these young lives that had such a bright future, for no reason. The gunman at Kauhajoki was student Matti Saari. Before committing mass murder Saari had posted a video on YouTube which showed him firing a handgun. Police officers watched the video and interviewed Saari, but for some reason, which remains unclear they decided not to revoke his gun license. Jarmo Koskinen blames the police for not acting. He welcomes parts of the new legislation, such as raising the age at which you can get a license for a handgun. But he does not think new gun laws are necessary. He wants reassurances that Finland's current gun laws are properly followed and a tragic mistake like the case of Kauhajoki is never allowed to happen again. If you can't see the problem with people owning tanks you are lying to yourself. This is the reason people from other countries laugh at the US. A military state isn't good. All you need is 1 idiot to make millions of dollars worth of damage.
I wish I could buy firearms in the UK

I mean, look at the sort of destruction a machine like that can do WITHOUT the turret. Imagine what that psycho could have done if the gun had been operational (and if it was, if he knew how to use it!)

[editline]08:01PM[/editline] Tanks aren't WMDs. It's just a scary looking direct fire cannon on scary looking treads. You don't ban something because it looks scary.

Goddamnit, I had a great post lined up and everything, and facepunch ate it :sigh: Anyways, essentially what I said was that, the easier and more expanded you make a market for something like, oh, say, TANKS, the more... less desirable people you tend to attract. The easier you make something to purchase, the easier it is for someone whose intentions are less than pure to purchase said object.

I can NOT believe you seriously think people owning fully armed tanks is a good idea. I'd like to see you say that on public television and see what kind of support you get. You all have to remember that the 2nd amendment in modern times deals with self defence. The 2nd amendment doesn't exist so you can roll around and have fun in an Abrams or to play around with things like C4. You have to look at the bigger picture. And no, a tank doesn't just "look scary". If the driver is careful enough, it renders the police basically useless.
You all have to remember that the 2nd amendment in modern times deals with self defence.
No it doesn't. Quit pulling things out of your ass and saying that your bullshit interpretation of written law is fact.
No it doesn't. Quit pulling things out of your ass and saying that your bullshit interpretation of written law is fact.
It is. It used to be the need of a regulated militia to protect democracy. In modern times we have the 2nd amendment for self defence, since our soldiers aren't about to decide it's a good idea to start organizing a military takeover of the US. In the end, all you're doing is trying to use the old excuse for the second amendment in order to justify your needs of joyriding and blowing shit up. This is why nowadays 2nd amendment debates are about self defence rights. They don't talk about how ZEH ARMY IS GOING TO KILL US ALL OH NO.

Nowhere is it written that the second amendment applies only to a citizen's self defense need. The second amendment is really in place as another (and ultimate) piece in the US system of checks and balances that keep relative order in the governing system. So in other words; the government has tanks, thus so should we.
He's probably one of those people that think the "militia" referenced in the amendment refers to the National Guard, which wasnt created until 1903...

Went to a gunbash on sunday and picked up a decent laser for my pistol. It also comes with the converter for a thumbswitch, but the wire just gets in the way.

They don't seem to care about the lack of correlation between gun violence and gun ownership, nor do they seem to care about how optimistic and simple-minded some of their ideals may be. They have argued "You don't need a gun to protect yourself, that's what the Police are for" That would work if the Police could be anywhere at anytime at a moments notice, but that's not going to happen. Not to say the Police aren't doing their job but that's just not possible. For some reason people nowadays seem to believe the Constitution is up for interpretation and doesn't apply to modern times. I am of the opinion that now as always the Constitution should be taken by it's word to prevent any over-zealous persons who may overstep their bounds by saying they are just interpreting the Constitution for modern application and succeed in little more than subverting the Constitution and what it was written to protect and stand for.

Surely with all this equipment someone has had to go on a rampage by now, right?!?! By some of the idiotic logic of some posters on here, it should have. But, oh. Yeah. Right. It has not. Some of the pictures are mine and some are from other's from the event. In the last two pictures you can see me. I am out in the open under the flying B17 in the first one and I am behind the Hetzer on the second, behind the dirt pile with the tan looking helmet (it's actually covered with dirt). Hi! As for websites - you can find websites for reenacting everywhere. A simple google search for "WW2 Reenacting" will get you in the right direction.
