Shorter barrel, usually more recoil.
[editline]02:35AM[/editline]
[QUOTE=mugofdoom;24151678]Umm, I think I could get maybe $5,000+ for all of it.
Around $4,000 would be a bit more realistic though.[/QUOTE]
$4,000? Fuck, some people pay that for an AR-15.

4000 on just an AR-15 is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over the top. you sure you meant 2500?
I wouldn't say it's unheard of.
Looking for a red dot and a side mounted rail for an AKM. Any suggestions? I know cheaper than dirt has one but I'd rather check around before getting it..
Mugofdoom, fucking rad collection. Is that a Mac-11? If so you should totally get a Max-11 upper for it.

I'm checking some of the more expensive retailers...
Most expensive AR-15 I can find is about $2000 (LaRue OBR Lite)
Most expensive AR-10 I can find is around $3000 (POF P308)

It's one of the semi automatic clones made by Masterpiece Arms, the upper would cost twice as much as the gun lol.
I do want to get a full automatic version one of these days, I want a .45 ACP MAC 10 so bad, but there's no way I could afford it at the moment.
Thats a nice collection, I like your SKS and M16A1 very classy.
That's a :smug: collection

My "WW2" Collection of firearms. Have plenty of moderns, but nothing beats the classics.
Top to bottom:
M44 - 1944
M91/30 - 1943
KAR98k - 1943 (Waffenamts are all intact also. Russians must have missed this one.)
M1 Garand (1944 with arsenal replaced barrel sometime in the 60s.)
So I've lurked and occasionally posted in these gun threads for a long time. But I've never shown off my arsenal. Caution, thumbed for big imageness.
[img_thumb]http://filesmelt.com/dl/IMAG0007.jpg[/img_thumb]
From top to bottom:
Browning Gold Hunter Ultralight, 12 Ga. 3" Chamber, 28" barrel
Browning Auto-5, made some time around WWII, 12 Ga. 3" Chamber, 30" barrel
Fausti Ducks Unlimited custom 12 Ga. 3" Chamber, 26" barrel
Colt Sporter AR-15, .223 Remington, Heavy 20" barrel
Remington 870 20 Ga. Youth Model, not sure on chamber or barrel size
Winchester Model 9422 .22 LR, Tribute/Limited Edition/something
Taurus Raging Bull .44 Magnum, 6" Barrel
Taurus PT1911, .45ACP, 5" barrel
And then you can see my ammo stash on the side there.
I'm really liking your M16A1. I thought I heard you say it was a normal lower on a modified A1 upper, is that correct? If so, how much did you pay for it?

Does the 91/30 kick as bad as the M44? I've seen some fucked up shit from those carbines, but never actually fired a nagant (as crazy as that sounds. Though i'm planning on buying one eventually.)
Post your moderns too.

It's a modified A1 lower (for semi auto function only) on an unmodified Colt 604 (not A1, this was the rifle used by the US Air Force) Upper. I'm going to replace the bolt (Bushmaster) with a military full auto bolt one of these days (it won't make it full auto but it'll be more authentic).
I think it cost me just below $700, I built it.

The wood on those is absolutely beautiful, particularly the Garand. Can I have them :v:?
My Garand is from just before Korea, I think 1949, it hasn't been touched since then, but the wood is really dark, most likely partly due to the Cosmoline.
maybe it's just me, but i cannot stand carry handles on m16s or M4s
Hrm, Mugofdoom, how do you like the C96? How fun is it to shoot, how much did it cost you (Both to get and restore, which it apparently really needed)?
I love em, so convenient, and it's just the right height for me to get a good cheek weld and aim without straining myself.

I haven't fired it yet because I still haven't had the barrel relined, it's still not safe to shoot yet. The gun itself cost $400 which, admittedly, was pretty high but I wanted to restore it anyway. It should cost around $200-$250 to get it fully restored, that includes new springs, new extractor, new barrel lining and new grips.
Hey guys someone is offering me a legal Ak-47(non-auto) which is vintage from Russia during the 1960's, and has a pistol grip for $300. Should I save up, and go for it?

personally, i hate too many rails. the only rails i have on my ar15 (and next ar15) will just be the upper rails. a free floating RIS is really too much for me

Umm what? Do you live in the US?
Also pictures of said rifle.
Yes I do live in the USA, and I don't have pictures of it.
If you must know... Minus the scope it looks very much like the one in this picture.

The damn things are more expensive than that when they're in working order, I'd say it's a good deal.
Do you have any shotguns mug? You should get an 1897 or an M12.

Hrm. I can't tell you if it's really Russian without seeing pictures. For $300, if it is indeed Russian with a milled receiver that is the deal of the century but I highly, HIGHLY doubt it's original Russian. Most likely Polish or Chinese, most likely Polish. Even then it's a good deal, just make sure there's nothing wrong with it first.

ask him if you can test fire it
The only thing which is missing is a magazine, but the guy works with a gun making company, and he already has a friend who said he can make them for me for free.
buy a mag and a few rounds of 7.62x39, or if you know it's legit just buy it.

You do know Russian AK's (that aren't Saiga's, anyway) are $1,500 to $2,000 a pop right? You most likely are being offered a Polish AK which looks very similar.
You are most likely getting ripped off man. You sound like the sort who couldn't ever tell, so.
And I couldn't think of a reason for there to be a semi-auto AK in the 60s.
