I disassembled my C96 and now the hammer wont stay cocked :frown:.
Think about it in a good way, load the gun and let go of the hammer. You subconsciously converted it into a crude automatic.
Think about it in a good way, load the gun and let go of the hammer. You subconsciously converted it into a crude automatic.
Can I ask a gunsmith just to identify the problem and not have them fix it?
Not saying I don't like the 5.7, but I hate the diehard "This is the best round/gun of ALL TIME" fanboys. 5.7 is overrated. It is practically on par with a .22 mag hollowpoint for wound channels and a .22 mag hollowpoint out penetrates it. Most 9mm hollowpoint rounds will completely out perform it. Aint no "apples and oranges"
The civilian rounds are virtually worthless. (Which is what is displayed in your comparison) But the SS190 duty rounds rape big time if you actually take into account the fact that they go through body armor like a hot knife through butter. If you aren't packing a ballistic plate, there is a good chance your vest isn't going to stop a 5.7 round. This is in addition to the fact that you can carry a FUCKTON of 5.7 rounds. Like STUPID amounts. Which is handy because the round doesn't recoil hardly at all. So while one round may not be terribly impressive, you can group a lot of rounds into the same area extremely quickly and with little effort. So put it all together and you have a lightweight round which is accurate, can defeat body armor, doesn't over penetrate in soft tissue, and has a recoil that makes a 9mm's look huge. It's not a bad round. Buuuuuuut the civilian variant is indeed pretty much useless. The military duty rounds are good for what they are, but they are still special applications, not a primary round. Fun guns though. I have a FiveseveN. That gun is lighter with an extended full 30 round magazine than any of my other pistols are empty.
Can I ask a gunsmith just to identify the problem and not have them fix it?
Probably, at worst he charges you a bit for taking his time to look at it. [editline]08:54PM[/editline]
...You actually want a stupidly oversized pistol? Why not take the one adjacent to it in the same picture. They're both practically the same.
Fuck yeah. I don't give a shit about the size, i want to shoot it, not pack it into tight spaces.
Fuck yeah. I don't give a shit about the size, i want to shoot it, not pack it into tight spaces.
Yeah, but it's kinda pointless. Like I said before: They're both practically the same gun. If you got no problems with that and it works for you though, then I can't really argue.

I'm not saying that i would pick one over the other, i'm just saying i would like to have one. I would gladly take any gun, the more the merrier.
Bit of a bump but I was wondering as to the legality of slug shot for shotguns (12bore) in the US. We can't have it here in Ireland for some convoluted reason although I managed to get my hands on a a box recently and had great fun with them.
MP40's ftw

Just need an ID to prove you are over 18 and it's all yours (In Colorado at least)
Is the Desert Eagle actually used anywhere?
Is the Desert Eagle actually used anywhere?
It's sometime used as a Target pistol (as it was designed for) but it's mostly used as movie props and a personal collector gun. If it wasn't for it's popularity and fame it would have been discontinued a long time ago. Like the jatimatic...I loved the Jaticmatic.
I'm going to IWA 2011 :neckbeard:
Recently got back from a RDF assessment camp, got to get my hands on the Styer AUG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steyr_Aug) again. It was a great weekend out, we also had a GPMG (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FN_MAG) in our section, If you want to ask any questions on either of these weapons feel free to ask me about them. Welp I fixed my C96, I had forgotten put it on the trigger sear resetter spring thingy.

damn I kinda want a scoped nugget. Got to dick with one at the local gun store and I was loving the scope fit me perfectly (if that makes sense) Shame practically every gun store in existence overprices these guns like ten fold. Fucking sniper nugget should not cost $900. The scope rail/mount and the old soviet scope does not equal $700 markup drool worthy pics:
The civilian rounds are virtually worthless. (Which is what is displayed in your comparison) But the SS190 duty rounds rape big time
Would you please stop posting in firearms threads? You repeatedly prove you have no concept of what you're talking about. Hell, just what was displayed there was a massive difference... There's a bigger difference displayed there than between 9mm and 45acp. The SS190 doesn't outperform the civilian rounds except against body armor. In every other test, against bare gel, they penetrate roughly equal to all the civilian offerings. In some cases, the civilian offerings cause a larger permanent wound cavity. The only thing that has a slight edge is the SS198, but we're still talking a very very slight edge. I doubt you've ever heard of the SS198 for that matter. Comes in a red box and is available for direct sale to police/military, unlike the SS190 which requires department signoff. It's a hotter loaded SS192, or if you don't know what the SS192 is... the SS198 is a hotter loaded SS195 without the ridiculous lead free primers.
Dear god, that's ugly [img_thumb]http://world.guns.ru/rifle/k31-bolt.jpg[/img_thumb]
The quality is uncomparable to anything else of the same category. One of the only rifles around that has a straight pull bolt action. It's also a tack driver.
I was shooting the number 8 rifle in cadets yesterday loved it!
I was Shoot the number 8 rifle in cadets yesterday loved it!
did you manage to shoot yourself in the head with it? I think your language skills were effected
Lol people always shit talk Hi-Points but hey, they seem to do their job which is make the firing pin hit the primer. Funny Hi-Point torture:

The gun is very ergonomic. The fact that you can also pack more rounds into a light, compact package is pretty fuckin awesome. I've only shot the civilian loads and unfortunately don't know anyone with a Fiveseven. But I believe you that it's light. The 5.7 rounds is extremely fun, but for the price and the fact I'd probably only use it at the range, I think I'll stick to .22LR and the like. I'm not getting involved in the ballistics debate though. All we were shooting that day were clay pigeons set into a hillside so I don't really know what kind of penetration it offers. All I know it's that it is fun and light as fuck.
TAURUS 617 357 Magnum, going for 299.00 on gunbroker. I'm really, really temped to get it because my neighbor across the way has that model and it's a hoot to shoot
