My teacher has two, one regular and one Super Blackhawk. They are both sexy, and the regular Blackhawk is really fun to shoot too.

Allright, .40 Spl!
Hey y'all! I'm still looking for handguns, but I'm going to worry about finishing that list up later :)
Right now, I'm trying to figure out attachments. Please note that I'm not really interested in tactic00l overkill, but also remember that this is going to be an action game for more than just people really interested in super accurate realism. Otherwise, you'd only get one life and once you die you have to wait 18 years before playing again :(
Furthermore, giving players options and customization is something we are very interested in as a (very small) development studio.
These are some of the potential attachments I've come up so far (and not all of them are available for all categories nor can you use them all at the same time):
Red Dot Sight
Visible Laser Sight (night maps are going to be something we're really excited about)
Infrared Laser Sight
4x Scope
6x Scope
12x Scope
Foregrip
Bipod
I'm using generic functional names because if I started using actual trademarked names, then I'd have to start figuring out individual weapon compatibility and oh man...this design research phase would never end. The same goes for silencers and other attachments being usable on weapons that normally can't fit them; that's a game balance/design issue. And like in any game, those take precedent over what's actually possible in reality.
Silencer

Haha, forgot to include that in the post but it's already in the list :)

Don't bother with the 6x scope. Just put it a 3-9x scope and be done with it. Implement a way to increase/decrease zoom

It's best if he keeps that out, you want the control set up as simple as possible.

tell that to ArmA 2
tell that to ArmA 2
And we're very much avoiding trying to make our game to be like ARMA 2.
I love ARMA 2, but ARMA 2 already does ARMA 2 very well. We don't want to go into that style. There's overambitious and then there's just crazy ;]
Have some military/gun porn!

I'd hit that but in CA they wouldn't ship with mags.
Goddammit, its a great deal (it was nightsights, too!), but i just got a shiney almost-new Mossberg 500 with extras. I don't think i can buy another gun just yet :saddowns:

um fuck yeah.
I live in Canada and it's difficult to get handguns here, mainly because of all of the paperwork. I've fallen to the .357 Magnum as the cartridge I would like to buy one in (After I wait MONTHS to get the license and application forms and such) because we've already got the reloading equipment (found it somewhere, don't ask.)
I was thinking something along the lines of a S & W Model 627. Good idea?
Attachments worth putting in a game for weapons are the Aimpoint CompM4, EOTech, ACOG, and then something that's 5-10x mil-dot or something. The last is probably not very useful if you have small claustrophobic maps with view distances no larger than 400 meters, but everything else is fine.
Then you have foregrips, lasers (Integrate both IR and visible, there are ones that do that), Grip Pod, and bipod. Sound suppressors, muzzle brakes, flash hiders, combined flash hiders and muzzle brakes, etc. That's the maximum you'd need.

Hey fellow Canadian!
Yeah our laws suck and are worthless but it could be worse, we could be England.
