Looks nice, What is it?
Daniel Defense 5.56mm M4 Carbine. No iron sights just rails. That's all I really know, I might ask my dad tomorrow when he's awake.
Bolt musta been a bitch to use
Yeah it was, while the Thornycroft was far easier to use than the Springfield 1903 bullpup, they were both pretty much dropped solely because of shitty ergonomics and excessive recoil. [editline]1st December 2010[/editline] Another Thornycroft rifle proposed to the British government. This one looks a bit easier to use but doesn't really look like much of an advantage.
Looks like ergonomics on operating that bolt would be a serious pain in the ass (or the upper arm)
I have a question: Why did the M3 SMG fire so slowly? (450RPM) They intended to replace the Thompson, which fired much faster (600-1200RPM)

The Night Before Christmas; Gun Enthusiast style:
Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, I was hiding my purchases from my dear spouse. Some space on the garage shelves now was clear, In prep for the UPS man, soon to be here. The children were ready for tomorrow’s trip to the range, With a stop at the show first with some guns to exchange. SWMBO* was sleeping, in her teddy of camo, With her 1911 and hollow point ammo. But out in the driveway, arose a loud warn, Of a UPS driver honking his horn. I lept from the couch to see what was the matter, Ready to cause, some burglar’s blood spatter. Away to the front door I flew like a flash, Causing my beer to fall down with a splash. Giving a magical glow to all objects below, Was a winter’s full moon, but in Florida, no snow. No burglars were outside, instead my good luck Brought the wondrous sight of a delivery truck. With my usual driver, a strong fellow named Smitty, Already stacking my packages in a row, all pretty. Amazingly fast, out of the truck’s rear they came, He announced their origins by calling their name. Here’s one from Centerfire, and another from Bud’s, To add to my collection of C&R guns. Ooo, parts for my shotgun, from Scattergun Tech, When my wife sees the bill, she’ll throttle my neck! Here’s my upper from Adco, MD Arms sent some drums, To assist my Tromix Saiga in making my right shoulder numb. A small box labeled Gemtech brought home my new can, And still boxes kept coming, out the back of that van. The biggest was Brownell’s, the smallest, LaRue, Spike’s sent some AR parts, and Magpul did too. From the rear of the truck, came Smitty with a bound, And he lifted some boxes, without making a sound. He had a Marlboro on his lips, a uniform of brown, And a David Ragan hat that he wore like a crown. Up the driveway we went, with the cartons in tow, Hurrying to get the boxes stowed quickly, so SWMBO won’t know. “Put that box on that shelf, and that one over here, Thanks a lot, Smitty, got time for a beer?” “Not tonight, friend, I have too much to do, But I sure wouldn’t want to be in your shoes.” With a frightened expression, I felt my heart race, When he pointed at the window; in it my wife’s face. He jumped in his truck, with a laugh and a smile Jammed it in gear, and spun the rear tires. I heard him exclaim, from the front of his truck, Happy Shooting to all, and brother, good luck! So I'm ordering a Century AK-74 or Century FAL this week. Anyone have any input? I've heard it's hit or miss with century.. [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline] Oh, and FUCK the COD: MW series. Anyone who gets their firearm knowledge from those games is a fucking idiot.. [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline]
One of the only rifles around that has a straight pull bolt action.
Ummm...M95 Steyr?

They do a good job when they set their minds straight, but they usually don't. Eh, rephrasing that. A lot of their stuff isn't pieces of shit, but just not high quality.
Ever dreamt of cleaning an early Russian SKS, and suddenly the spring-loaded firing pin embeds itself into your skull? :ohdear:
My dad was cleaning his Browning buckmark and the spring decided that it was a bird, and flew about 2 inches from my face and stuck its self into the insulation. that could of been bad.
Needs more pictures of Russian weapons :( Like the OTs-14 or the OTs-33.
Or the AK47, Dragnov, and AK74u [editline]2nd December 2010[/editline]
Does anyone else find a .45ACP round easier to control than a .40S&W? I for some reason feel like I can get shots off a bit faster with a .45.
Maybe because the grain count on a .45ACP is higher, and creates more recoil which makes the firearm cycle faster, allowing you to shoot slightly faster than a .40S&W. THERES A DIFFERENCE

If you must get the FAL, make sure you can test the headspace before you buy it, Century is known to be absolutely horrid with headspacing, sometimes getting it perfect, sometimes getting it absolutely wrong, you're really gambling your money with the FAL. The AK should be perfectly fine though. What model are you getting?

Same exact gun too. The gun itself is fine, though personally I'd get some real Russian wood for it later on down the road, it's a bit expensive but holy fuck is it sexy.
Yet Century's have mastered the art of installing crooked front sights...
I'm pretty sure the newer generations of 47s and 74s don't have that problem, just the older WASR-10s.

I have a century arms AK-47 in 7.62x39 and it is a super nice gun, I paid a little too much for it but I'm still happy with it. it is a really sweet gun to shoot and I am looking to upgrade the furniture on it as the stock is the mini-stock they put on them and I want a folding stock or the original style, any suggestions mugofdoom?

They're super comfortable, and they just look right on an AK. Plus, get it in the light, and it practically shimmers, the different layers of wood will switch colors as you move it. Shit is fucking beautiful and totally worth the high price. If you want a folding stock, I don't really know any decent ones because I only stick to original military stuff. Best of luck regardless.

It's handy for storage.

Shot a Remington made 1911 today, honestly the best handgun I've shot so far. (I've only shot the H&K P7 and the Ruger Blackhawk) We also blew up a Krag just to see what would happen if you took the wrong gunpowder when reloading. I'll up some pics in a moment. It was range day with my class today. I also helped looking for errors on a Infinity or Kimber 1911 today. By shooting it :smug: Best class ever.

I know you might be thinking "Oh what a dumbass, that destroys a rifle like that", but about that Krag, it was delivered to my teacher (who is a gunsmith aswell) for destruction anyways.
