I was saying, I can't decide between a Ruger Mk. II or III or a Luger P08.
I'd go for the Luger, because then you have the right gun incase you might get the feel for some marching :v: [editline]4th December 2010[/editline]
Well, if they're really as expensive as Zombiefreak said, I might buy a semi-auto instead. Also, is there any guarantee that the guns on Gunbroker are not broken or bad quality?
They are usually shipped to an FFL dealer, so if you call the dealer and ask him check out the gun before you get it. There's also usuall a lot of pictures of the gun on Gunbroker
Well, if they're really as expensive as Zombiefreak said, I might buy a semi-auto instead. Also, is there any guarantee that the guns on Gunbroker are not broken or bad quality?
99% of the people on gunbroker don't lie about the auctions.
Alright. Thanks for the help everyone.
Guns are bad mm'kay
Do you guys normally buy ammunition in bulk or do you just buy what you need?
I usually just buy a 'small' amount of bulk (500 rounds of 9mm for 20$ at Walmart, FTW) But sometimes i'll just buy what I need.
Hello there, gun nerds. I have just recently begun looking into automatic weapons and shooting them. What automatic rifle do you guys recommend as a first gun? My budget is about 500 dollars. I have about a year of experience in shooting bolt action rifles, semi-automatics and pistols.
You won't be able to buy one with $500.
Usually stuck bits can be drilled out pretty easily.
Not when the drill bit is barely any bigger than a needle. I got it all sorted out though, I got a vent liner in and I test fired it just a few minutes ago. There's no "Whoosh-bang" on this thing, it just instantly fires.
Alright. Thanks for the help everyone.
Do you own any guns currently? Cause if it's going to be your first owned gun keep it simple and inexpensive. IMO some form of a .22 semi-auto would be best. Cheap ammo, cheap gun, cheap fun. And you can tacticool them like a gun barbie doll. Ruger 10/22,Remington 597 VTR, Ruger SR-22, just to name a few. Or you can go and buy a Nagant which generally run around $100 or so. The more expensive ammo sort of evens it out compared to buying a more expensive .22 gun but cheap ammo.
Do you guys normally buy ammunition in bulk or do you just buy what you need?
I reload
They do look similar in their handles, but they're really different in terms of function and caliber. The Luger is in 9mm, the Ruger is in .22
This is pretty much what I was saying.
I usually just buy a 'small' amount of bulk (500 rounds of 9mm for 20$ at Walmart, FTW) But sometimes i'll just buy what I need.
Please direct me to the Wal Mart you frequent. 500 rounds for $20? Can't even find 9 where I live anymore.
I get my granduncle to reload ammo for me. I also buy whatever I owe someone if I happen to lend a box of .22 for example.
Bigboy855, why did you rate me dumb?
Bigboy855, why did you rate me dumb?
Accident, sorry.
I reload
is it possible(or even smart) to reload steel/aluminum casings?
is it possible(or even smart) to reload steel/aluminum casings?
It's normally brass, and you tend to make sure theres nothing wrong with the case before you reload it.
Do you guys normally buy ammunition in bulk or do you just buy what you need?
My next purchase will be 1000 rounds of 5.45x39
My next purchase will be 1000 rounds of 5.45x39
How much do you plan to spend on that?
My next purchase will be 1000 rounds of 5.45x39
Can I help you shoot that off ?
How much do you plan to spend on that?
http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=A54539R About $130.
http://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=A54539R About $100.
Holy shit I gotta get myself a 5.45 rifle.
How much do you plan to spend on that?
250 bucks USD from wolf.
Accident, sorry.
Ah, okay then :) [editline]4th December 2010[/editline]
is it possible(or even smart) to reload steel/aluminum casings?
Not too sure. I don't think too many die setups are designed to deal with steel cases...but I have a box of .223 brass and another of 9mm brass. Get to look over each piece one at a time and make sure there is no damage or other signs of problems...had one piece that looked fine, but had a grain of dust or something, locked up my press good. Had to tap out a die pin and then use some cutters to split the case to remove it...
Fucking. Stupid. Australian. laws. It would cost $650AUD+ for that much ammo in Australia... if we had 5.45x39. The only way to get ammo into Australia is to pay huge amounts of money for the import license. Anyway, I put a red dot on my M44 Mosin Nagant... am I a bad person, I also have a Rubber stock end but that's mainly to increase it's length because I have long arms.
Anyway, I put a red dot on my M44 Mosin Nagant...
What the hell is the point in that? It's a damn infantry rifle not a PDW.
It makes it better for IPSC because i can line it up with the target quicker. Also it's x2.
I think the rubber pad is just because you're soft...
at least I shoot real pistol, not .22 target. Also i hope you feel big knowing that you rated your self.
