I listen to these guys every now and again.
also, not sure if it's been posted but here's the promo for their EP.

I can't stand people who don't like the music just because of the lyrics and them being Christian.
I'm not Christian and I still dig this band a lot. I think kiddos are being extremely hypocritical when they get all pissy at Christians for forcing religion on them, then they turn around and act intolerant as fuck towards Christianity. You despise a religion so much that if lyrics have any hint of it in them, it makes your ears bleed? Seriously? Grow the fuck up.
If you don't like it because of the general sound, then that's cool, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think everyone that hates the band because of the name, the song names, or the lyrical content is borderline mentally retarded, though.
I got this EP the day it came out. I like how it's heavier than what they normally put out.
So you'd listen to a racist/homophobic/nazi/whatever band if they just sounded good? You don't give a fuck about what the songs are about?
I can't stand people who only like music because of how it sounds.

Also, that was a really dumb statement.

sure I would, if it sounded good
That's fucking insane
"I support racists if they sound good"
So how come people willingly listen to King Of Carrot Flowers Part 2 & 3 by Neutral Milk Hotel with the lyrics:
"IIIII LOOOOVE YOUUUU JEEESUSSS CHRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIST"
But can't stand listening to:
"In a sea of stinking rot, in a place where living human are no longer the hunter, all the money in the world won't satisfy the enemy"
:bandwagon:
The NMH lyrics are supposed to be sarcastic I think. But you have a point.
It's not too bad, but it's not really my thing. Might give it a full listen sometime later!
This reminds me of the first time I heard The Black Dahlia Murder, it was live and they had already played for a few minutes before we got there because we were checking out something else first.
The first thing I heard the singer say was "This next song is about zombies."
I instantly fell in love with them. :v:
The Black Dahlia Murder is melodic death metal though, not metalcore.

Lyrics matter. Only scene faggots think otherwise. I'm not going to listen to a bunch of ignorant jackasses who are still stupid enough to believe that a magic man floats around in the sky watching everything we do, and then let them bash me for actually being a rational human being. Regardless, their general sound sucks too.
i personally dislike TDWP..

I agree with everything you said except the lyrics, the lyrics are a perfectly fine reason not to like a song. Especially if it's a song strongly based on the lyrical content. Lyrics can make someone love a song or hate a song.

And right now you're bashing them for being Christian.

But that's not the only thing it promotes, and that's not always what people take from it

Ever heard of hell?
But that's not the only thing it promotes, and that's not always what people take from it
That's true, there are lots of freaks out there that give Christianity a bad name. And unfortunately, those people are what most atheists base their view of it on.
I think TDWP fall into that group of freaks.
[editline]04:41PM[/editline]
or that those freaks are their primary audience (even if that is unintentional) at the least

Yeah, it promotes love for and acceptance of everyone, such as the Crusades which millions of innocent people died in the name of something that doesn't exist. Did I mention the stoning of gays?
great job restating my point in the most douchey way possible

Alright they're Christian, but there have been worse things that Christianity has done to music.
when they ruin metal, MY PRECIOUS METAL...
it's worse than stryper
I mean back in the day they MADE music theory.
I'm all down with Gregorian chants too
this is just terrible
Did I mention the stoning of gays?
Americans put coloured people into slavery, they burned women in Europe just cause they had a hunch that they were witches. I refuse to listen to music written in either country. :downs:

music that proclaims America/Europe to be the greatest thing ever*
How did I know that this thread would turn into a shitfest?
OP talked about an EP
You people are talking about slavery and christianity killing millions
you're all fucking retarded lol
D wears P old shit was so much better.
The Black Dahlia Murder is melodic death metal though, not metalcore.
Oh I know, I was just reminded of them simply because of the zombies + music thing. :v:
I know lots of people get up on their high horses about TBDM not being deathcore but I think they are. Well, the way I like to describe them is Americanised Melodeath. Trevor's said that they're melodeath, but due to his love of hardcore some of that has found its way into the music.
Let's be fair they're not that bad, old stuff yeh i's better, I too am not into this album. Some bands need to stop labelling themselves as a christian band, makes them look worse.

So true. It's nothing but pretentious.
