I highly doubt that.

sure he won't be popping pills anymore, but as you can see throughout the episode he is still witty and has that edge to him that only house has.

I am sure that even though he is "out" of the psyche ward, it may still play some parts in later episodes.

I was under the idea that the Asylum would be the main locale for the season, or at least majority of it. I was kinda sad to see the perfect new plot idea killed off in about 2 episodes of a season as well. His potential love interest could have also made a little side plot for the season as well and that was cut short.

I'm really happy they didn't extend this any longer. The Asylum idea would have ruined the appeal. And if they actually change House's character, or expand on this whole "open feelings bla ba not an ass bla bla" stuff, I'm not watching the show anymore. I like House because he's a maniacal asshole of a manipulative genius. Being unable to manipulate, be an ass, or be a genius would be utter shit. Infact, that's what he was in this episode. It made me frustrated.
