Great White Death of '11 - Life Threatening Conditions
144 replies, posted
20 inches of snow is expected to be dumped on Chicago, plus Thunder Snow according to weather.com.
Life Threatening? Here in Canada I'm watching the snow fall from the balcony window with hot chocolate in one hand and a PSP in the other. My life is not threatened.
-15 degrees centigrade today walking from the Highschool to the Jr High this morning, with like 20 mph winds. It wasn't that bad though.
Tomorrow is supposed to be -32 degrees centigrade, and about 50 miles away on the top of Eagle Mountain, winds were about 100 mph.
No snow though.
wah wah wah im cold
There's a thick coat of ice on everything here in Indiana. A couple of my friends claim they were able to use ice skates on the streets.
72 here in San Diego :haw:

No snow. School.

@below
Here we hardly get inches of snow. It's rare to find it snowing, even raining.
I've never had fun in large amounts of snow.

trust me man you'd rather be in school.
Iowa here, this storm aint scaring me.
Here in Wisconsin, we have heavy winds and insane amounts of snow. School was already closed for tomarrow, as announced today. From what I hear on the news and radio, there is plenty of this stuff all over the country.
Of course, the news has hyped it up and claims that the outside brings "Life Threatening Conditions", and advises not to go outside unless an emergancy. Too bad I had to wait outside for the bus, which ended up being ten minutes late. My friend and I got a ride with my dad while bringing my sister to school.
Post pictures and stories about this abundance of snow in this thread! I'll attempt to get some pictures up once I get my camera cable.
I live in Michigan I'm used to snow. Only thing bad so far is the people going ape shit about it.

Here in Chicago it's fucking crazy.
Shit TON of snow, and 50mph winds. Makes driving dangerous as fuck, because snow drifts blind you every other minute...
And the storm hasn't even started yet

Oh ho ho aren't you clever. Not like it's your business but I'm 21.
Indiana isn't getting snow, just sleet and ice. First an ice storm, now sleet everywhere.
Yeah, and the ice is causing major power outages. There are fuck-all people on the road outside my house right now, and I live in Indy. There's too much ice on the roads for INDOT to deal with it all, and IPL and Duke are having to scramble all over the place to fix all these downed power lines and transformers. I've had about six power flashes this evening, fried one of my power strips.
Don't want to be a jerk but that amount of snow is what I consider the year's first decent snowfall. And yes, I do understand that some states don't have snow plows and are not accustomed to driving in this weather. It actually makes me feel pretty boring knowing that it's not exciting to see 4 feet of snow on the ground every day.
OP, what part of Wisconsin do you live in? Where I'm at, we've been getting upwards of at least a foot every day for the past few weeks. For some reason, much of it melts on weekends.

I fucking love snow.
Driving on ice is fun to me.
Almost every state is covered in snow except Florida. That's good, right?
