I got a message from someone saying this.
Hey, I just finished listening to a bunch of the songs from the Facepunch Collab. VII thread. They're awesome! The reason I PM'd you is because I'm staff on a site called FlashFlashRevolution - which is an online DDR clone. I know you may not be the liason for all of the artists on the album(s), but I had to start somewhere I guess? lol. Well anyways, our site has almost 2 million members and is growing every day. It's been up since 2002, and we have over 1000 songs in-game. We need to obtain permission for them all, so that's why I'm asking you if we'd be able to feature some or all of the songs on the VII collab album (and more, possibly?) on the site. Cheers
Sounds pretty cool to me. Agree, disagree?
That's pretty badass.
I got a message from someone saying this. Sounds pretty cool to me. Agree, disagree?
I'd say it is fair to assume everyone will give permission this time around, but the in future you might want to include some sort of clause in the OP saying by submitting songs to the collab you give the collab organizer permission to grant others permission to use their track(s) to avoid any potential conflict when something like this happens.
Can we see an update on the listenin' stats? (Oh yeah and I give permission of course and I agree with what Vedi says about agreeing to grant permission - as long as the permissions aren't too broad)
Yes. Really all you would need to do is say by submitting songs to FP collab that they are filing their songs under Creative Commons for Non Commercial use with Attribution (meaning anyone can use it without permission as long as their use is not commercial in manner (such as reviews etc) and cites the name and song of the artist and links back to this page (or their page) when used)

looks like literally no one tried to promote it lol
looks like literally no one tried to promote it lol
I did, but it doesn't look like many people actually looked at it. Oh well, some is better than none.
Oh, well thanks for trying, yeah. haha didn't mean to diminish your efforts.
I got a message from someone saying this. Sounds pretty cool to me. Agree, disagree?
Make sure he credits the album and the people who made it, and links to it. Also, it's pretty awesome that he wants to continue with the rest of the albums, since it's free publicity.

I release all my songs in creative commons anyway, and I've submitted songs to Newgrounds in the past. I'm completely fine with it.
I own full rights to my song, but I give permission.
I give permission.
I'm fine with it, but I'm not sure my piece would be good for a DDR clone. :v:
I got a message from someone saying this. Sounds pretty cool to me. Agree, disagree?
That is awesome! Sadly my song from the seventh one isn't all that dancey, but I give my permission anyway :v:
I'm fine with it, but I'm not sure my piece would be good for a DDR clone. :v:
20-minute MIDI metal epic definitely fits better.
I got a message from someone saying this. Sounds pretty cool to me. Agree, disagree?
Don't they all have to be dance songs then?
not really. iron maiden songs and the ilk can work fine as well if you know what you're doing.
Don't think my track would be very good for ddr, but i give my permission anyway
Alright, nobody seems to disagree so I"ll send him the message. Yeah, some sort of disclaimer would be a good idea. [editline]30th December 2011[/editline] Oh yeah, Schmoe is doing the next album by the way.
I wrote about the album for you guys. Hope I did a decent job. If not, tell me and I'll make it better. :v: http://humanfankind.com/facepunch-collaborative-vii/
