I can't wait for the next episode when little Caleb gets run over by a car and his mother explains to him that he won't receive blood transfusions needed to keep him alive because it will upset Jehovah.
I know so many people who are like this, but they don't act so nice. It's not "Now, do you think God would like that?" It's "SATAN HAS MADE MY FLESH AND BLOOD EVIL! etc" I went to a friend's house once when I was 8 with my VHS copy of "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" that I had just got for my birthday. His mom broke it and told me to drink grape juice to "cleanse myself". Talk about bullshit. I hate stuff like this. Not all religious people are like this at all, but they certainly get a lot of attention. You know why? Because it's interesting. People aren't going to put all of their attention on normal, everyday people going about their lives, so the media doesn't focus on it. They focus on assholes from the Westboro Baptist Church, tongue speakers and so on. I'm not religious myself, but man, I hate people who give it a bad name. Why can't we just live in peace? It's not very hard.
Grape a day keeps the Satan away, right?
if Jehovah is really persecuting kids for playing with toys actually you know I can't finish that sentence since that just sounds retarded already
Like, no joke, I thought as a kid that 8 balls were witchcraft and if I even touched one in the store that I'd go to Hell. That's one of the reasons that I found this video so damn disturbing. It just seems really... controlling of the parent to make the kid feel guilty and to talk him into throwing it away. I could understand talking to your kid about your religious beliefs, but that was just fucking weird.
Obeying Jehovah you say? But a man chooses, and a slave obeys. Fuck that I'm gunna be a man who chooses to play with cool ass wizard warrior toys.

As much as Jehovah's Witnesses are annoying and whatnot (by the way guys, it's not Jehovah. It's never been Jehovah. Jehovah is an incorrect transliteration by Germans a shitload ago. It's YHWH, probably Yahweh. At least the Mormons got that one right), but Jehovah's Witnesses are responsible for many of America's liberties that many of us take for granted. i.e.: Being able to refuse to say the Pledge in schools and Being able to solicit your speech publicly and door-to-door and Being able to refuse having to display a state-sponsored motto that goes against your morality. Hell, JWs alone are responsible for most of the cases that extended religious freedoms from just Protestants to all religions in the US. 23 separate cases concerning speech and religious exercise were made in the late 30s and early 40s. Hell, look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:United_States_cases_involving_Jehovah%27s_Witnesses If nothing else, JW can gain us liberties where their religion falls short.

If hell was real it sounds like a pretty cool place. I imagine it as a huge atheist and crazy people convention with activities like huge orgies, massive feasts and Satan is a bro.
But if Jehova (aka God) doesn't like magic, how did he create the Earth? [editline]4th June 2012[/editline] Or is this a case of black magic (witchcraft)? [editline]4th June 2012[/editline] I'm so confused.
Stop using logic Jehova doesn't like that!
This actually pretty much sums up my childhood. Pokemon, harry potter, lord of the rings, star wars and anything involving magic was banned. Along with cartoons. [editline]5th June 2012[/editline] My church burned Pokemon toys in the parking lot.
it's ironic, that this religion is related to christainity that believes in hell and heaven, both demonic demons and angelic angels, yet they hate magic?
