Just one question, how come there was a charred Darth Vader mask in the trailer when it should have been destroyed along with the rest of the Death Star? Assuming that's what it was. But otherwise that trailer is actually reallly good.
anakin had a funeral pyre set up for him on endor at the end of ROTJ.
Calling it now, Tie Fighter Pilot Guy and Desert Girl are the children of Luke, and the Black Stormtrooper guy is the dude they're talking to. Also Brienne of Tarth is the cool chrome Stormtrooper.
Secretly hoping the chrome storm-trooper is Gwendoline Christie's character.
If I recall correctly, it is.
uh idk dude "my father has it" *cuts to darth vader's burned helmet* "my sister has it" *cuts to leia being handed luke's original lightsaber* "i have it" *cuts to a guy in a cloak with a metal hand with artoo* yeah idk if its luke or not dude
To be fair Luke does have a artificial hand. Not metal like that though.
I kept it together of just mild whimpers and then the ending my inner 10 year old lost his shit and I squealed holy fuck please be good
To be fair Luke does have a artificial hand. Not metal like that though.
i was joking because it's incredibly obvious it was Luke I'm thinking he's been there so long the fake skin has come off just leaving him with the metal underneath? or something like that
To be fair Luke does have a artificial hand. Not metal like that though.
Maybe he burned the skin off pulling the helmet out of the funeral pyre?
idk man maybe he's a stormtrooper?
That's what I was thinking but it just seems cliche that the main character is friends with someone who joined the army of "the bad guys".
uh idk dude "my father has it" *cuts to darth vader's burned helmet* "my sister has it" *cuts to leia being handed luke's original lightsaber* "i have it" *cuts to a guy in a cloak with a metal hand with artoo* yeah idk if its luke or not dude
Why is he talking about his dead father in the present tense tho? And does Leia have a connection to the force in the original trilogy? Other than sensing her brother is in danger that one time?
If anyone is interested I can provide you with some spoilers, just PM me.
This is so much better than the initial teaser. And is that Darth Revan or what?
JJ is still a big fan of those stupid looking snap zooms though I see.
Heh. I was wondering if I'd see one of those in the trailer.
JJ Abrams is swiftly becoming a favorite
i was joking because it's incredibly obvious it was Luke I'm thinking he's been there so long the fake skin has come off just leaving him with the metal underneath? or something like that
Maybe he keeps it that way so it serves as a constant reminder of Vader or something
Why is he talking about his dead father in the present tense tho? And does Leia have a connection to the force in the original trilogy? Other than sensing her brother is in danger that one time?
Well they share the same blood so yeah they both have a connection to the force.
After few rewatches I'm a bit more excited but I still think there wasn't any huge wow moment. But there are great things in it too. Great shots. No over the top use of Force, lightsabers or action as a whole really. Great score. Harrison Ford actually looking excited to be in a movie. Overall it feels very calm, doesn't spoil anything and hypes you up. Minor nitpicks which might be absolutely okay in the context of the movie. The melted Vader helmet, looks maybe too creepy to the point of silly. The villain having Darth Revan-style mask. It's fine, just something the fans had seen. Maybe it is Revan inspired and it could be a cool use of the Kotor lore. A lot of unique Stormtroopers in the trailer, mainly the silver one and the [del]TIE pilot. I hope they'll get some background.[/del] The pilot actually seems like a random pilot and the silver one will definitely have a bigger role, she is played by Brienne of Tarth of course. Finally, the destroyer wreckage is beautiful but the nearly intact X-Wing and what seems to be recent crash marks ruins it for me a bit.
Why is he talking about his dead father in the present tense tho? And does Leia have a connection to the force in the original trilogy? Other than sensing her brother is in danger that one time?
It would be more surprising if she didn't have a connection. It's not something you can just go "oh I have this." Luke had to train so it's only reasonable that Leia gets trained in Episode 7. Doesn't matter if she did or didn't have the ability in the old films.
This is so much better than the initial teaser. And is that Darth Revan or what?
It's not, his name is Kylo Ren. [t]http://i.imgur.com/WpyxJzN.jpg[/t]
Why is he talking about his dead father in the present tense tho? And does Leia have a connection to the force in the original trilogy? Other than sensing her brother is in danger that one time?
force ghosts i guess, he must speak to Anakin via the force. yeah, it's established that Leia is force sensitive (they're twins so it makes it sense).
chrome trooper
Definitely Gwendoline Christie.
uh idk dude "my father has it" *cuts to darth vader's burned helmet* "my sister has it" *cuts to leia being handed luke's original lightsaber* "i have it" *cuts to a guy in a cloak with a metal hand with artoo* yeah idk if its luke or not dude
I asked because 2 of my friends are saying that he is not Luke (which I don't know why). I know it's Luke, obviously.
If there's one thing I can say, it's that I like the approach with the aesthetic. It's not the completely different art design of the prequels or any other expanded materials that look nothing like the original trilogy - it's just a fancified and built-upon improvement and variation of style on the originals, which just seems more appealing to me for some reason.
holy fuck that was a LOT better than the first trailer
Why is he talking about his dead father in the present tense tho? And does Leia have a connection to the force in the original trilogy? Other than sensing her brother is in danger that one time?
it was never confirmed in the original trilogy, all evidence of her being force sensitive was in EU. it's a good wager that like father like children though.
Wow fucking sick
Also, that footage of Battlefront 3. Looks nice.
What?
"Chewie,Were Home" Overall Reaction Mute the video on the right http://youtubedoubler.com/f4bl
I'll be honest, I thought the voice wasn't Luke but it makes absolute sense it's him and it does sound a bit like him. How does Mark change his voice like that? In real life he has a bit of Joker in his voice but here he sounds "normal".
Maybe he burned the skin off pulling the helmet out of the funeral pyre?
His father never taught him how to not rip the skin
