One of my friends got a surgery to shorten one of his legs because he had the same problem as you, although without the back problem. I always wondered why......until today.
No joke, I would donate money for you to have an operation.
There seems to be a LOT of people here that have scoliosis. I guess it's pretty common?
There seems to be a LOT of people here that have scoliosis. In serious note, I guess having a degree of paralysis from pain, spending time on the computer is a suitable escape, allows you to remain confined yet open and free in computer world if you think about it.
My friend who had scoliosis (he also developed cancer shortly after hitting a huge growth spurt, but he beat it) just had to wear a brace. He told me it was awful. You've my condolences. It must be horrible.
'How one Small thing can change your life' hahahaha I get it.
You were always my favorite mod :frown:
Yeah, he's always been a much better poster than most of the other mods *cough cough th89*
That sucks bro. See you all the time in the 40k threads and had no idea you had this shit going on. And I can't help but have sympathy pains (IE random bone aches) when I read shit like this.
I have scoliosis as well, but it's nothing compared to you. I get pretty bad back pain after working or doing something physical. Makes me feel really fortunate to only have a minor case of it.
Shit, man. Shit. You can barely walk, and you hold the door for other people? God damn. You are a fucking incredible person.
That sucks man, i feel sorry for you... Hey, maybe im just insanely stupid, but what if you wore a shoe that was 1 cm higher than the longer foots-shoe? [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] Or would that make it worse? [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] You know what, nevermind, this post is stupid.

I am now paranoid to pop my back.
I can do this, I am pretty sure its not a major problem, I think a lot of people can do it. Your shoulder blades naturally stick out further.
It's not just that (my shoulder blades don't stick out at all). My spine is more of an S shape (if seen from the side), so when I bend over my upper back sticks out. Darnit, I can't remember the name of this condition. Will try to look it up.
Dude, that really sucks, my brother's friend has the same problem, but nearly as intense as you. I really hope there's someone willing and able to help you in the future. :smith:
Sad :h: [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] Good luck, I hope, somehow, you go well.
i had legg-calvé-perthes syndrome, a rare syndrome that shrinks the head of your femur. the head of my left leg femur shrinked to almost nothing, so one day i tried to walk and i simply couldn't, i fell and my leg would hurt like FUCK because there was nothing my femur could use to hold on to, so it was my entire body weight against me. it felt like a tooth-ache except a thousand times stronger. the GREAT thing is that i was approximately 7 when this happened, so i didn't have to go through any sort of surgery. i had to stay a whole year on a wheelchair, i didn't go through any sort of surgery and it just went back in place. however my left leg was a lot weaker than my right leg, and it was at least 2 times thinner than my right leg. nowadays, the left leg is still weaker, so my body made the left leg's muscles stronger than the right leg's to balance the functionality between both legs. the human body is awesome. [editline]17th June 2011[/editline] it says on the wikipedia it could lead to osteoarthritis on adults, but i never had any problems and its been 12 years since i had this disease.
My mum had this shit, she lost 2 fucking inches in height and lost 3 of her disks.
Shit man. I have back problems as well, but they`re nothing serious yet because I`m still at a pretty young age. Thanks for giving me an example of what may happen if I won`t keep my back straight.
So how does this affect your movement? Are you not very flexible due to it or is it because of too much pain? Does this, pain aside, stop you from doing active things like running or something because it's made your body fragile? Also, how does scoliosis kill you? You should trick out your cane to make the most of it. Get it gold plated or encrusted with diamonds.
You should trick out your cane to make the most of it. Get it gold plated or encrusted with diamonds.
yeah so he can get assaulted on the street by some random thug.
yeah so he can get assaulted on the street by some random thug.
That's why you make it a gun cane.
I saw a girl who had to sleep with an oxygen mask because of scoliosis. Her lung capacity was really bad because of it. However, she had surgery and got way better. I'm pretty sure you could have surgery too. That was also in Britain.

My dad did a surgery like this(he's with anesthesia). 8 hours, and it didn't work. First death my father ever saw. He didn't talk much for a week, the kid was younger than the OP- 13 and she had quite a bit more curve.... :smith::smith:
my ex had mild scoliosis, I thought it was kinda sexy.
One of my friends had this. His spine is better now, he had to wear this big plastic thing. It made him invincible in airsoft and paintball wars. :saddowns:
You are one unlucky son of a bitch, but you should be a motivational speaker or something. Maybe you could talk to all of those suicidal gay kids that think life is tough because of their sexuality.

Hmm my friend had it just as bad as you. He had a surgery, and I understood it's quite routine surgery in finland.
