Found this site.. http://www.spaceslide.co.uk/wardrobe-doors/info/
Looks good. Will probably buy my wardrobe from them instead of trying to put one together myself.
[editline]12th March 2011[/editline]
Nice coincidence lawl. I want one already, they look so awesome. I should swap my sliding door for one of those if I could :)
Fuck me, what are the chances, they're in the same town as me, about a mile away.
More filling and painting. Painted my loft door bright green.

Just some glossing to do in here and then I'm ready for carpet.
Reminds me a fair bit of my uni digs in Second Year, only it looked like it was rushed in about half the time and had far more little behind-the-wall gaps and crappily joined cupboards for hiding pot in
My grandmother died two years ago ( bawww, I know ), and my family was in charge of selling her home. She had bled out running to the bathroom, so the carpet had to be cut out where she was. Homeowner's didn't want to pay for three rooms of carpet ( a majority of the house ), so we had to take it all up and clean her hardwood floor under it. Carpet is a horrible thing to take up once it is put down, so do it right from the start.
Laying carpet is pretty easy though, although somewhat hard work considering you are going to have to get all that carpet up the steps.
This explains it pretty well ( although all the measurements are for the US ).
It's at least a two person job, though.
Had a good day today. Fitted the skirting board.

Not sure what to do with this bit at the stairs, whether to angle it off or leave it flat. Will ask my dad tomorrow.

The air con people came in the week and fitted these..

Which I like, but they made a bit of a mess of filling around the side, so I've got to fix that too.
I haven't shown anyone my air con system have I?
Well, it's inside this door, in the loft space..

This is a heater they fitted last week.. but didn't tell the electrician how to wire it up so it isn't working yet.

And this is the unit itself..

Provides heating and cooling for the whole house. Works pretty well except when the temperature is in minus figures - hence the need for an extra heater.
I cleaned the rest of my loft out, so I can store 'spare parts' in it. Currently only holding sparestair parts.

Why not have the baseboard (or skirt or whatever you call it) run diagonally down the stairs? That's the best way in my opinion
I hadn't considered that.. would look a bit weird though, my stairs are open.
Any further renovation plans after your Bedroom/Bathroom?
You should definitely have the FP or GMod logo somewhere on a wall in your house, just to remind you what got you where you are.
I've got a mirror for that :)
Damn that room looks awesome, and it'll be an awesome bedroom too
It'd still be cool to have a Facepunch poster in your room or something. :p
So are you going to reinforce that skylight? Because you don't want ninjas to burst through that thing and chop you up. Or that guy from Mission Impossible.
I've had a cleanup. I filled and undercoated the skirting board.

Put the doorhandle on the bathroom door.

Looking great so far! Really cool room. Interesting shape, and I like the skylights a lot.
Are you sure you want to do carpet? Wood or Pergo might be easier to install, and easier to clean/take care of.
Nothing is worse than spilling a beer on carpet. The smell is hard to get rid of.
It's a bedroom though :0
Yeah, carpet in bedrooms has been the style for the last 20 years or so I guess.
My silly American house was built in 1942 and we have hard wood floors everywhere except the kitchen and the bathroom. We just put some rugs by the bed and wear slippers when it's cold. :)
It is low, I'm 5'9 and haven't hit my head yet.. but have a couple of taller friends that both have.
And this was the day I found out I was taller than Garry :v:
I don't have a bed, I'm going to buy a new one when I get the carpet down
I'm going to laugh if you break another one
I just cut it off straight at the stairs. Doesn't look too odd now it's undercoated
Your room looks suprisingly alot like mine.
Be careful not to fall down those stairs in the morning though. I did once...
Every time I see that door I think of a green screen :v:
Installing the wardrobes today. The instructions make it look easy, but I'm expecting a lot of fuck ups.

*Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe pun.*
As long as you measure properly, there shouldn't be many problems. How heavy are the doors?
They're pretty light, a lot lighter than I would have thought

Sometimes, naked women stumble out of my wardrobes.
[editline]6th April 2011[/editline]
Does this happen to you too, garry?
Nah dead hookers can't walk
[editline]6th April 2011[/editline]
I fitted the wardrobe doors!

The rail is fitted to the rafters in the roof. It's so secure I can hang off it (which is REALLY secure)

All the isolators for the bathroom are hidden away inside. Which is probably against some building regulation - so don't tell anyone!

I need to get some covers for the screw holes

And to decide what I'm doing to the floor in there. Might just carpet it the same as the rest of the room?

"oh thats a nice glass door-HOLD ON A SECOND!"
Im pretty sure everything in garrys house is from ikea.
Niiiiiiiice!
You can probably just carpet the floor of the closet with scraps from carpeting the main floor, right?
I think most places I have lived in have had the closet with the same floor as the rest of the room.
