Backround on assends:

They started from one human, his name was randy. The man went to make a home for himself in a cave, protected from the dangers of outside.. but one day, it was raining. Randy went outside to feel the rain, thinking it feels good, he stayed outside. The thing he didn't know, was that the rain was radioactive, and unsafe..

In a few minutes, his eyes and hands started bleeding, he couldn't move, and started to grow spikes and tentacles. He died, and the remains of his body transformed into a hive, which started making assends.
