Yeah, I thought there would be something related in the Royal Engineers... But aren't Technicians normally enlisted men?
I'm not 100% certain on going, really I want to see what my prospects after Uni are like first, but its really always been a dream of mine.
For any Irish military dudes(or really anyone maybe), is there anything I can do before going into the army that would help me later on?
Don't put it on your eye, it will hurt.
Mort and Charon, there is a trade for a Geo Technician in the Royal Engineers.
How about when I'm drawing into sights?

Fitness! Training may involve CBA and some extra shite, operations they'll give you everything. Osprey, LAW, mine detectors, ECM, extra ammo, everything you need to be an absolute lad.
Hey what's the standard US military pistol these days?
m9 berretta 9mm iirc
Armored combat is the best combat.

Until someone hits you with a 155mm shell or anti-tank weapon.

The harsh angles on that camouflage remind me of Combine Soldier camo.

Theres a recruitment embargo on at the moment due to the budget, there ain't many tips I can give you. I suppose if you are already in the reserve its a big leg up, you must be fit and have a determined attitude too.
The process is basically do a medical, do a sight and hearing test, get Garda vetting then do a fitness test and sign the waiver. Then do 6 months training in a barracks for your recruit camp then 2-3 star camp soon after.
oh and I think they have an interview now too, it's been a while since I had to go through that shite.
About these benches on the sides of MH-6s:

Do people just simply sit on these and try not to fall off, or is there a way to fasten yourself to it?

Given how fast people get off those benches once the copter lands, I would assume it has no seatbelts, as for how the fuck do they stay on said benches during flight is a different story.

I wish Canada had a close air support fighter, hell I wish we had the A-10. My career would be decided if we did.

It's not like the CF-18 is totally incapable of supporting ground forces. They were bombing targets in Libya without any problems.

I am very aware of this, but the thrill of flying low, your plane vibrating underneath you as you press the trigger. Nothing but your hearbeat in your ears. Thats what I want.
WTF is this. Overkill

Pretty much a 100% chance you'll deploy if you go marines.

Canned Guinness is nothin' special man don't worry bout it. The only pint of that stuff that's worth writing home about is the pulled kind from a decent pub.
