Atheism is the opposite of Theism, which is the belief in a God. It does not necessarily defy all spirituality.
For example, Buddhism is an atheistic religion that has deities as in higher beings and spirits, but no specific God.

So you're saying David can't go to dinner at Easter at your house? Because Jews don't believe in the 'rescurrection' (sic)? Well that's quite intolerant, but what's more, Jews don't believe Jesus was the messiah either. So there is quite a lot more to it if you really want to base holiday dinner invitations on religious grounds.
I "celebrate" easter by going home to see my parents and eating a nice meal. Mostly because we get two days off of school for it.

I dunno about easter, but here christmas is called "winter holidays" which has nothing to do with religion, but with winter.
