No, you're not getting my point. It's not even this. I'm trying to say if they're going to celebrate a holiday at least practice the fucking religion. Most Christians won't get off their lazy ass and go to church. I would be a lot ticked off by this if they would just follow their religion or convert to atheists. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to get people to support atheism nor am I trying to turn people against it. I jsut want people to stop acting like hypocrites and be what they're fucking supposed to. In fact, many religions are strictly against hypocrisy, including Christianity.
So basically your issue is that if people aren't practicing, church going members of a religion, they have no right to celebrate a holiday in that religion. And more-so, if they are part of a religion, they can't celebrate a holiday outside it? You do realize how much of a horrible and wrong idea this is? My family celebrates it, but pretty much none of us are Christians. Most of us are agnostic, and, in the case of myself, sister, cousin, and a few others, atheist. I got to see my new nephew for the first time, something I probably would've been unable to do for quite some time if it weren't for the holiday. Am I in the wrong for seeing my new nephew? And "be what they're fucking supposed to"? What the hell does that mean? Under whose authority are you allowed to decide what anyone is supposed to be?
I'm not Christian at all, but I love Easter because it's a reason for me to eat a lot of good food and candy.
;21164199']Because there are both religious and commercialized sides of a holiday, and some people celebrate the commercialized side. You don't have to be religious to celebrate holidays.
AKA freeloaders
I go to church and then I eat chocolate.
I usually like X-mas and other holidays because for us its a family get together, it's never been about religion.
Because Easter is an awesome excuse to eat good food. That, and I love it when butthurt Christians tell me I have no right to be happy and enjoy myself on THEIR holiday.
its become a national holiday, like the fourth of July. i don't have to believe to make another person feel happy.
Easter eggs are
I don't celebrate it, I respect my family by joining them in the religious act of eating chocolate bunnies.
I'm in it for the massive amounts of chocolate. We all gotta down our problems in something...
I do it for the vacation :P
Holidays are holidays. Family time is family time. Also turkey/ham is turkey/ham. Even though I myself am Christian, I can perfectly see why they celebrate them, they don't have to give a crap about what they don't believe.
