I never understood how people can care about this shit. What. Fucking. Ever. Who Gives. A. Shit.
Dumbest flame war ever.
except there really shouldn't be that much of a difference between a male and female audience outside of this manufactured notion that men really want to see titties in their non-titty related media
No matter what medium we talk about, there will be smut. The existence og the "Nightmare on elm street" sequels and movies like that just shows the large audience movies attract. There's something for everyone, even if that is pandering bullshit. Same with games. If you don't like that stuff, just ignore it.
However, it should be noted that it is possible to write good characters even if they are sexualized, without it nescessarily bring intended to pander to a specific audience... Atleast, I believe that to be the case. There are so many other reasons to "sexualise" a character by giving them large breasts or impposible physiques in general. Say, for instance, social commentary.
The point I'm trying to make is that I don't think developers should be limited in what they can do in the name of political correctness... Even if what they want to make is a pandering piece of garbage. I think that kind of freedom is needed if we want to see some truly amazing games in the future.
Actually, let's be honest here... Why aren't these people going after every other industry with overt sexualization of women? Why not comic books, or movies, or music videos, or men's magazines? Why are video games at the forefront of this debate, other than the Quinn/Sarkeesian thing.

It's an interesting discussion. I just enjoy reading and talking about these things.

Very true. However, a lot of them are shoehorned in and when you ask why it's still being done they're like "fantasy has always been sexual it's just a tradition!"
with every post you just continue to confirm that you have no idea what feminism is
You know he was talking about radicals, don't stir more shit just because you like stirring.
I got told on facebook by a group of women that I don't get to decide if something is offensive and mysoginitic because I'm not a women and haven't experienced it.

To be fair, he can only take what he saw as evidence. And what I saw was someone saying that the hatred of sexuality is a feminist thing, which is wrong.
Can we just enjoy the tits and stop arguing?

I'M AN ASS MAN
nobody finds that attractive
i know some peeps on /d/ that will prove you wrong
remember: if it exists, someone wants to fuck it.
The feminist hatred of sexuality? Part of feminism is about having women be able to express their sexuality as they please.
If anyone is telling women how they should present their bodies, they are certainly not a feminist
You are aware of the existence of sex-negative feminists, right?
It's dumb as fuck to paint all of feminism as sex-positive or as sex-negative, for reasons I shouldn't have to explain.
It is why characters like Evelynn from LoL irk me:
[THUMB]http://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Evelynn_0.jpg[/THUMB]
(It looks like she is going to a sex dungeon, not a combat arena.)
But why characters like Kayle are cool:
[THUMB]http://ddragon.leagueoflegends.com/cdn/img/champion/splash/Kayle_0.jpg[/THUMB]
She is actually ready for battle, and looks badass because of it.
Same with male characters too, however, this disparity between character and appearance is way more prevalent with females and you'd be ignorant not to notice it.
Evelynn's supposed to look like she crawled out of a sex dungeon because that's literally her lore
The character looks retarded sure but if you're going for the "plausible outfit" theory then Evelynn's outfit is very plausible considering her story.

Sex negative feminism is the idea that private and consensual sex in the context of our modern world is not necessarily positive or intrinsically good and is therefore not outside the realm of critique. It is absolutely NOT the hatred of sexual expression or for supporting sexual restriction in a consenting environment.
