You're either extremely pessimestic, or do not understand the gravity of diabetes. Diabetes is only a large hassle if you are smart enough to treat it correctly. Unlike AIDS and cancer, where even if you do everything right you can still die. There are so many diseases worse than diabetes, it's shame that you have it in your family, and it's a shame that because it's in your family it has clouded your logic.

Mister smart-guy, I do cause I lived with someone that had it, and no, I'm not being "pessimestic", it's just the fact that I had to see her go through lots of exams, painful lasers treatments in the eye (the one they burn your eye ball) and even injections, IN THE FUCKING EYE, just to finally found out that all this sacrifice, money spent with her hard work, was to make the eye issue just cease

She had to wait to stabilize her incomes to start the treatment. Just because you/your family has that money, doesn't mean other people have it. With the diabetes, came depression, and her family didn't supported her in the beggining.

If left untreated it could kill you in less than a few days. If we apply the logic in this thread, and left it untreated, along with AIDS and Cancer, it'd kill you quicker, meaning both aids and cancer are pussy diseases?

When I said "one of the more" I put up the statement that there are more diseases and that diabetes is one of the more pussy ones.

What would you rather have, your life monitering what you eat and occasionally needing insulin shots, or not have your life at all? Diabetes is obviously a pussy disease in comparison to cancer, aids or any of the other fatal dieases or the diseases that truly do make your life a living hell. Like SARS, or the black plague.

Ahh yes, if left untreated it will kill you. So will many other things. Streph throat for example can cause a flesh eating bacteria to slowly kill you. But does that make it even close to the level of Aids or cancer? No, because it's easily treated.
With Diabetes you can lose your eye sight, your feet and tons of other shit. Don't ask how, just Google it or something. But it affects your nerve system. It can also reduce how much pain you feel on the bottom of your feet, wish is why you shouldn't walk around bare footed etc
