Absolutely worth the wait and helped kill time at work. Absolutely loved it, now to stop neglecting my New Leaf town :(
Ahh I was waiting for you, man :v: something about your comments always stick out. Probably because I've been in that same work situation too many times to count. I'm glad you liked it, dude!
Yeah, i work a slow weekend job so all my YouTube viewing is on Saturday and Sunday, it was nice opening up my laptop and seeing it in my subscriptions. I also made sure to recomend you to a friend of mine as he'll absolutely love your style!
Too try-hard at being enthusiastic. Gets stale after a while and rather annoying. But if your key demographic is 12 year olds, keep it up.
Can't help but agree with that first sentence, the rest of the post not quite. There's just too much faux energy in this video for it to not be distracting. I liked the vibes in your Crash video way better, felt more genuine and not once did I look at how much time was remaining in the video. Not saying I didn't enjoy the video, though! Just if I had any observations to make that could possibly help you out, that would be it.
You actually convinced me to pick up a 3DS and New Leaf. Cheers!
The cut to the fridge made me laugh. Very Plinkettesque. Really like these videos, keep 'em coming. Just wondering if you're gonna stick to nostalgic games or are you going to branch out? Because there are only so many games that everyone played as kids.

I'm making quite the jump with the next video. [editline]7th March 2015[/editline]
You actually convinced me to pick up a 3DS and New Leaf. Cheers!
Aw fuck yes dude, you're gonna love it. Nice avatar :v:
I always thought this game was a soulless time sink, but you pretty much sold it to me right off the lot. I honestly want to dig up my old GC now and get a copy. Keep up the work dude, you may want to take a few more pauses between statements but all in all entertaining and upbeat as hell!
For some reason New Leaf just didn't draw me in like the original did. Maybe it's because music just doesn't hit the right spot, or maybe I'm just older.
Man that means so much. I really do recommend that you guys pick this up somehow and play it. It's just such a strange experience that I'm sure at least some of it has to be enjoyable :v:
Man, if only I had a Gamecube. Meanwhile, I have Wild World and City Folk. And no New Leaf because NTSC 3DS in Europe. Can't wait for the next video, shit's good.
Animal Crossing is the only video game my mother ever got into. It started because my brothers and I were really into City Folk, and everyday on the way home from school we'd argue over who would play first, as whoever did had the best shot at moneymaking and getting that day's good items. So my mom was fed up with it one day and she decided to make her own character so that way my brothers and I wouldn't fight over who would play first, as she would. She never really played video games before, but she got really into and ended up being the richest person in our town with the biggest house and everything. Animal Crossing is fucking boss.
Really like the video man. My only complaint I have with it is with the beginning of that history lesson you gave about the first game, where you said it was first released as a Japan-only 64DD title. Thats actually false. While it was initially planned as a 64DD title, it was actually released on a normal N64 cartridge that featured an integrated real-time clock (ala Pokémon G/S/C on the GBC), due to the 64DD's numerous delays. Thats my only nitpick with the video however, keep up the great work dude!

Unfortunately my mom didn't really understand it (I guess) and never played again
You remind me a bit off on Caddicarus. Like it's not bad, just try to find your own style.
You remind me a bit off on Caddicarus. Like it's not bad, just try to find your own style.
I've gotten this, but as Jontron, Egoraptor, and almost all the other reviewers. Can't tell if that's bad or good. But I don't know. What I can say is that I'm definitely experimenting around here and there. When I do the writing however, a lot of it is simply exactly what would come out of my mouth in real conversation, with a few edits around for sentence structure and grammar. Hopefully in the future I'll come more into my own.

Just keep at it. The more episodes you release the more differences people will be able to find between you and those who you're compared to.
Yeah, I figured so myself. In the meantime I'm going to try working on building up a library of videos. Hopefully now that I'll have regular uploads, it'll be a little easier to get myself out there even more.
Right now I'm aiming for more or less once a week or every teo weeks
Right now I'm aiming for more or less once a week or every two weeks
That would be great if you can but don't force it i used to know people that would make content on a fortnightly basis and would end up with writers block and it would just end them, then they just give up. go at a comfortable pace, or you'll just burn out after three more videos. try and do one once a month i think is a good time frame.
Always wanted to try Animal Crossing but never bothered to. Wish I had back when I played a lot of DS.
Always wanted to try Animal Crossing but never bothered to. Wish I had back when I played a lot of DS.
Wild World on the DS was probably the weakest one imo. I said it in the video but never really went into detail. Basically, they completely stripped down the geometry by A LOT. They had some nice notable additions in terms of customization which contributed a lot to the series overall, but it definitely was NOT anything near the Gamecube version. City Folk was essentially a clone of Wild World with some new tweaks and additions that made Wild World not suck. New Leaf brought the series back to being seriously awesome, if you ask me. It completely turned the tables on the formula and they really expanded the horizons. I hope we get to see Animal Crossing on the Wii U or next-gen. If they keep advancing it then it HAS to be fucking awesome. [editline]9th March 2015[/editline] That's not to say Wild World wasn't enjoyable by any means, I do have some fond memories of it. But compared to every future installment is simply pales in comparison and makes you realize just how not great it was.
It would have been a neat little fun-fact that you can actually open and remove the AC disk on the Gamecube after it's running and it won't freeze the game. Also, 0/10 no in depth explanation of turnip stock market
Oh jesus I guess I gotta start a new town in New Leaf now. RIP my spring break, Animal Crossing's gonna kill it.
FUCK
You can always do short followup videos in between long stretches of inactivity!
I enjoyed your videos loads more than I thought I would. I'll definitely keep watching new stuff you put out! I found your enthusiasm and humour quite charming rather than off-putting, and I look forward to more stuff, man.
You can always do short followup videos in between long stretches of inactivity!
I've considered this, and chances are I will further down the line. Right now I'm focusing on making some big-hitters first so I can get myself at least decently established. Or, I guess, established at all if possible. Since it's still up in the air if this whole thing will even see success.
I enjoyed your videos loads more than I thought I would. There's definitely more where that came from. It's always exciting to see a new person who likes my stuff. Right now, I'm once again waiting on some audio before I get work done. The exciting part is that I've recorded everything I need gameplay-wise, and the script itself is also finished. It's all looking very good right now and I'm very confident in it. Right now it actually seems like it's going to feel a little more like the pilot in terms of overall style (not something I aimed for, I just let loose whenever I'm writing and whatever comes out goes in the video).
