Fuck, girl asked me if I want to go into her place and the first thing I thought was sex and I pussied out... fuck i fell like a douche now
It's in the past, there's nothing you can about it anymore. Learn from your mistakes and move on.
Me and my friend talked things out, turns out he wasn't mad at all, just annoyed.
exactly
no male high school senior is going to get to the point where they are really upset with you and need to spend some time apart right before graduation
they just get pissed for a bit and avoid you for a little while until you can be bros again
I act like a douche bag to people and I really do not mean to, I got really cynical over middle school cause basically everyone ragged on me and anything out of my mouth during school was an attempted comeback. Any advice? I try to stop but it may sound cliche, but I do not really know how to be nice.
Anyone?
Anyone?
stop being a dick? i don't think there's much advice to give you other than to be more self aware and stop being a dick to everyone. there's no magical "meditate 3 hours a day" solution that will help you if you don't have the self restraint to have some sense of control over your personality or at the very least your actions
Anyone?
Take deep breaths and fake it till you make it - everyone isn't out to get you anymore. Double check what comes out of your mouth when you think it.
i have that problem sometimes
i used to be a very introverted and self conscious person, and although I've changed a lot in the past few years, I still do retain some of that self consciousness, and I am never the center of attention really
but this means that when I do get the "upper hand" in social situations, sometimes I can turn into a bit of a dick
recently I've just been trying to catch myself when I'm bragging or putting someone down, and instead of being a dick to people, I try to just change the subject or stop talking altogether
I dont' really know how to give you specific advice, but first just work on recognizing when you say mean things and when you're not. the first step is to just watch yourself from the outside

btw on facepunch im just a dick to people sry my real life isn't really reflected here
I am just generaly nice to her and dont insult her, while she does insult me. I'm fine with that, but sometimes she crosses the line and i pull her up on it, and then that was the end of an argument that stemmed from me pulling her up on something. In hindsight it was a little trivial. I told her I wasnt going to argue with her because if i got properly annoyed i would say something incredibly offensive.

Sorry about any poor grammar or spelling, I am on my phone.
so she's angry at you because you don't insult her when she insults you and acts like a jerk? thats kind of stupid.
so she's angry at you because you don't insult her when she insults you and acts like a jerk? thats kind of stupid.
Well I'd kinda play that kinda game :D, but girl being angry because of that reason is really stupid thing.
stop being a dick?
Funny how it's easy to say for people who had never been dicks without realizing it.
Funny how it's easy to say for people who had never been dicks without realizing it.
uh but i have? it's not exactly a unique scenario.
i've been in situations where i've realized that i'm being a douche and either building myself up or just shitting on other people, and the solution is pretty simple and Jo p much nailed it, you need to catch yourself and be aware of what you're saying. before you go on and keep talking, stop and think about what you're saying and consider whether or not you honestly think it's a good idea.

I could insult her, and occasionally do (insults are in the friends joking about each other way, rather than trying to hurt) but I generally dont find it that much fun with her, unlike with some other people. I have a feeling she is annoyed about something else (no idea what) and is just using this to vent or whatever. I am going to text her now to see if she has calmed down yet.

I don't think I've ever been a dick on facepunch. I think my persona here represents me 'fairly' well.
I don't think I've ever been a dick on facepunch. I think my persona here represents me 'fairly' well.
Do you know what a 'persona' is?
he must, because he used it correctly in this context
Do you know what a persona is?
Do you know what a persona is?
What is a persona?
A persona, in the word's everyday usage, is a social role or a character played by an actor. The word is derived from Latin, where it originally referred to a theatrical mask. The Latin word probably derived from the Etruscan word "phersu", with the same meaning, and that from the Greek πρόσωπον (prosōpon). Its meaning in the latter Roman period changed to indicate a "character" of a theatrical performance or court of law, when it became apparent that different individuals could assume the same role, and legal attributes such as rights, powers, and duties followed the role, and that the same individuals as actors could play different roles, each with its own legal attributes, sometimes even in the same court appearance.

Useful as general information, but in context, not so much.
In communication studies
In the study of communication, persona is a term given to describe the versions of self that all individuals possess. Behaviours are selected according to the desired impression an individual wishes to create when interacting with other people. A person may inhabit various social roles through intentional or unintentional expression of behaviors and appearances that convey meanings maintaining these roles during social interactions.[1] Therefore, the persona one presents to other people varies according to the social environment the person is engaged in, in particular the persona presented before others will differ from the persona an individual will present when he/she happens to be alone.
which makes sense in the context pickwickian used it in
do you have a point seith or are you just trying to start an argument
I think he's just being Seith
Being a dick is a choice; it's a persona. It's not something you do unconsciously, so to say "I think it represents me fairly well" is not knowing what a persona is.
A better choice of words would be... the Animus, as it's something he does unconsciously, meaning he's actually not a dick, naturally.
who cares

Everybody understood what he was trying to convey, so nobody gives a fuck.

And nobody should have, as the question wasn't pointed at any of you.
do you remember what normal feels like seith
We can rebuild him
we have the technology
So the chick from that hilarious love triangle I mentioned some time back wants to hang out with me tonight, which seems strange to me, because my Best Buddy™ Jordan, who she's got a total boner for, is out of town this week, and has been more or less ignoring her since we all last hung. Given her propensity for manipulation (she told Jordan that I tried to make a move on her the day she came to pick up some stuff she left at my house, haha), I'm kinda wondering if this is all some elaborate ploy to try to make Jordan jealous or something!
I almost hope it is, because it would be pretty darn funny for her to try and drive a wedge between the deep and abiding friendship that Jordan and I share. And besides, he pretty much predicted this exact scenario last week. If she wants to try and use me, I have no qualms with counter-using her! Jord-Friend and I would laugh and laugh [sub]and laugh [sub]and laugh [sub]and laugh [sub]and laugh [sub]and laugh [sub]and laugh[/sub] [sub]and laugh[/sub] [sub]and laugh[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]
