So am I to understand a good place to look for bookish/educated/whateveryouwanttocallit women would be coffee shops? Or bookshops? Were those the suggestions, or did I misunderstand?
Sorry but what the fuck. You just gonna stroll into a shop and say "Excuse me, let's be boyfriend and girlfriend because we're in a coffee shop so you're probably my type". That's not weird as shit or anything. You're going about it wrong. You don't force meeting somebody. It freaking happens. You meet a friends friend (or maybe just a friend or a person) and go "Oh shit I kinda like them" and you get to know them a bit more and decide what to do about it. You don't make a shopping list and try to find a shop which specialises in what you're looking for. I've fancied a lot of girls I never would've initially gone for, that's life. Your friends have friends, they have friends, one of those friends throws a party or organises a night out and you all go and bam you've met somebody. My arse bookish people are stereotypes and don't go to parties or clubs, I've met more bookish people at parties and clubs. I know a girl who reads Lord of the Rings religiously and I met her in a club. Plus you're more likely to talk and make progress with somebody who has had a little than some sober girl who's just trying to read a fucking book and drink a latte on her own because she got some down time to herself. Sorry. I just got annoyed at this entire question. I guess my point is, in the nicest way, stop forcing things. Let life happen. It's more fun. [editline]15th August 2012[/editline] Somebody (Possibly him himself) give me the Sunday Roast situation in a concise paragraph. I don't care enough to read the whole fucking thread to see somebody not accept advice.

I've been rating his posts "funny" for this exact reason.
Yeah, like I never moved on. Never met any darn other girls during the whole damn summer. Should have used that time for trying to get things going on with other girls. Instead of just daydreaming about that one girl all that time. ^That never happened. I have been following your advice, but I haven't felt the need to post about it too much. I tried to get something going on with some other girls. Because the other attempts never really took off, due to varying reasons. But I didn't manage to get myself into a relationship because I wasn't looking for one with such a rush. Had that been the case I would have just turned towards dating sites.
...I'm asking what that "somewhere" is. Once I've found someone, I'm fine. It's the actual looking part that I'm asking advice for.
Find them in General Discussion Thread or Mass Debate (if there are any).

Soo....going on topic here. I need advice on finding dates :| Not gonna lie, only had one boyfriend IRL, that is. I consider myself a very likeable person, yet nobody hits on me or anything. Maybe I'm missing it? I'm also not good on picking up signals. Can someone help me out here? Thanks! Alos, I'm pansexual, so advice applied to all genders would be much appreciated :D

When did people start saying pansexual instead of bisexual? Is it the more technically accurate word or something? Like is bisexual some bastardized word? I thought it was a real one. Because someone told me they were pansexual a while ago and I asked them about it. To me 'pan', the root meaning 'all' being included means that they like more than just both genders. Is it a specific kind of sexuality that means that they like boys, girls, transgenders and hermaphrodites as opposed to just the two vanilla genders or what? [editline]16th August 2012[/editline] The person I was talking to about it wasn't very good with words, or felt uncomfortable talking about his sexuality that up front, so I couldn't figure out precisely what he meant. Not that what he meant is what it really means.

Not that what he meant is what it really means.
You are correct here It can also be applied as being attracted to anyone regardless of sex or gender and being attracted to the personality. I myself am pansexual. (I have also heard people use it mostly because they want out of the bisexual bracket because some people have bastardized it and made it mean you are a slut basically, and many people just view bisexuals as just trying to be special or it being a phase) Edit: damn pageking. Anyway I guess the best idea is just to go out looking for a relationship. Watching body cues is a good idea, lean in towards people you are interested in, break touch barrier with people and see how they react (just like a shoulder touch). After you know someone a bit if whenever you look at them they smile or their eyebrows raise that is a good sign. I know some other stuff but can't think of it right now. For yourself also maybe a gay bar if there is one in your area. It doesn't sound that good, and there are some obnoxious people there, but if you would like to meet someone of the same or more variable genders/sexes that would be the best place. It is actually pretty fun if your comfortable in groups, go with some friends if you have some that would be willing. It's a lot harder to do that on average unless you have a fair friend group of gays and such.
why do queer people have to denigrate each other pansexuals and bisexuals shouldn't be fighting
i would think fucking anything that moves is more slutty than going two ways

Being pansexual, I am attracted to people of any gender, including, but not limited to, male, female, transmale, transfemale, genderqueer, and all the other ones.
why do queer people have to denigrate each other pansexuals and bisexuals shouldn't be fighting
It generally isn't between the two groups, as more an outside perception. Although a lot of the gay community looks down on bisexuals for getting "straight benefits" and the amount of people in particular who during highschool go "bi" and just be sluts who arn't actually attracted to, usually other girls, creates a bad perception for everyone. I've heard a lot of complaints like that from many of the lesbians I know. People treat them like it is a phase for attention even though often it is not.
i would think fucking anything that moves is more slutty than going two ways
That is an incredibly stupid perception. Anyway the stereotype of bi being sluts is mostly from slutty females who just decide they are bi but arn't really. Edit: Automerge why you fail me now!
i would think fucking anything that moves is more slutty than going two ways
i don't think that's even remotely close to what pansexuality is
i don't think that's even remotely close to what pansexuality is
This person is obviously close-minded, but oh well. Also, thumbs up for your avy, I have that .gif on my computer ;)
You seem to confuse attraction with promiscuity.

When I am, I'll be frequenting the ones in Austin ;D
