i started on electric. used to be a huge metalhead but my tastes changed, been meaning to get an acoustic for a while
guy mannly a metal head ahahah i would never have thought it
i used to have both but i left my electric at home when i moved out and haven't touched it for a year or two. i like to prat about on the acoustic and do the occasional open mic night with a friend of mine who can sing much better than i
When I got my hands on an electric guitar for the first time I felt like I was holding a divine instrument due to how easy it was to make sound with it as opposed to the acoustic guitar.
I feel like starting a band of some sort with two friends of mine (brothers), but there seems to be a lack off bass players from the people we know. It could be that the bros father knows how to play bass. I for one can't play bass, not to mention playing bass and singing at the same time.
I'm so fucking pissed at one of my close friends right now because he can't fucking just be nice to the girl I'm going out with. I want him to just not talk to her but he's just being an inconsiderate asshole.

Shape up or shape out.
My friends do the same but not in front of her. I take a lot of shit from this whole ordeal
Some of my friends can be huge assholes sometimes and I really need to stop being friends with them.
Personally I think you should make use of the time you have together, but don't invest yourself too much emotionally.
Yeah, I'm totally going out with her next month. She said there is still places here that she wanted to go and things to do/eat. So that seems like a great opportunity.
If her parents let her go that is.
So, a girl acquaintance of mine from my 5th period asked me where I live, and apparently her grandfather lives on the same street which is why she was curious/had some inkling. Then she asked for my number, and then after school she showed up at my house and we talked for a bit and she left.
I'm fine with it, but the girl in question has a boyfriend so I'm mostly just confused/curious since it seems unusual that someone who is pretty much an acquaintance would do all of that, and quite suddenly as well.
adding to the guitar debate; playing acoustic is so different from playing electric guitar they might as well be two different instruments
Well first of all I want an electric guitar if I ever get one and not an acoustic.
I've also tried drawing before and failed miserably at it, got discouraged and gave up. Literally the only thing I've ever tried that I was good at was writing, but it was almost all shit I would never want anyone I personally know to read.
I used to be horrible at drawing.
Then I joined the architecture major and I rock socks at drafting.
IT'S CALLED PRACTICE. Nobody can just pick up a fucking pencil and ooze excellence, and those that can are called savants. Seriously, all you've been complaining about up to this point is how bad you are at things. You need to, say it with me now,

so this is a weird question but fuck you I'm that way
there's this girl I talk too. We have a class together.
If we're talking online, steam, facebook, whatever, fucking conversation will legitimately last until one of us falls asleep I'm not even joking.
If I ever run into her in the halls, or we're in class, we talk for hours, again.
But if I ever ask her if she wants to hang out, you know, outside of school, she's ALWAYS locked up busy that weekend.
I... I'm not sure I totally understand.
Maybe she's busy?

It's probably the way you have explained it but it sounds like she might just want to be good friends or is afraid of screwing what (to her) is already working. That being said if you like her (which it is pretty clear that you do) just tell her how you feel and if she feels the same she will find time in her weekends. Perhaps she is even trying to force you into actually asking her out.

Thanks man. I'll do my best.
I've been all nervous about this. I... uhh... she's something else :v:

Either she is very friendly or she doesn't seem to be getting the love and attention from her current so called boyfriend and is seeking it to the nearest person she thinks will be a good target and easily accessible. Or another possibility is that she is just a really unkind girl that cheats on her boyfriends, but you should know this about her or not.
Nothing to worry about, if she does cheat on him with you, depending on the person you are, you will like it or hate it. But this is your situation to control. Make the right choice.
This will probably get buried, but I just want to thank you guys for these threads. It's always nice to come hear and see the endeavors that people have past and pushe away from. It's really heart lifting. Really though I have to thank you guys for this; it's been a long time since this post indeed (http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=1133771&p=33059606&viewfull=1#post33059606), and yet after a year of a roller coaster, we're finally back on speaking terms, but more importantly you guys showed my that confidence was all that was needed, not looks, nothing, just raw confidence. Anyway, I don't feel like going into detail, but yeah here is my thanks!
Guys i'm going a beach date with this girl i like but i don't know what we can do to pass the time.. like we can chill and talk on our towels in the sand.. get lunch.. play splash wars in the water..

Fuck in the sa- actually that's a terrible idea
In all seriousness though, late night beach fire. Extraordinarily relaxing and super romantic, you guys can eat marshmallows and swoon over each other.
If you're not staying that late, pack a picnic and eat on the beach, do stereotypical beach stuff. The reason it's stereotypical is because it's generally pretty fun. Can't go wrong there, right? Build a sandcastle.

Depends what kind of beach you're going to and Flagdog reckons you're Aussie so the beach can vary a fair bit. If its a city beach don't take much other than what you can carry easily (preferably just what a backpack can hold) which gives you the freedom to take a walk and get some lunch or whatever but if you're like me and live out in woop woop where the beaches are empty and vast then grab your (or a mates) 4x4 and trek out some place where you can do some nice snorkel diving. Take some food and a picnic blanket, sand castles are great but don't get too into it.
Oh and no beach fires unless you are in the middle of nowhere cause its coming into summer in Aus and fire restrictions apply so you're going to get fined to shit if you get caught.
oh shit I didn't see that he's Aussie, my b.
yeah im in aus how did u know?
Yeah its a city beach its going to be crowded as fuck i know that; ive gone beach w/ guy friends b4 just never alone with a girl so im a bit stumped as to how im going to pass the time

Just make sure you pack light (a backpack at most). Take two towels but put them together on the beach so you take up less space on the beach as well as sit together. Take her for a swim where its okay to be a bit playful but if she doesn't get her hair wet then don't go and tackle her into the water or anything. Considering you're in the city you should pack when you are hungry and take a walk looking for a nice cafe to get something to eat and drink. Don't try and force spending the whole day at the beach.
Apply sunscreen regularly even if you are quite tanned.

dude just put sunscreen on her back, be gently but don't try and massage her or feel her up on a packed beach.
Best way to celebrate a 1 year anniversary? or is it stupid to?
Best way to celebrate a 1 year anniversary? or is it stupid to?
You'd be stypid not to celebrate it. Girls are quite serious about it.
Going out for a dinner (PROPER restaurant) is a good choice.

That depends how old they are.
dmillerw, if you're unsure if whether or not you'd want to celebrate it it's a good idea to subtly mention it to your other half. Or ask them what they've thought about it! No point in not being completely honest. You've been together for a year now, you should be able to.
A lot of couples do it, a lot of couples don't.

If you're the type that does, though, make it special. It doesn't have to be as extravagant as a wedding but something nice still. A bouquet of flowers in the morning, with an invite to a surprise picnic already set up by you? Whatever floats your boat. Don't stress!
Best way to celebrate a 1 year anniversary? or is it stupid to?
Of course you should.
My and my girlfriend go out every month as a silly anniversary just to screw around. We both know it's ridiculous, but it's fun. One year is something to celebrate as far as I'm concerned.

Give her the dick.
[editline]25th September 2012[/editline]
Seriously though just take her out for a nice meal or something.
I really need to stop sitting beside cute girls and awkwardly look at them out of the corner of my eye unless I'm actually going to talk to them.
