I do get my hair cut regularly. It's not like I'm retarded enough to have long greasy hair. However, nice clothes and hobbies cost money I need for other things.
Clothes that fit are the best thing in the world.

I do wear clothes that fit.

Now stop implying I do all the awful shit stereotypical of a turbonerd and accept that I'm actually a normal person, I just have fuckawful self esteem.

See? Normal. I do need a haircut pretty soon though

At least I probably look nowhere near as much of a greasy loser as you thought though.
if uhh
the girl I fancy grabs my arm in the hall and shoots me a giant smile, then walks off
these are good signs right
long story short I've got a thing for this girl, and she's... rather physical.
We were in a play together last year and whenever I walked out on stage she'd slap my ass, and always be sitting on my lap or clinging to me
I can't tell if she's just that kind of person
or if I'm fucking DENSE
And I can't exactly help it if I have a naturally unattractive face. I'm aware I have a pig nose and I'm not superficial enough to get plastic surgery.

Your face type isnt unattractive though, could do with a bit of a smile but yeah.

Get a different type of haircut.
Go to the fix up look sharp thread, they'll fix you up. Be forewarned though, they can be dicks.
and if you're having self-esteem issues and need a hobby, go work out?
Its healthy, cheap, and does great for self-esteem.
Why are you even posting that, I'm pretty sure nobody in this thread cares what you look like.

I dont think he is ready for them if he cant take this, anyway I find they have a bit too much of a one track approach to what looks good.

That's why I don't want to go there. And my hair doesn't look bad for the first few weeks after I get it cut but after a month or so it starts growing out in every direction and just looks bad whether I leave it or put gel in it.

Because people were assuming I was a morbidly obese greasy turbonerd.
Where? I have seen NOTHING on this page that would suggest that.
my posts about my density are going to be lost in a sea of this guy talking about how he looks
sorry taepodong for calling you this guy
that's probably rude
You know, I rarely post in this thread, I usually lurk. Sometimes I can really relate to what others have to say, or agree with the advice others have given. It's interesting in a way to see how we all try to make the best out of our social lives, or try to meet certain 'standards'.
But lately, I'm getting a bit upset when I view this thread. More upset than sad really. I think I have determined the cause though:

Seriously man, what the actual fuck is wrong with you.
Before I continue my rant, let me tell you a little something about myself. I'm just like my dad, tall and skinny, curly hair, somewhat witty but mostly a very shy person. About 7 years ago when I started high school, and for the next 3 years or so, I was a bit like you. Always worrying what people'd think of me when I said this or that. If I did something stupid or awkward, it would haunt me for days in my head. I was planning and rehearsing conversations just like you. Back then, I could count all of my friends on one hand. My life would basically revolve around my computer.
Slowly though, that changed.
Fast forward another few years. I noticed that interacting with people in a good way, is something you can practice. And so I did. It's not rocket science, I figured. It was then when I first started going to parties, and finally made new friends in class. That was in '07 or something. I slowly began to be more comfortable with myself as a person. And people liked me for it. Started to prefer friends over sitting behind my computer for days. I also learned that you can be whoever the fuck you want as a person, if you set your mind to it. Even later I learned that it's best to be yourself. But that shouldn't keep you from trying to be a better person.
Now, last year, I started at uni. And it was the best year I've had. Got to know tons of people, had a few short romances, lots of dates, hung out with buddies almost every day and had a lot of fun overall. All in one year. That shit would have taken me centuries if I still was the person I was 5 years ago. But there's always room for improvement. Sometimes I still catch myself looking away when I'm talking to people, and I still feel kinda insecure and shy at times, when I shouldn't be, at all.
The point I'm trying to get across here, is that you need to stop feeling so fucking sorry for yourself. Get your goddamn head out of your ass and try to realize that you can change whatever you think is wrong with you when it comes to being a social human being. Seriously, it's not that hard. It takes time, but come on. It doesn't take a genius to say hi to someone without having to fear for the spaghetti. Sitting here behind your computer typing out sad and over-analyzed bullshit isn't going to help you. If you want to be social, get the fuck outside and talk to people, I don't care if it's your mom or your goddamn goldfish, anything is better than sitting here and complaining. You will make mistakes, you will face awkward situations, but at the very least you LEARNED something from them. You think complaining on an internet forum is going to get you that experience?
At least try to feel better about yourself man. Work out or something. Feeling good about yourself is half the work. Confidence is key. People notice if you're confident, you don't even have to say a word. I hope I somehow got into that thick skull of yours. Take some goddamn intiative, and most of all, don't worry so much. People really don't give that much of a fuck honestly.

Well the gym at my university is free to use. I didn't bring work out clothes with me though because I had no intention of using it.

youre coming across as really paranoid and insecure right now

stop making shit excuses for everything and just go find a hobby
i feel like this happens every month or so, someone comes in here and we tell them to get a hobby, and then they go "but what???" and we give suggestions that they shoot down over and over again with lame excuses
That's why I don't want to go there.
Go there anyways and you will look sharp provided you have a bit of cash to spare
seriously though my post seems to be ignored
if I'm being grabbed in the halls and being shot giant smiles
that's a good thing?
cause like if you're just being friendly
you just wave, right

You're probably just dense, ask her to hang out some time if you want, if she's slapping your ass that's a pretty big indicator.
There's really no other way to interpret these things
How does adding people as friends on facebook work? would people I met recently but got to know find it odd that I'm randomly sending out friend requests?

well
we have a spare together
start there I guess
How does adding people as friends on facebook work? would people I met recently but got to know find it odd that I'm randomly sending out friend requests?
i think it pretty much does come across as weird if you add someone the night after you met them or something but i still do it all the time and its not like they care in the long run

Pretty sure people don't grab balls just to be friendly
Oh wait you said halls, nevermind
Go there anyways and you will look sharp provided you have a bit of cash to spare
And I don't. But hey, at least I stopped wearing shirts for death metal bands like I did in high school so that's a step in the right direction.
you can wear band shirts and not be a total weirdo about it
you can wear band shirts and not be a total weirdo about it
I do still wear band shirts sometimes, just not every day like in high school. And only bands that lots of people know like Megadeth and Slayer, not super obscure shit that you have to be into old school black metal to know about.
Well the gym at my university is free to use. I didn't bring work out clothes with me though because I had no intention of using it.
I lift weights at home in blue jeans (not recommended if you're doing squats, get shorts).
Clothing isn't an excuse
What the fuck does it even matter what you wear? If you're a nice guy to people then they will like you. As long as you're not wearing a fucking wolf carcass you should be OK.
