"Gamer Girl Manifesto" - General

Could care less if a girl plays a videogame. But calling themselves "Gamur girl xXx<3 i pwn u" and going all "Hi guys. I'm a girl, playing a game. Just wanted you to know. Don't hate me okay?" is just stupid.

It's the whole minority attention-thingy going on. Girls are a minority(supposedly) in games and game communities. Some of them feel they don't get enough attention in everyday life, so they get it by playing games and flaunting their gender. Just ignore/mute, continue on, and laugh at the white-knighters that won't get anything. On the other side, you also have some bastards that give girls that actually want to game, a hard time. A girl I know, constantly gets called a fag or kid, and harassed when playing games(because of her voice), so she's stopped using mic's and is very wary about saying she's a girl. She hates these "GAMUR GURLS" though, since most of them have really shitty attitudes. They are used to getting their will, from easily manipulated dudes.

It's not like playing video games is difficult to do or in some other way impressive... why do they brag about this? Sure, according to gender roles it's a male activity, but there's nothing physiologically that would make them bad at/unlikely to play video games.
