I'm an indie film maker. I don't get jack shit when I make a movie, and I'm lucky if I break even. Youtube has a program that searches for a certain audio pattern automatically whilst the video is being uploaded, that's why sometimes it takes audio down immediately once it's uploaded.

A lot of the times they have somebody watching the movies. That's why it takes so long for the video for be allowed, not because they scan it. If they did that it would not only cost them out the ass, but it is easily manipulated as shown by this. It isn't even plausable. It would have to have a copy of each and every song that cannot be used, and would have to match the upload against each song until it either found a match, or concluded that it was not something that wasn't allowed.
